Wonderful experience

Awesome winery tours

Great experience. Ed was such a great guide. Levenwatcht winery was our favorite experience but every single one was good in their own right. The woman who guided us through the wines there was so passionate. Recommend for sure.

Fun and informative on wine and SA history

If you get Basil you are in for a treat. His knowledge of Capetown and its history was wonderful. He kept us on track throughout the day and it was a pleasure to spend the day with him. The 3 wine tastings were excellent and the views beautiful.
Thank you Basil for a memorable day.

Fun and informative tour of the winelands

The winelands area is beautiful, a real must see and this tour was the perfect way to do it. We had three leisurely wine tastings at different vineyards but there was also plenty of time to look round Stellenbosch and a longer stop in Franschhoek so we could go off and have some lunch as well as do some shopping. The wine tram part of the tour was a bit pointless and could easily be dropped.
What really made the day particularly special though was tour guide Basil. He speaks with knowledge and passion and we learnt so much. I can’t thank him enough.

Look at the bad reviews 1st

Solo

I was picked up way too early
I must have sat for about an hour waitng for the rest of the tour group.
Then we were driving out on the N1 before our tour guide realised he had forgotten one of the people.

We left Cape Town late so were running late the entire day and got back to Cape Town late as well.

Tour guide used his phone whilst driving - No headset.

First wine tour estate was good with the cheese pairing
The other two were okay.

It is way too expensive for an entire day.... really not reasonable at all.

We paid for a private car and got a uncomfortable old van

We arranged to have a private car tour of the wine country, and when the guide arrived we got an older white van which had very uncomfortable seats, and it was clear the van was intended for a large group. There were only two of us. The guide was a very nice guy but did not have a scheduled agenda and left it up to us. That was not what we paid for; we paid for a guided tour of the wine country. The price of the Van tour was 1/4 less than the price we paid for the private car tour. When we got back, I asked our hotel concierge to see why this happened and if they would refund the price we paid. They refused so we canceled our tour with them to the Cape of good hope and hired another company.

Incredibly interesting

The wine tasting is really amazing, but what touched me the most was the simplicity and intelligence of our guide, Basil. He explain a lot for us about all the history and brought really interesting facts about, mostly, the Townships in Cape, what wasn’t the subject of the tour, but was really amazing. Basil is the guy!!

Fantastic Views, Great Guide

Manfred was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge relating to everywhere we went, South African history/culture and of course wine. We stopped at numerous wine estates and were not rushed at all. Manfred was very adaptable to our interests, stopping for us to take photos or ask him about our curiosities. Tasted some decent wines and saw some amazing views. Would recommend booking towards the beginning of your visit and using it to give you an overall introduction into the wine region and then revisiting your favourites for food and wine later in your trip.
