The tour was a wonderful experience! The bus was on time and the tour guide, Charles, was extremely accommodating. As the tour bus exited the city bowl and moved through Muizenberg, Charles entertained and educated us with his beautifully told stories and games. Seeing penguins free and in their natural habitat was a sight to behold and the restaurant at Boulders Beach served amazing food. The drive through Simon's Town was scenic and seeing the Cape of Good Hope was a life-changing experience. The entire park is covered in Fynbos which is a sight in itself but the expanse of ocean visible from the highest point is immense. The drive back was through Kommetjie, so much of the Cape can actually be seen on this trip. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone wishing to see and learn an incredible amount in one day.

I booked an organised tour and met up with the tour minibus at the V&A waterfront. Was met by Charles the tour guide who followed all covid protocols to ensure all of the passengers were all safe.
Charles was very friendly and knowledgeable, sharing facts and personal stories on our journey and keeping things interesting and interactive during the trip by having quizzes
Whilst driving through Fish Hoek we saw a whale and stopped to view. The African Penguin sanctuary was very interesting. Charles shared some penguin facts before we went in and then let us tour in our own time
There was an optional lunch at the local restaurant, but I chose to walk back into Simonstown and view the historic naval base instead
It was a beautiful day at Cape Point. We were given sufficient time to explore before having the option of a group hike to the Cape of Good Hope (or a drive down)
We saw lizards, Ostrich and Eland in the nature reserve with some fantastic views of the coast.
Highly recommended for a very reasonably priced day trip with an experienced friendly guide. Even though I had visited all of the sites previously, it was an enjoyable and educating day tour

This wasn't five stars. It was six. All because of the guide/driver, Brahm (I hope I am spelling his name correctly!). The tour took off promptly at 9:30 and from the start to the end, Brahm offered the most insightful commentary. One of the most knowledgeable and funny guides I've ever experienced. The sights were incredible, too. Weather was amazing and we saw hundreds of penguins at Boulder Beach. Brahm took us to a nice and affordable restaurant for lunch before heading to Cape Point National Park, where we spent a few more hours hiking and reaching Cape of Good Hope. Absolutely worth your while to book this trip, with the hope that Brahm will be your guide. An unforgettable day.

This tour is overpriced and the Boulder Beach tickets arent for the beach.
When you get on the bus you are told you need to buy tickets to BB. Fine, but what you actualy buy are tickets to a viewing platform at a visitor centre not the actual BB. For this you walk past the visitor centre on a wooden pathway and pay another 178R where you can walk on the beach and get much closer to the penguins than those on the wooden viewing platform. Why anybody would go there is beyond me, perhaps like me they didnt know so hopefully this helps future visitors.
There is one restaurant but you need to go to eat at 11.45 so either dont have breakfast or simply bring food to eat when you fancy it
Also, the coach had the heating on. When i asked if this could be turned off i was told it couldnt be. I wouldnt mind but mid 20s you dont need the heating on a coach and the metal case got hot which if touched would hurt.

Thank you for your review, which factually is sadly not 100% correct. We pride ourselves at our credibility and so I feel obliged to deal with your comments as follows:
1) The tour is overpriced? Based on what? If you research this a bit you may also find that its about 50% cheaper than any other Cape Point tour. Our basic tour without entry is currently R 439 online. I challenge you to find a cheaper tour online.
2) The National Park Boulders ticket we sell on the bus is for International visitors and costs EXACTLY the same as at the Boulders beach gate. R 170 per adult - youre welcome to check our ticket machines.
We encourage International visitors to purchase these on the bus so they can fast track past the entry point which usually has a queue of folks purchasing tickets and since Covid, National Parks only operate 1 cashier.
South African citizens and members of the SADC community can get cheaper tickets IF they buy directly from the cashier at the gate by standing in the line, and we tell our passengers the same, as you need to produce photo ID or Passport to get cheaper tickets (these are National Park rules - not ours)
3) As for the 2 separate Boulders entrances. The same ticket is valid at both entrances. All you would have needed to do was the present your ticket and they would have allowed you in without any fuss or having to pay again!
4) We arrive at Boulders beach at about 11h45 and most visitors visit the penguins first and then have lunch afterwards (starting lunch at about 12h45) so not sure why you went to lunch first?
5) As regards the coach heating, I will ask my team but heaters and can be switched on and off easily so there is no good reason why the driver could not switch it off?
Sad that you had less than a 5* experience with us, perhaps listening to the guide may have overcome some of these issues on the day and resulted in a more enjoyable experience for you

I took the tour to Boulders Beach and Cape Point. It is very well organised, giving us ample time on each stop. There is an extra fee for Boulders Beach (National Park) and for Cape Point (also a National Park). All well worth it. Boulders Beach is fun with the penguins and Cape Point is spectacular. The guide, Charles, was excellent explaining everything carefully and emphasising safety (with baboons for instance). A very soothing voice and just the right level of information, delivered with humour. He led a hike down to the Cape of Good Hope. Superb.

Brahm and Leanne were wonderful! They were helpful, excited, knowledgeable, fun, and kind. It seemed like the still had the enthusiasm of the first day, but with a decade of experience. They offered a good amount of commentary with lots of information, but also allowed breaks (and not talking constantly). Every question I asked was answered with delight.
Would strongly recommend!

Overall, Recommended: Covid19 made it tough to take personal tours but luckily the city sightseeing bus was still operating. Certainly book in advance if you can. It seems they were taking the proper precautions to stay clean by providing hand sanitizer throughout the trip. Sipho and Rico were awesome, very knowledgeable and able to go with the flow. If you pace yourself well they provide enough time to really enjoy the space during the tour. The hike optional hike was beautiful; certainly recommend. Also eat at the restaurant also delicious. I don’t think it’s necessary to pay extra to see the penguins at boulders beach because you see them around.

April 1 2022. I can not say enough this tour. Charles, Leanne and Stevie made it an amazing experience. Stevie “wonder” even wrote a prompt to birthday song for a lady on the tour that the whole bus sand to.
Penguins were so close to the viewing plate forms, the scenery was amazing and the power of the ocean was all inspiring. We were fortunate to see a zebra on our way out of the park. The this is beyond the cost of the tour.

We had an amazing experience today 27/11/2021 during the Cape point route with Rico , Steve and Kyle . Very good clientele and it's amazing how Rico narrates the scenery like he is part of the history. He obviously read, experienced and listened very well to all the history. I loved every bit of it I could not sleep even a bit, I was so impressed with his knowledge of all the Flora species we came across. Keep up the good work guys

The tour gets to the places on time and it is very explanatory. Those going on the right side of the bus miss a lot more, which is frustrating. Considering that table mountain ticket is required and nobody goes to boulders beach not to see penguins, the advertised price should include both to be totally fair. Penguins are really cute btw :)

Will the bus transport those who do not want to hike, to the points of interest? I have an elderly father who wants to see these sites, but is unable to hike. He can walk, but hiking is not a good idea for him.
