Thoroughly enjoyed our day with Rushdie. Well versed, great sense of humour, and happy to cater to any of our requests. We hit all the historical spots as well as interesting hidden gems. Loved the samosas and the Bakery! Highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a fun, and historically informative tour.

I feel so grateful for the contribution of Monwabisi and all the
people like him who keep alive the memory of District Six and its
shocking story – it's very important to learn from the mistakes
made so that they may be avoided in the future. The tour was really
enlightening and Monwabisi is a kind and inspiring person, in addition
to be an extremely qualified guide. Highly recommended!

Rushdi is very friendly and available person. His knowledge of the history and the current situation and events is amazing. He answered to all our questions and tailored the tour to our interests. He is indeed a good ambassador of his Country.
Our Cape Town visit was in January 2020.

Monwabisi was the perfect guy for this tour. We walked to District Six, where we met Gilbert, another guide and decided to join his group. So altogether we went for a great experience at this historical site and after that had an amazing tour through Woodstock, learned a lot about the beautiful murals there and the problems of gentrification. We even visited a family in their home there who kindly told us about their daily life. Monwabisi was both very friendly and communicative and knew a lot about the history of the area. Plus he even dropped me somewhere I needed to go after the tour was finished so didn't have to
bother for a taxi. Thank You again.

We are usually not keen on tours since we like to explore everything
on our own but we decided to find a tour guide from Withlocals since
one the areas we wanted to explore was a bit dodgy for tourists so we
choose Gilbert to be our guide. The tour was very interesting and we
learned many things which we definitely would end have learned on our
own.Gilbert was very knowledgeable, spoke very good english, knew his
way around Cape town and was very happy to answer any questions that
we had along the way. The day before the tour I contacted Gilbert to
ask if we could do some amendments of the tour since there was a place
we had visited already and Gilbert had no problem in doing so. We
definitely suggest Gilbert to anyone who is searching for a local tour
guide to learn more about Capetown's history and about different
districts in Cape town. Last but not least Thank you Gilbert !

We had a great morning out walking around District 6 with Caley. She gave us a clear insight into the history of the people who were displaced and how some are returning. We also visited a lovely farmers market with a great range of food and crafts. We really enjoyed our morning with Caley.

Gilbert was very knowledgeable and told us stories with a personal background whilst walking us through (upcoming) neighbourhoods that we wouldn’t have explored by ourselves.
