About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 923imkev0 contributionsAmazing experience traveling with the BazBusI had an amazing experience with the BazBus. All the drivers were so so friendly, I felt super safe and secure! I met lovely people on the bus and for me as a solo traveler it was the perfect experience! Communication and booking was easy and friendly. I can highly recommend traveling with the BazBus!Written 16 March 2024
- gustavy20240 contributionsMziMzi was a great driver. Very funny and kind to us and told us a but about the surroundings. He was joking a lot with me even though I had a shirt of a team he didn’t supportWritten 3 March 2024
- P6306WVdieters0 contributionsGood experienceAn excellent chance to explore the garden route. Only one time, the bus was nearly full, but mostly you can use the two seats in a row. The drivers were all friendly and helpful, I could even arrange flexible drop-off locations. I'm sure I will do this again when I come back to SA.Written 10 February 2024
- Space0ne0 contributionsBaz Bus - most convenient and safe way to travel.Baz Bus - most convenient way to travel in South Africa. We used BasBuz for the second time on our extended stays in South Africa. Whether you choose the tours or to travel the garden route you will experience excellent service, from trip planning at the office to the drivers on the road. We were always well looked after, picked up from one accommodation and dropped off at another. They also stop for a coffee break. We find this the most convenient way to travel, as you don’t need a car since tours can be arranged from your accommodation, They also offer choice of accommodation stops depending on your budgets, backpacker, flashpacker or hotels. The buses are 13 seater, so you might want to book your seat ahead as it was always full when we use them. We also met lots of other interesting travellers on our journey.Written 7 February 2024
- vivienk9290 contributionsA stress-free way to travel the Garden Route :)We booked the BazBus Hop-on Hop-off tour very spontaneously without knowing what exactly to expect. During our 13-day trip, we were not only served with reliable service, but also with extraordinary friendliness and helpfulness. The drivers are in good contact with the hostels so we could always be sure when they arrived, which is very convenient. On the bus you always meet travelers you have already met, as well as the drivers who give you a warm welcome. The driver King Elvis (yes, Elvis is alive in SA) played us some German music as we were driving for the second time with him. BazBus was such a good time, we could sit back, relax and see everything we wanted to without the hassle of renting an own car. 100% recommend!!!Written 3 February 2024
- lisakW999MV0 contributionsUse BAZBUS for your next Trip!!I would definitely recommend using Bazbus! It's an easy way to travel long distances while sitting comfortable and enjoying the view. - 4philippac0 contributionsDishonest company. Be very awareBe vary aware that when booking a safari through this company you are not actually booking with BazBus. They took our money immediately online and even sent a confirmation of our trip. Then two days later told us that they do not actually run the safari’s. They take your money then try and find a safari that suites your needs. If they can’t find one they try and get you to accept different dates. If you can’t change your plans and request a refund they hold on to your money for over a month before refunding it. It cost us a lot in exchange rate fees. Wr will never book with this dishonest company againWritten 22 December 2023
- Wander117937292820 contributionsGreat !King Elvis was a great driver! We had alot of fun. Also we got some interesting Infos from our driver in Tsitzikama. Always on time and very convenientWritten 20 December 2023
- A8419OKelizabethp0 contributionsA wonderful, easy, hassle-free experience, highly recommendWe travelled on Bazbus in November and December 2023 for about 5 weeks using the hop-on / hop-off service, as well as taking a day trip to the Cape Pensinsula. I highly recommend this company. They were nearly always incredibly punctual, or early, and, if the bus was running slightly late due to traffic or other unpredictable hold-ups, someone would phone the pick-up accomodation to let us know. We were a bit worried about turning up in some places at night but the bus driver (or drivers) would make sure that we got into our accomodation safely before departing. We chose Bazbus because we didn't have to worry about getting lost or breaking down in a car and this really was the ideal hassle free, and relaxed, alternative to travelling along this route. When eating out at night most places in SA, getting transport home is usually suggested. Taxis (which actually have a different meaning in SA and so are called shuttles) or Uber / Bolt are easy to find, cheap and considered safe in most places, although we always checked safety concerns and taxi recommendations with the accomodation where we were staying, so it's always possible to get a taxi back from a restaurant. We, however, chose to stay near restaurants and get home before dark. If you decided not to stay at the pick-up points then, again, we always found it easy and cheap to get a taxi. The drivers, without exception, were all excellent, professional, friendly and considerate. The two drivers that we particularly remember, and are grateful to, for making our trip so enjoyable, easy and comfortable were Brian, who generally drives between Knysna and Cape Town, and King Elvis who usually drives the Port Elizabeth to Knysna stretch. The office team were nearly always on hand to answer questions promptly and the customer service was truly excellent, always approachable and always sorting out any concerns we had in a way that left this part of our holiday entirely hassle free.Written 16 December 2023
- emmabO328RV0 contributionsBest driversThe drivers are the best ! I was supposed to go in an guesthouse in Port Elizabeth but the guy from the accomodation was super strange. The driver from the BazBus stayed with me and help me with this bad situation and then he took me to a better accomodation. He really save my night! Thank you Mzi !Written 30 November 2023

