We had a better time than expected.
TK was an excellent guide. He was very well informed, friendly, conscientious, and a prompt and safe driver. The tour was very enjoyable. We saw a lot of wildlife en-route, but not as much on the safari as people expected. The safari guides followed footprints, but could not find the lion nor the elephant making them. It is not a zoo, and the animals are not tame, so this should be expected from time to time. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of lodging. It was very nice.

        Time of my life!
When I booked this tour, I had no idea I was arranging for one of the most amazing experiences of my life. No itinerary could have prepared me for the 5 days I spent on this tour. from stunning views, exciting experiences and of course our wonderful tour guide Uriel, this tour surpassed all expectations and my wildest dreams. It wasn’t just five days in a bus with a few stops along the way. It was meeting new friends, learning about culture and county and staying in beautiful accommodations. Uriel really went the extra mile to give us an exceptional experience. He made sure we were comfortable, got to know each other and as an important part of our group he of course joined us for experiences and breakfasts, lunches and dinners. We could easily tell, that Uriel loves his job and we were so incredibly lucky to have him as our guide!

Had the most amazing week. We did so much, saw so much, stayed in wonderful places with a great group of people. And Uriel, our guide, went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. A life changing week.

Great Garden Route Tour with Denver
We experienced a lot in those 5 days! We saw a lot of animals on the safaris and had the possibility to do some cool activities! But the best part for me was our Tourguide Denver who was very funny and always looked after us! He knew a lot about the different regions on the Tour and I learned a lot about South Africa thanks to him! If I could I would immediatly go again on a tour with him. Thank you hotspot and thank you Denver for this amazing tour!

        5 beautiful days
I had an excellent 5 days. The backpacker accommodations are very beautiful and there is WIFI available at all of them. Denver was an excellent guide who knows a lot about South Africa and loved to share it with us. Maybe just one little negative point : the prices of the optional activities were higher than planned but they worth it.

        Great city with fantastic views
Cape Town is beautiful. The drive and walk around the many neighborhoods was great. We had time on our own to shop and enjoy the waterfront as well as take the cable car for amazing views from Tabletop mountain.

Not appropriate for cruise ship passengers.
Not good for cruise ship passengers. Misinformation about time schedules, travel time to safari camp (not front gate) and amount of animals seen on safari. Driver, Jacob, was very good and professional. Camp was clean. Room was nice. Food was okay. Problem was we never got a safari first day after numerous calls on our ride there between camp and driver indicating we would. What we saw on safari the morning of the second day made us decide to leave right after. Did we see some animals? Yes, 10 elephants, 1 lion, etc. One of each group had a radar tag on so they could find them. Free roam? Well, sort of considering the tags. They had to drive on over 1,000,000 miles of range to see the few animals they had. Driving time from ship to glamping tent was over 4 1/2 hours speeding, no toilet or food stops. Save your money and go somewhere closer.

        Wonderful tour
We had a wonderful day exploring the winelands with our tour guide Ulrich. Ulrich was really friendly, chatty and knowledgeable – we really enjoyed speaking to him and learning more about the Cape & SA on our journeys to and between tastings. All 3 tastings were really enjoyable and all take place in beautiful surroundings. Getting to go on the wine tram briefly was also a lot of fun. We enjoyed having a brief break at the farmers market which was a great spot to grab some lunch. The whole day was very enjoyable and very well organised – thank you Ulrich for a wonderful day!

Superb Day Tour with fantastic Guide and Wine!
I was lucky enough to experience this wine tour having booked through Viator. It lives up to the 5 star reviews. It was faultless from start to finish. Our Guide Gigi (his nickname meaning gentle giant) was an absolute star, full of knowledge and interesting and exciting stories throughout the day. We also got to enjoy some fabulous food and wine in spectacular settings! What a treat... Definitely a bucket list tick box for anyone keen to explore the area in a day.

