About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- wendymN423LI0 contributionsAmazing Day TripOur day trip with Louis was brilliant, his narration throughout the journey was very informative and entertaining. He made sure we were all comfortable and happy with our activities which included wine tasting as well as looking out for whales in Hermanus itself. The views on the journey are stunning and add to the overall experience - a couple of stops were made to capture them properly. Even through the weather didn’t play ball and stopped the boats from heading out we spotted a number of whales - and a couple of seals - while walking along the coastline. There are plenty of eating places, bars and shopping options in Hermanus for all budgets so in between whale spotting you will be spoiled for choice! Definitely recommend taking this tour, you won’t be disappointed!Written 15 October 2024

- yvonne m0 contributionsGreat day outWhat a great day out. Went without having done any research on the vineries so it was pot luck. We started on the bus. Our first one was Allée Bleu where we had our wines and biltong platter. They were very knowledgeable Our next was Zorgvliet - beautiful setting but the food - ox croquets were still frozen inside - and our server didn’t know much about the wines and said he didn’t care about the food. Onto the tram next and we visited Plaisir. Here we paired with fudge. Again lovely wines and knowledgeable. We finished with an hour and a half at Boschendal where we paired with meat and cheese platter and spring rolls. Beautiful setting and wines. Timings all worked out and staff on the bus and tram were brilliant.Written 14 October 2024

- htm3220 contributionsAmazing Experience in Capetown ワイナリーを効率的にまわりたいならオススメ!You can use your precious one day in Capetown with this tour, from early morning you can walk around the suburb and grab coffee there. At the winery, you’ll have apx 5 glasses per winery which means you’ll have 15 glasses in total so need to control your pacing. Lunch is not included so need to pay but not incredibly expensive:) then you can enjoy marriage with Belgian chocolates at the end of the tour! Written 12 October 2024

- JVC20110 contributionsStellenbosch and paarl great, Franschoek dissapointingStellenbosch and paarl wineries were great. Engaging tours and tasting sessions. Unfortunately, the Franschoek celler was underwhelming (its also the venue for lunch): the staff rushed the wine descriptions at the begining of the tasing, you are left taste on your own. When you get your food bill, the gratuity is automatically added (strange, they should at least ask !). It had a feeling of "eat your food and leave, we can't be bothered". Its a shame. All in all, the other two wineries by far make up for this and make the trip worthwhile !Written 10 October 2024

This wasn't five stars. It was six. All because of the guide/driver, Brahm (I hope I am spelling his name correctly!). The tour took off promptly at 9:30 and from the start to the end, Brahm offered the most insightful commentary. One of the most knowledgeable and funny guides I've ever experienced. The sights were incredible, too. Weather was amazing and we saw hundreds of penguins at Boulder Beach. Brahm took us to a nice and affordable restaurant for lunch before heading to Cape Point National Park, where we spent a few more hours hiking and reaching Cape of Good Hope. Absolutely worth your while to book this trip, with the hope that Brahm will be your guide. An unforgettable day.

This was a fabulous way to see Cape Town and the surrounding area and learn about its history. Rico was great bringing humour to his commentary.
We thoroughly enjoyed the track to Cape Point. Was a challenge at times, but well worth it. Zuko was excellent as he looked after us during the day, answering questions and most importantly checking that no one was left behind.
Time with the penguins gave us an opportunity to observe such wonderful creatures close too. It was a privilege to observe them at different stages of their lives in a natural habitat.
A full day out and we loved it.

Excellent day out! We joined the tour at the Long Street office. You can also join at the Waterfront location. The team included Brahm, Leanne, and driver Julian that worked well together. We had an amazing day trip.
They use a really nice double decker bus with extremely comfortable seats. We left at scheduled time of 9:42am. We arrived at Simon’s Bay for the Penguin colony at 11:00AM. This was a two hour stop, which included time for lunch. We appreciated the 3 different options for lunch so you could go with your own personal budget. Some brought their lunch and had lunch on the beach. You could also buy sandwiches at Cafe Penguin, eat there or takeaway to eat o the beach. The third option was sit down at beautiful, affordable SeaForth Restaurant. Right on the water, with reserved seating at the best tables! We chose this option and had excellent fish and chips. (Hake, similar to cod). Excellent service as well.
Next stop was Cape Point. You could take the funicular almost to the lighthouse. Or you could walk up. You had the option to hike (guided) from Cape Point to Cape of Good Hope. The guide was really upfront about the difficulty so you could make up your mind if it was right for you. The other option was to take the bus, about 15 minutes to Cape of Good Hope.
Although a bus tour (ours had 36 people) it was so well done, options that suited everyone’s ability, and it felt very relaxed, not rushed.
We had been considering a private tour and were so happy that we chose this option instead! Saved us money without sacrificing quality.

