I did the Kruger 4 Day Budget Safari as a solo female traveler, and had a trully wonderful experience. The highlight was having Promise as a guide. She is fantastic, very generous and knowledgeable. She was really committed to sharing the wonders of Kruger with me, and understood perfectly the kind of experience I was looking for, which was to appreciate the ecosystem in general, and not only look for the Big Five with a checklist. She showed me a lot of interest things, from plants, to birds, to the big game, to the cultural and historical background of the park (plus, we had a lot of fun together). She had a lot of insight on the ecosystem in general. She really is the BEST. The experience with Nhongo was very nice and easy, starting with the booking. I wrote to different companies when I was deciding on my trip, and Nhongo always responded very quickly. They accommodated to my needs in terms of dates, and also to the fact that I was traveling solo (most companies didn't). They arranged my transportation from Johannesburg to Mbombela, where I was picked up and taken to Kruger. They arranged my accommodation at Pretoriuskop camp inside the park, which was another upside (other companies offered accommodation outside the park, especially because it was the busiest season). I was not looking for any luxury, so the hut in the camp was perfect for me. All in all, I absolutely recommend booking with Nhongo and would do it again. Thank you!

We went with the family and we had a fantastic experience. Verity communicated with us from the start till the end. Dean picked us up and drove us back. Amanda who was our guide gave our family a 5 start experience. This is the second time we used them for safari in Kruger Park and this will certainly not be the last one. Stop looking around and book your safari with them, they are the best!

They (Dean and Verity) really put forth the effort to take care of us and make sure we got what we wanted. They took care of the little details ahead of time, so we didn’t have the headache. We had two people working full time with our group of 14, plus a park ranger spent a day on us, and Verity back at base. I am certain that the guides that we had were among the best out there. For instance, our guide, Amanda, spotted a leopard first. Obviously, this attracted a crowd of other drivers. Still, she was one step ahead of everyone and they started following our driver rather than the leopard. The hotel (Kruger Gate Hotel) that they helped us select was amazing and perfect for what we wanted. Nhongo were very quick in responding to any communication. They showed up early to any time we met them. It was really door-to-door service and at the times that we wanted. They put forth the effort to keep us happy!

Verity was clear and prompt in helping us arrange our safari tour, while our guide Amanda was excellent - her passion for and knowledge of wildlife was inspiring. We enjoyed our tour very much and would highly recommend it.

We just finished a truly amazing 2 day trip to Kruger National Park! Our guide Jure was fantastic! Since we had a very short time he made sure to provide us with so much information and try his best to go to all the hot spots were the animals might be, and he did not disappoint! We could not have even dreamed of accomplishing as much as we did on this short Safari! I know most of it was just pure luck, but Jure’s 25 years of experience in the park made the world of difference in getting to experience the animals in their natural habitat! Not only was Jure great, but so was the whole Nhongo team. Their slogan is “Arrive as strangers, and leave as friends” and they truly live by this motto. Some of the most hospitable and kind people we’ve ever met! Highly recommend this company and Jure to anyone going to Kruger! Just wish we had more time!!

Our 14 day stay at the Kruger National Park was absolutely amazing! We drove around the forest, morning and afternoon, everyday with the wonderful knowledge sharer and guide, Amanda. It was a great experience to explore not only Shingwedzi, but also the northern region of the park with Nhongho Safaris.

We had a lovely experience during the whole trip. Our guide Amanda was a thorough professional with her inputs about wildlife and how to make most out of the short safari experience. We enjoyed our conversations with Amanda a lot. The safari itself was wonderful, we saw many many beautiful animals that included the big 5. Our hosts and guides for the panorama tour Verity and her husband were great too.

I went on safari with my mum and sister. We saw lots of animals and on the night drive I was so excited and saw a big owl. Amanda was very nice and funny. Thank you to verity for making us have the best holiday ever

My husband and I have recently returned from a fantastic 4 night/5day safari with nhongo. We've waited over 2 years for our anniversary trip due to COVID but it was totally worth the wait!!! Everything went smoothly thanks to Verity who couldn't have been more helpful regarding our previous booking. We used our previous booking credit and had to pay a small amount extra and was given an extra night drive from Verity even though this wasn't necessary although much appreciated!! Our guide Amanda was amazing and our drives were outstanding,despite the rain. We managed to find all the animals on our dream list and an incredible amount of animals we weren't expecting. We stayed at skukuza and Pretorius kop camps and they had everything we needed and excellent services. Overall our trip exceeded our expectations and we are already booking for next year! Thank you once again to nhongo and we will see you again!

This was our trip of a lifetime and it didn't fail. We originally booked this trip in 2019 and were actually packed and ready to travel in March 202, then the "world" closed down because of COVID. Verity the owner of Nhongo safari was nothing but Fantastic throughout the COVID years rescheduling twice before we finally made it. We were a little skeptical about all the arrangements to actually get there but Everything went like clockwork. After 3 flights to get to Johannesburg, a shuttle was waiting for us and our cases. Driver dropped us off to meet another safari driver who drove us to Pretorius Kop and our Absolutely Amazing Driver Robbie Williams! Our accommodation was individual round huts with electricity, full bathroom, refrigerator, twin beds and a little patio area. Robbie stayed in the hut next door to us so that we didn't have far to walk for our two safari trips a day. We set our alarms every morning and were on the safari road through the park by 5:15-5:30 am every morning and then again by about 3:00-3:30 pm. We stayed out and not returning until lunch every day and then evening dinner. At the first camp meals were at the local Wimpy Restaurant, which was ok but not a lot on offer for vegetarians but it sufficed. Our 2nd place of accommodation was in the same type of hut but with an outdoor cooking area at the Skukuza site, which is situated on the Sabie River. This was much better equipped for all types of food at three different eateries and a really well stocked store for all sundries and really reasonably priced gifts. Now the safari - when we first arrived on day 1 we dropped off our luggage and Robbie literally took us out straight away, no time for jet lag!! Couldn't believe our eyes to see hyenas and 3 cheetahs plus the impala and springbok deer. Robbie went out of his way to spend long times in areas and driving different routes to make sure we had the best experience ever. Herds of elephants, zebras, water buffalo, monkeys, baboons, giraffes, hippos, Wilder beast, vultures (and other birds), crocodiles and lions. We saw this magnificent lioness just laying under a tree surrounded by her 3 cubs which were nursing/feeding off her (and that was the first morning trip!) with other juveniles and females wandering, a real pride. Even saw a black maned lion growling really early in the morning. We had all our meals with Robbie and we paid for the drinks and he our meals (set limit). He knows Kruger National Park like the back of his hand and an added bonus, he spoke their language so was easily able to communicate with other drivers when they'd spotted a certain animal or bird. We had Robbie virtually to ourselves and he addressed everyone of our requests to make sure this was the "dream of a lifetime" holiday. Overall if you are wanting to go on safari do it, you never know when you may come back again!! Robbie now works for another company called PKS Private Kruger Safaris

Beware, they are unscrupolous operators!! I lost almost 900 euros which was my advance payment to book the safari, more than one third of the safari original cost. The safari was originally planned for August 2020. During the COVID Emergency they were polite and soothing. They assured me I wouldn't lose my money and that I would have done the safari as soon as the pandemic was finished or the restrictions lifted. Last week I asked them to book the safari for next July but I was told they would have cut almost all the advance payment for a forfeiture to pay at the Kruger which allegedly established a deadline for the old reservations. They did inform me neither about this deadline nor showed me any communication proving the expiry of the reservation to Kruger. They speculated on COVID pandemic!!!!
