Highly advise this tour with Charles and Friday!!
My husband and I went on this 8+ hour excursion to 3 very different wineries. There were approx. 80 in our group, but it was so well run that it almost felt like a private tour. The bus showed up on time and took 45 mins to first winery which provided not only the wines, but a plentiful charcuterie board. We bought a bottle for about $7.50!! The 2nd winery provided the wine, but we were provided a lunch menu to order from at our cost. Here we ordered a large charcuterie board at a cost of approx $12. Last winery provided 5 wines/5 chocolate pairings. We bought their special Elephant wine at just under $20. Best part of trip was our guide, Charles and driver, Friday. Charles was so knowledgeable and we learned so much about winemaking and Cape Town history. He also kept us entertained with his great personal stories. Friday was an excellent driver who got us where we needed to be on-time and safely and he was a joy to talk to at each stop. Highly recommend these gentlemen and this particular tour!!! Also, the value for what you receive is amazing — was approx. $38/per person!! Thank you Charles and Friday!!

The most efficient and cost-efficient way to see Cape Town
This is the best sightseeing deal in town. My tour provisioner could have sold me a car-and-driver package and made money. Instead, she told me to buy a day pass with the Table Mountain tram added in....and I saw virtually everything on the peninsula for roughly US$ 15 or so. The routes interconnect, so you plan to see the Mountain, then loop over to the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and then more...some portions of the routes overlap but what a wonderful semi-guided tour for the price. You can do this all in one day, you can buy your ticket in advance and join the bus at any stop and wander all day.

      Great wine tour
Great experience with delicious wine tasting. It surprised me how well organized was and we were able to visit 3 wineries, all of them with some snacks with the tasting. You do only a quick tour in one of the wineries and maybe we could have done one more winery tour to have a more complete experience, but other than that we had an amazing time. Our driver Friday and our guide Charles were amazing so a round of applause to them. They took care of us in every step of the way and Charles was great in all he explained along the way. I’m glad we had them in our tour. I recommend the wine explorer with Citysightseeing Cape Town!

Beautiful views and a very good guide
Even though it was very windy (~40kmh), we had an amazing time! The walk to cape of good hope was quite easy and astonishingly beautiful! The penguins later were lots of fun and was a great experience! Special shout out to our guide - Louis, who has an astounding amount of knowledge about the area as well as a very nice voice. If you’re reading this, consider audiobooks 😁 The driver - Vuyo, has eagle eyes. He spotted animals very far away and was able to point those to us - we saw some wild antilopes and ostriches among other things

We did this tour on the first day of our arrival. It was indeed the best tour to start our holidat with. In fact, the tour is really authentic and shows the life of people in Cape Town. It was just the two of us with the driver. We were lucky to go on Sunday and in return, we got a private tour with our guides.

First, we went to Langa, where a local guide met us. He told us a lot of interesting facts, helped us in getting to know the culture, cuisine and history. Indeed, it is an eye-opening exoerience that allow you to look through the real life of capetownians. Afterwards we went to Gugulethu, where our driver was from. He showed us around and even brought us to spinning, where all of the locals were in! It was a fantastuc experience: the sense of community is immense. And the main thing, the locals are really helpful, welcoming, and really proud of their home! It is really enjoyable to be around them and learn more about their life!

And, last but not least, there are a lot of things written around about safety. At no point we felt unsafe. People are really warm and welcoming. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet the locals in their usual atmosphere.

I strongly advise to go for this tour to experience real Cape Town!

A chance to see the Africa not on the safari circuit. It gives a glimpse into lives of the majority of South Africans and the hardships they endure. Our guides were very informative. We went on short walking tours in the safer areas. Well worth it

Cape Town is stunning and full of beautiful people, beautiful food. I felt uncomfortable I wasn't seeing the flip side so booked up this tour. I was very fortunate (not for them) to be the only person. Thobela and Buntu were marvellous, passionate, well read, and made it an exceptional experience. TOP TIPS - take $50 notes to buy a coffee, pay for beer, tips etc and take small bags of sweets for the children, if you feel comfortable. You'll also have the opportunity to buy some goods supporting a youth group. However, this is mostly a real experience of the Townships with people who live, know and understand them and their history. Frankly I came away a little exhausted emotionally with a lot to process. No complaints. I did drink the locally brewed beer, its fine.
While leaving this review I must make a call out for the fabulous Nyami in the office (by the Aquarium) her smile and knowledge is welcoming, extensive and just wonderful. Loved her.

This was an amazing tour. It said it was "authentic" and I thought, "I doubt it, but I'll give it a try." Our guide, Tobiah, was engaging and informative. We went to a small museum that illustrated the pass laws. We drove by some townships. Then we stopped and walked around in one. Tobiah knew everybody. We felt completely safe. It was our favorite experience while on a 3 week trip to South Africa. It was sad that people live that way. But moving and informative.

We did the township tour and I would 100% recommend it to anyone! You spend time in the township and learn a lot, get a peek into the daily life with a guide that lives there and shows you around. It’s a safe experience which explains how it is to grow up and live there, some political background and a local beer tasting. The tour guide Wanda was very knowledgeable, I recommend tourists to tip after the trip and buy a souvenir from the local shop, their life is hard enough as it is. Great experience, I hope they get a lot more visitors and that their situation improves (you support by visiting with this local organization!)

It's wonderful to hear that you had such a meaningful experience on the township tour! Learning about daily life and gaining insights from a guide who lives there can provide valuable perspectives. It's also great that the experience was safe and included elements of local culture, such as the beer tasting. Thank you for highlighting the importance of supporting the local community through tipping and purchasing souvenirs. Your recommendation to visit with this local organisation can indeed make a positive impact on their situation. I'm glad you had a great experience and hope that others will consider joining this tour to support the community as well.

Best and most meaningful experience in SA was that Townships Tour.
The guides gave us so many insights about the life of people, culture, history and politics. It wasn’t intrusive (as I was afraid it could be). On the contrary, people appreciated to share with us.
