It may not be necessary to add another 5-star review here, but it’s certainly well deserved. We had a sunset safari on our first day and two full days with Gerrie. He also organized our transportation to Johannesburg. He truly cares about your wish list, but also adds some really interesting and unexpected about the flora as well. He is very patient and doesn’t give up, even when you do not see the “obvious”. We’ve traveled the 7 continents and over 60 countries, so we know the difference between an okay, good and exceptional guide. Gerrie is one of the few exceptional ones who truly cares, isn’t bored with the job, and proudly educates you. He has the knowledge, English proficiency and attitude you need for a great safari. Its a long way to get here, not cheap, so get the best guide available for your trip.

I was looking for a great experience and great photo opportunities when I sighed up for a 5 day safari with the highly rated Kruger Gateway Safaris. My trip with Gerrie far exceeded my expectation. He has an incredible sense of where to find the best animals and get into position for some wonderful head shots photos. In addition, Gerrie is such a great person to spend time with. The best for a family trip! Highly recommend Kruger Gateway Safaris. This is now an annual trip that we book with Gerrie. Third year and as exiting as the first time. We spent a wonderful half day with Keegan mainly looking at the vast number of different species of birds to be found in the area around Skukuza camp. For anyone who wants to see more of the abundant bird life and other smaller species in Kruger, Keegan is simply excellent.

We booked a Day out in the Park with our family on the 18th May 2024. Our guide was the Awesome host and guide Gerry.With his very first question to us being what was on our to see whishlist, he made every effort to tick off the list through out the day.He was amazing with our grandchildren, even better with the adults. Gerries knowledge of the Kruger Park, the animals, birds and local history was extensive as he kept conversations flowing. Gerrie is the best ! the experience was remarkable, we are a group of 9 people & we did a whole day self drive safari too to see the difference between Kruger gateway private safari & with our own car inside the park but the difference is very obvious and he just gave an out of the world experience , Gerrie knows his job , I would recommend to converse with him and get to know more about the flora and fauna of the park as he loves to share his knowledge , he is very communicative ,we loved the way he engages with children , the drives were never boring & we spotted all big 5 in just 2 game drives & spotted interesting birds on the way , i highly recommend Gerrie - Kruger gateway safari , you don’t have to think twice and just go ahead with your booking with Gerrie

We had the most amazing journey with Gerry exploring the Kruger park! It was such an unbelievable experience, Gerry picked us up from Jobourg, facilitated the whole trip, and gave a 200% attention to every small detail; From the accommodation, throughout the vehicle, journey, and safari itself - Gerry (and his lovely wife as well!) made sure we are the most comfortable during this trip, communicated with lots of patience to every small question we had, and was very prompt and professional, to give us the most unforgettable trip. Don't expect the same luck: but it is undeniable that Gerry knows the park and it's ways (and the animals ways) so well, that we saw all magnificent seven in one day! This safari with Gerrie was the highlight of our SA vacation. We did the Half Day trip. Gerrie was right on time pre-dawn at our doorstep at the resort and whisked us away to the Phabeni Gate entrance of Kruger. What followed was 7 hrs of incredible viewings! Gerrie is very knowledgeable about the flora & fauna in the area and kept us informed throughout the safari. And we saw the most amazing sights: leopard hunting and devouring an antelope about 10 feet away from our vehicle, group of endangered wild dogs feasting on a carcass only to have it stolen by hyena, lions, elephants, giraffe, rhino, buffalo, zebra, hippo, an ostrich(!) and much much more. Check attached pics! Gerrie knew exactly where to take us, sometimes off the beaten path and it paid off! It was the most fantastic day and we thank Gerrie and Kruger Gateway Safaris for making it happen!

My son and I were on a tour with Gerrie recently. It was more than what I expected. We certainly wouldn’t have seen a small percentage of what we saw with Gerrie had we gone by ourselves or with other tours. We gave our wish list at the beginning and he delivered, and then some. We did leave the agenda of each day to him. After all, he’s the expert. He knew where to go, where to look and he is looped in with his colleagues that share information on the happenings throughout the day. Just as important, he has a welth of information and amazing stories that makes the long day fly by. I would recommend going with Gerrie for sure! I’m certainly recommending him for my family or friends that are coming to Kruger.

We chose Kruger get away safari because they were the only ones that accepted babies (our son is 8months) and Gerrie seemed very nice and used to have families. Well Gerrie we found out he was way more than that! Amazing guide, did everything for us to have a good time, see almost all big 5, felt safe even with the baby. I definitely recommend if we wanna have a good time with a pro, learn about Kruger parc and all its animals. Amazing experience! Definitely recommend. My wife and I went on a 4 day / 3 night private Safari with Gerrie. The weather was unseasonably cool but he was still able to find so many animals including the big 5, the ugly 5, and the small 5. It was very nice that he could get tips from other guides on where to see specific animals each day. He picked us up from the Kruger airport and arranged all our overnight stays in the park….made the whole trip easy and seamless. Every effort was made to ensure we had a comfortable trip, including breakfast items, water, juice, and a few adult beverages rages for the evening! He knows a lot about the animals, the park, and South African history. We would definitely use him again and hope to bring our kids back someday. Thanks!

We had a great half day safari tour 🦒 Heeri was so nice and welcoming. He have a lot of knowledge and it was interesting to hear. He really make an effort that we will see as much interesting animals, and we did. It was amazing, we saw some wild dogs- super cool and we had lucky and we saw a leopard on a tree with an impala he just hunted 🐆. For all the time Heeri was nice enough to take some very good pictures of everything we was witness to and send us in the end of the day, we had the time to really enjoy the moment and be free from trying take a good pic. One of the best experience in South Africa 🇿🇦. Highly recommend it 🦓🦒