We had the most amazing 3 days with Denver as our guide. He made sure we had the best experience possible, took us to the doctor, got us a private room etc. He knows a lot about the country and people which made the whole tour very interesting and informative. Thank you very much and keep up your great work with nice tours that feel a bit like a roadtrip with friends

Perfect trip to start exploring South Africa!
Amazing trip which was very professionally organized by Hotspots2c. We’ve been informed of our pick up times early enough and our guide Mr Nev was fantastic! He went above and beyond to show us the beauty of his country and involved everyone in the group by adapting spontaneously to our wishes. The Botlierskop Safari and the Tsitsikama national park were breathtaking. We were lucky to see all of the big 5! Would definitely recommend and book again.

        Not worth the price
We waited for over an hour for two guests who weren’t ready because the company instructed the driver to hold back the other 10 guests to wait for the two late guests. This made us late for the day’s events. It also created an atmosphere where the other guests would make inconsiderate demands like requesting unique drop offs and pick ups at various times and places rather than stick to the itinerary of the trip. Price does not include the majority of activities. After being taken to various activity locations- still need to pay to participate. Price is primarily for the days of driving around and staying at a hostel. Might be more cost effective and time efficient to organize your own trip with friends/family rather than rely on this service.

5 days of adventure, animals, culture, fun, and educational experiences
My friend and I joined 8 other strangers for the 5-day tour of the Garden Route. 3 solo travelers (2 Germany and 1 USA) and a group of 6 graduate students from Taiwan were fortunate to be on the bus with the South African tour guide TK. He was an exquisite time manager, tour leader, organizer, transportation professional, and educator. 5 of us selected the backpacker accommodations and I think we had the best deal. The backpacker lodgings were top-notch, although a bit rustic. They offered social connections, fire pits, restaurants, bars, and beachfront rooms. We took part in all of the included activities and added a sunrise game drive and elephant walk. Others enjoyed the bungy jumping and zip lining. We enjoyed the day in Jeffrey's Bay with a bit more unscheduled time. The restaurant choices were adequate, although not elegant. Breakfasts were varied but did the job. We had a lot of driving, but with enough stops, a lot of fun, and a grand time of it all. Highly recommend. Just say yes.

Enjoyed the two day Safari immensely. Right from the start. The overnight stay at Backpackers was homely and warm. Uriel was friendly and great especially the information he shared with us through the long drive through the country side. The restaurant for lunch on both days provided a rich sampling of South African gourmet.

We went on a 2 day safari organised by Hotspots2C. Our driver, chief organiser, local historian and all round bon vivant was Uriel! He did a great job and ran a really tight ship getting us to each pit stop on time not go mention all of the interesting insights on Cape Town, South Africa and the wildlife we encountered.

The safaris themselves were really enjoyable….the second day with Simba was perhaps more enjoyable than the 1st as that farm was more scenic. Walking with the elephants was the major highlight of Day 1 and is definitely worth the upgrade.

Uriel’s choice of restaurant was also fantastic - you really have to try the ostrich meat, on Nostalgie Restaurant.

Also, I would recommend to bring some cash with you, as it the guides work really hard and it’s nice to show some appreciation with tips.

In one word, this trip was amazing! Firstly, our tour guide Geralt was fantastic - he was a very safe driver who provided us with history and fun facts about all of the scenery we saw and towns we visited along the way to our safari. He also kept us very safe during the taxi strikes, working out the safest route for us to travel out of and back into Cape Town. He was also incredibly friendly and funny, provided us with comfort stops during the long drive, and offered us an opportunity for a traditional South African braai!

The safari itself was fantastic as well! You're in very safe hands with your guides, who provided us with interesting facts about each animal we saw and were able to assess every situation for the safest safari possible.

The overnight accommodation was great as well - we stayed in the most wonderful bed & breakfast, that had a fresh breakfast spread for us in the morning and made us any egg dish we asked for.

Each lunch spot over the 2 days is great as well second day we ate at the Country Pumpkin, which definitely gives you the bang for your buck when it comes to the food - delicious!

The absolute must on this tour is the elephant walk! It is so special and unique and the guides help you better understand these amazing animals and you have the opportunity to pet them and hug them (with their trunks, of course!)!

I'd recommend this tour for couples, friends, or families. Solo travelers would be great for this as well, but this is certainly an excursion/trip that is even more magical when shared with loved ones!

