I was skeptical about going on this tour as one of the ladies working at Aquila V&A were extremely rude. But our tour guide Werner Klopper made our experience feel 1000 times better. He was very knowledgeable, and patient with us. He made sure we got to the game reserve on time for our yummy lunch and that we got on our safari vehicle on time with a good spot near the front! He was also very knowledgeable about the history about South Africa and gave us very interesting facts! I got cold during the safari so he also let me borrow one of his jackets to ensure I was warm. An incredible tour guide and 100% recommend him!!! Acquila itself was very beautiful and one of the best experiences. Although it was very cold and spitting, we still had a great time. Got to see so many beautiful animals in their natural habit and got up so close to the big cats! Must visit when in Cape Town 😍😊

I had a great time at the Winelands. My guide Mike was flexible and spontaneous - we went out on Sunday and not all places were opened, but we still hit many great places. At the end we hit 5 different vineyards. Since it’s a private tour there’s no itinerary. I did not pace myself with wine and food, and ended up forgot to have lunch. So I’d recommend to plan properly for lunch and explore wine and cheese pairings, or chocolate pairings.

We took my parents and family on the whale watching experience and it was better than expected. The staff were very caring and helpful to assist the elderly people and the young baby. The sightings were incredible and we saw dappled whale calves. The conservationist on board gave so much information while at sea which made the trip so immersive. At the end the company gave all some soup on land. This was definitely the best whale watching experience I have been on. Thanks again to the staff.

Our recent trip to South Africa was made unforgettable thanks to Born in Africa Tours and our outstanding guide, Werner Klopper. Initially, we had only booked the Big Five Safari, but Werner's remarkable dedication and passion for his job prompted us to extend our tour to the Peninsula with him the very next day. He surprised us by purchasing two umbrellas and gave them to us for the day, ensuring we were well-prepared for the weather. Werner’s enthusiasm and commitment to his role as a tour guide were evident throughout our time with him. His efforts made a significant difference in our enjoyment of the trip. This tour started with a wonderful wine tasting at Du Toilskloof winery, then on to a scrumptious buffet lunch at Aquila reserve, followed by a fabulous three hour safari featuring some of Africa’s most magnificent wildlife. Our host and driver, Chris, kept us comfortable and well entertained with interesting facts and anecdotes throughout the journey. A great day indeed!

Our dedicated guide enhanced the outward and return journey with spectacular stops. Our gin tasting was a highlight of the day.

Werner took me and 2 others on a tour to Aquila. From the instant I met Werner I felt completely at ease, and it was clear he was passionate and knowledgeable about Cape Town and its history. Not only did we make it to Aquila where we had great weather and saw four out of the Big 5, but we got a delicious wine tasting on the way and squeezed in some shopping on the way back. I had such a great time that I asked Werner to take me on a private wine tour later that week. Thanks so much for a wonderful time!

My guide Werner was incredibly knowledgeable and displayed excellent service! He was passionate and interested in the history of the area, any question asked, he had the answer! Werner was without doubt the perfect guide and made a truly stunning tour even more outstanding!

Aquila is about 2.5 hours outside of Cape Town, but Mike made the trip very enjoyable and informative! The guide at Aquila was very knowledgeable, and this was definitely 10/10!

Mike is the man!! We had a fabulous day with him. He was extremely informative and went out of his way to ensure we got the most out of the experience. He made recommendations for the rest of our trip, and set us up for success. We would highly recommend this tour if your time is limited for safari. We saw so many animals and felt that we got a true experience, despite not having the time for an overnight trip somewhere.

Aquila safari experience is amazing with Born in Africa Co and also tour guide Mike. They’ve planned everything perfectly from beginning to end. It was very nice to see 5 African bigs just in their natural plant. Journey was so comfortable and also lunch was perfect. Werner made frequent stops for photos and ensured our comfort throughout the long drive to Aquila Reserve. His warm demeanor and engaging conversation made the journey enjoyable. He also made sure we had enough breaks for washroom stops and coffee. Upon reaching Aquila Reserve, Werner suggested a private safari, which was a fantastic recommendation. He also recommended Trevor as our safari driver, who was funny and ensured we saw almost all the Big 5 animals. I highly recommend Werner for any tour in Cape Town. His passion for guiding shines through, and his background as a retired professor adds depth to the experience.
