We really enjoyed our walking tour of Stellenbosch. There is so much to learn about this gorgeous town apart from its wine! We were able to ask lots of questions about the area, the town and South Africa generally and would highly recommend you add this into your itinerary whilst here.

Our host Julianna knows her stuff and we combined the historical and art galleries into our walking tour. We met many interesting people in the galleries and we now have a much better understanding of the architecture and its place in Stellenbosch’s history. We spent just over 2 and a half hours on this activity and it was well worth it.

We felt like we were getting a locals lay of the land while also learning so many interesting pieces of information from our relaxed, interesting guide Johan! I don't think our visit would have been nearly as rich and fascinating if we hadn't done it. 100% reccomend to anyone visiting Stellenbosch.
Would definitely recommend doing it in the morning before you explore the town yourself as it really helps you place things on a map for later in the day!

On our last day in Stellenbosch we decided to take the walking tour from the visitor's center. Juliana was our guide, and she provided both a very good historical overview and a personal perspective of her hometown. Our only regret was that we waited until the last day because she also gave shopping, eating and sightseeing suggestions that we were not able to take advantage of. Next time!

Stellenbosch is more than just a "cute place to drink wine." Yes, it's lovely. Yes, there's no shortage of wine. But there's an interesting history hidden among the lovely shops and cozy cafes. This easy one-hour tour is led by a local guide and delivers a nice overview that provides context for the rest of your stay in Stellenbosch.

This was such a good experience. Julianna, our guide grew up in Stellenbosch and speaks of her town with knowledge, passion and enthusiasm. It's beautiful to stroll whilst someone gives you interesting facts ans shows you things of beauty you may otherwise not have noticed - especially on such a short visit. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We did a walking tour of Stellenbosch (the old town) with Johann on a lovely Sunday morning in April. It was market Sunday and beautifully warm for an autumn day so the town was buzzing with a happy vibe! Johann was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He easily answered all our questions and we all enjoyed the tour.

Juliana Rossouw was very enthusiastic about the town and her passion comes out during the guided tour. She has depth of knowledge and grew up here, working at the University before becoming a tour guide 8 years ago. She knows her history and not to spoil the details, her father was even chosen as the “governor, Simon van der Stel “ one year in the annual ceremony at the Braak. She adds other places of interest that people should visit. An easy walk through town, comfortable pace.

We had a very enjoyable tour with our guide Juliana. We were lucky, we were the only two on the tour. She gave us a lot of information about the history of this beautiful town. Moreover she told us a lot of nice things to know when staying in Stellenbosch. It was a very pleasant experience, highly recommended. She suggested to speak Afrikaans because we are Dutch. Never thought it would be that easy to follow for us. Very nice experience, thank you Juliana.