      Rarely am I this impressed
      Denver-the man
      He made the tour

I loved the safari, both days, but even more I loved the views of SA and the info provided. This guy is a real asset to the company, extremely switched on!
Request this guy and get a great insight into an amazing country, as well as an excellent safari experience

Minor gripe-having to pay for some meals is kind of annoying, I would have preferred pay a little more at the start and not have to take my wallet out. But this is minor.

This was one of the best experiences of my life. Our tour guide JP is simply the best guide you could wish for on a tour like this. He made sure that we as guests were always happy, he was more than happy to answer all our questions regarding all these amazing animals that we saw on that weekend and also all our questions regarding this amazing country which I definitely plan on visiting again in the future. We saw all the animals that I at least wanted to see, including rhinos, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, water bucks, and of course lions! And all of them in a distance of 4-20 meters! It was fantastic! Thank you very much JP and Hotspots2c for providing me this experience! I will definitely do it again!

The itinerary we booked was amended because of an error on the driver’s part which led to more time driving around than seeing animals. The reserves had few of the big fives that made them difficult to find. One guide said they haven’t been able to locate their 2 elephants in a week. The safaris were disappointing.

With the exception of the long drive the tour was exceptional. The driver was well informed and extremely personable. The game lodge glamping was great fun and not long enough to enjoy it to the fullest. The Wildlife Safaris were the high light of the trip.

We visited Cape Town on a cruise ship and booked a two day Safari at Aquila with hotspots2c. From first contact Benita was so helpful. I changed details many times as people dropped out and others came on but no trouble. The trip was more than we could have hoped for and every one on the tour, 28 of us, had nothing but praise. The price was excellent. Maudi our guide and Martin our driver were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Both were great people to spend three days with as we had also booked a day tour of the cape .....raining that day but still had a fantastic time. I would recommend this company with no hesitation.

This two-day trip was great! I had a pickup from Stellenbosch, and had a nice introduction to the rest of the group by our guide TK. Het took the time to get to know each member of the group and checking for their preferences (we were a group of four solo travelers) It was a long road to botlierskoppark, but our guide understood the balance between silence and giving some explanation on the surroundings. The 6h travel was ideally divided in blocks of 2h with nice rest stops.
At arrival in botlierspark our lunch was ready to serve, which we pre-ordered in the minivan thanks to TK's organization skills. Our 4x4 safari started immediately after lunch, guided by wildlife ranger James, we were lucky that we didn't had to share the vehicle with other groups. This private setting gave James the opportunity to do whatever we wanted, which was great! Thanks to James eagle eyes, we managed to see four out big-Five. James could see a lion or a baby rhino from kilometers away! Although the drive was rough, as expected on a safari, I really enjoyed. We didn't had a specific bush walk, James wanted to emphasize on seeing as much as animals as possible, but he allowed us to go out the jeep and pose for pictures with giraffes or rhino's!
After this magnificent experience, we had a drive to our hostel in Oudtshoorn, were we enjoyed the Ostrich BBQ prepared by Mario the owner of the Uthando Hostel. Although we were exhausted of the day, we had a late night next to the camp fire and the unique atmosphere a hostel can bring.
The following day we left after a nice breakfast towards buffelsdrift game resort. We opted in on the walk with the orphans elephant which was an amazing experience, we had close contacts with the animals and were informed well about their background and living conditions. They are used to human contact and show different behavior then wild animals, but are for sure not used as a circus act.
A final activity was a bush ride throughout buffelsdrift park, and especially compared to the day before this was not that special. The names describes it well, a gentle ride through the park, while encountering some boks or girafs... It was a very family proof activity.
Ofcourse we needed to head back to Stellenbosch/Cape Town, another 6h drive over the very scenic route 62. Our guide TK adjusted the paste again to the suggestions of the group, with a nice lunch break and if needed some bathroom stops.

In summary, I think the long drive is worth the effort. Of course depending on the animals and even the wildlife ranger, the botlierskop park is a nice safari for those who want to catch a glimpse of the game in South Africa.