We did the full day Cape Point Tour with the City Sightseeing Bus Co. We travelled in an air conditioned bus, with USB ports, free wifi and the ability to purchase water. The guide Charles was very knowledgeable, humerous and entertaining. The tour was excellent, it allowed plenty of time at each stop off and was great value for money. We didn't need to stop off at other stops such as Hours Bay or Camps Bay as we had already done these on the Blue Hop on Hop off bus tour.
Lunch was a stop off at the Seafront Restaurant.
I would definitely recommend this day trip.

Cape Point/Cape Hope and Boulders Beach were all fantastic. We had a fairly dry day, but chilly. The problem was the vehicle used to transport us. When I signed up for this tour, I made the assumption we'd be in a large, comfortable coach type bus. As there were 15-18 of us, we were crammed into a small bus that held at a max 19 people (I think). We were the last on the bus and got the worst seats possible. We were told those would be our seats for the entire day, no switching. In order to look out the window, I had to have my neck at a constant 45 degree angle. I couldn't see over the seat in front of me, so my only view was the back of the seat or with my head cranked to the right. My seat happened to have the wheel well, so my feet were on that the entire time. Everything on this bus was tighter than the economy section of an airplane. The person behind me was average height, but his knees were in my back the entire time. So, the places we saw were wonderful, but the majority of my day was on this bus. I love City Sightseeing hop on/off buses, but after this experience, I DO NOT recommend them for other tours, unless you know you'll be on a bigger bus.

The guides were very Kind and knowledgeable, however, this was third party booking first after booking it said it was viatours, then it was sightseeing tours on the return trip, it didn't bring you back to where it picked you up, you had to change buses at the Central city, which it never stated. Additionally When booking online, it gave you 2 options, one basic Fee second, additional fee which included the park entry fees which I opted for certain the entire bus didn't select option two when we arrived at the Parks the Operator didn't collect the additional fees from all passengers. Which l led me to believe and I did ask but didn't get a direct answer. Why I paid that additional amount. The areas were beautiful however the large bus moved slower than a smaller vehicle and many more people.

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad you thought that our guide was kind and knowledgeable.
I am surprised you were expecting a small vehicle. The tour is clearly advertised as a large coach, offering ample legroom, big vista windows and free wifi. In my book, way better than being crammed into a mini van on the pretence of a small group tour.
As regards the cape point entry ticket - also very simply and easy to understand. As advertised, you can purchase the tour with the national park entry ticket or without. The Without option is for South Africans and members of the SADC community, as national parks offers a reduced entry fee (their rules, not ours). Such persons have to produce photo ID which is why our onboard hostess takes care of this en route to Cape Point. We physically have to present the photo ID at the national park entrance gate.
Glad you enjoyed the tour all the same and hope to welcome you back on one of our other tours soon.

It was a wonderful experience, albeit on a cold winter's day.
The tour guides made the experience warm, welcoming and memorable.
I honestly enjoyed how the lead guide was conscious of everyone's culture and nationality and would seamlessly transition his address to the language/ culture of the guests he was addressing. :-)
We got to see everything that had been promised beforehand (i.e., Penguins, Seals, Baboons, Ostrich, the views from the Cape Point hike). We were kept entertained with fun facts for the entire trip. The excursion was turned into a fun treasure hunt that had us all busy looking out of the windows to be the first to spot the distant attractions.
Dress appropriately, Cape Point can get quite windy and chilly with flash rains in June. (silly me, I went in my summer shorts and shirt)
Thank you for the food recommendation and restaurant at Simon's Town. That was the best calamari I had in Western Cape.
Disclaimer for photos in the bus, it is not so easy to take good photos as the bus is in motion, you may spot a lovely site and by the time you take out your camera to take a picture it is behind you.
I recommend the Red Bus for first time visitors, it is a great way to learn about the city and various attractions, plus which areas a tourist should avoid.
Thank you Red Bus

I decided to go with CitySightSeeing because I'm visiting Cape Town as a solo traveller and I wanted to visit Cape Point. I had heard that Uber doesn't work out so great to go there. CitySightSeeing was a great choice and I had an excellent day with them. Mark, Sipho and Alex handled the trip expertly. It was well organised and they communicated well. The bus was very comfortable with wifi and usb charging points. I'm very glad I chose this tour.

We had a fabulous time with Keith and Justin our guides. We loved Keith's dad jokes throughout the the bus journey.
Some of the positive highlights:
1. Good buses, air conditioned and good seats
2. Selling prepaid boulder beach tickets on the bus for cost price was a great touch
3. Beautiful 45 mins optional hike was great
4. Keith's commentary about the history of Cape town was brilliant
Nothing negative from us! Would highly recommend.

Woah , so a nice trip , we feel save with Alex and Peter and the girl I don’t remember .But it a the MUST . First Peter is a professional .👍 even before you get on board he make you feel at home , he make you feel comfortable before the trip. He knew everyone one board where they come from and he is funny . Peter know any single spot .And Alex he know where to slow down to let us enjoy the single things they spot on the road . And on the top Peter , explain us what it’s .That top. Which make you enjoy the trip . I think the sale should advise us that to bring like sunblock or what shoes to wear . Overall we are very satisfied .