Such a good tour!!! Exceeded our expectations as we did everything we planned to and saw such beautiful scenery and landscape of Cape Town.
Mike was one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had - so informative and gave us a lot of tips on avoiding tourist traps sincerely - not every tour guide does that. He also went out of his way to help his guests plan the rest of their trips.

We had a good time with Mike and Asanda on 27th Jan 2020. Mike is full of energy taking care of all of us, the bus was full load. The itinerary was very well planned. He is very knowledgeable explaining the history and briefing on what to expect about the places before our each stop. He even took our group photos and emailed to us. The picnic lunch was good and he took special care for our halal need. We like best was the optional tours to visit the Cape Fur seals at Duiker Island and penguin at Boulders Beach. Mike and Asanda also helped to look out for the wildlife while we were at Cape Point Nature Reserve.
The only set back was the bus size. I was seated on 1st row behind the driver closest to the door and there were other 3 passengers on the same row. Only half of my butt got the seat.😟

I had the pleasure of taking the full day tour to the Peninsula with Mike as our guide. The entire trip was well organized with snacks and lunch provided. I would recommend this if you just want to sit back and relax while seeing the peninsula. The hike at the end at the cape of good hope was absolutely breathtaking and by taking the bus you can hike from the light house at the cape point all the way to the cape of good hope and get picked up from there.
It would be cheaper to drive yourself but this is a much more relaxing option and you would still have to pay the toll along the M6 highway and to enter the cape peninsula area (I think 350 rand) so it is well worth taking the tour.

This tour is a MUST when visiting South Africa. A full day tour filled with beautiful sceneries, tons of animals and an amazing tour guide (Mike). On our first stop, we had the option (highly recommend) to take a boat to see the seals in their natural element, we even saw dolphins swimming with the boat! The second stop was at Boulders Beach to see the penguin colony. All the penguins at the time (went in Feb) were laying eggs, totally adorable. Last stop was at Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope, which is the most south-western point of the African continent. There's a lighthouse to the top. There's a cable car that can take you to the top, but most people choose to take a walk, not bad at all!! Then there is a path along the coast, which is absolutely stunning! Not only was this a beautiful day getting to experience all of this, but our guide Mike gave us so much information about the areas we visited, it really made it all the better.

This was a really nice way to see the Cape Peninsula. The small group made it easier to manage the time spent at each location. (No big queues of 50 people for coffee or toilets). The guide, Mike Quillinan and driver, Asanda were both excellent. Asanda was a good careful driver and Mike was a friendly and knowledgable guide. The food supplied for snacks and lunch was very good. A nice selection to suit everyone and plenty of it. I was disappointed not to see the Chapmans Peak driveway but it was closed due to high winds and that was obviously not Mikes fault.
My only slight disappointment was the lack of stops for photo opportunities at some of the key places. Overlooking into Simonstown, some of the mountain back drops and the Cape Flats for instance. I realise that the time schedule is important in such a trip but it was often not possible to take good shots from the window of the moving bus.
Having said that, all in all it was an excellent day out and very good value for money. I will strongly recommend this trip to any of my friends who visit Cape Town in the future.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our driver Safi was a very energetic and enthusiastic guide who told us about every site we passed, a lot about South African history and experience, and about the local animals. The viewpoint stops along the way we’re simply amazing on a clear sunny day. The boat to see the seals is nice but very bumpy. The penguin stop was great as there was barely a crowd and we could get close to the viewpoints of the penguin colony. Our next stop at the cape point park started with an incredible indoor exhibition about South African sapiens, origins of humans, and a lot about the local flora and fauna. We had a nice picnic lunch outside before heading to the cape of good hope hike, which was an incredible end to the day. The hike up to the lighthouse was magical! Recommend to go in the winter to avoid crowds, but you may get a rainy day.

We really enjoyed our Peninsula Tour with Baz Bus. We chose this because it spent the maximum time on the Peninsula, and included the opportunity to spend more time around Cape Point including a short hike. It fully lived up to our expectations.
The weather wasn't helpful initially as the boat wasn't running to the Seal island because of wind, and Chapman's Peak was also closed for the same reason. But our great guide Mark, and driver Asanda, allowed us some time around the port and we re-routed via False Bay with some lovely views and then the day continued as planned. They prepared a great lunch and we had the right amount of time at all the attractions, and Mark escorted us on the hike at Cape Point making sure that everyone was Ok along the route, and took some pics as well which he sent to us afterwards.
This was a wonderful day and fully lived up to our expectations and would be thoroughly recommended as a Peninsula tour. mark and Asanda even helped us with an early drop off en-route as we were visiting friends out of town in the evening. Perfect.

We had a really enjoyable day out on a double-decker bus, being picked up from Camps Bay, going through Cape Town down to Cape Point on a full day sight-seeing tour.
Our guide was excellent in keeping us entertained with facts and pointing out all the best sights whilst en route.
It was an extremely windy day but it didn't stop us from making the most of our trip, including visiting the lighthouse, hiking around Cape Peninsula, seeing the penguins on Boulders Beach and having photographs taken at the 'bottom of the world'.
We felt really sorry for the driver and guides when the bus broke down on the way back, during rush hour traffic.
To their credit however, we were only waiting a short time before another bus arrived and completed our journey back to Camps Bay.
In the circumstances we were very impressed with this company - well done!

The entire trip was excellent (a bit windy but that can't be helped). Mike was amazing and went the extra mile with adding a trip through a nature reserve to view some of the wild life. It was an amazing day and recommend this to everyone. He is very knowledgeable and provided very good information throughout the tour

What a fantastic way to see some of the best that Cape Town has to offer. Mike, the tour guide, and Asanda, the driver, were fantastic! Very knowledgeable and friendly and made the tour so enjoyable.
My husband and I only had a week in Cape Town and wanted to see as much as possible. This was a great way to do it. Not a lot of time is spent in the bus as you get out a lot and spend some time at the different sights and go on a couple of hikes.
Mike even gave us a great restaurant recommendation for dinner on our last night in Cape Town (Gold Restaurant for an array of African cuisine).

Hi
I think Mike is very flexible. You are right, there are not all admissions included. But the picnic lunch is. It is no problem if you prefer vegetarian. My expiriences with that company was very good. I would choose once again. Have pleasure it is an impressive trip.

Hello-
I have a few questions.
1. Does this tour include a hike up table mountain?
2. If not, do you offer a table mountain hike? I see mentions about a tour guide by the name of Mike.
3. Do you pick up from the Cape Town Marriott Crystal Towers?
Thanks in advance,
Aaron
