- dzim20130 contributionsBest Day EverMyAfrica's very own, Never and Stephan/Stephen were our guides and I'd like to give Never a special mention. As Zimbabweans, we've had the honour of doing many Safaris over the years, but today was different. Never made it super personalised, going the extra mile to ensure we left having seen every animal on our lists. His in depth knowledge shone through and he was very passionate about his job. As my toddler put it, 'best day ever!,'Written 26 December 2024

- GJ_Groenendijk0 contributionsOne stop shop for all excursions around HoedspruitWhen we were in Hoedspruit, we let My Africa Adventures arrange all our excursions for the week. We tried almost everything: Hot Air Balloon, Massages, Afternoon Safari, Dinner in the Bush, Panorama Route, Jessica the Hippo, Quad Safari, Kruger Park, Elephant Interaction, etc. They even arranged a chef in our villa to prepare a six-course dinner with wine pairing. They did an amazing job, communication was easy, and small changes were no issue at all. We can truly recommend them to everyone.Written 6 September 2024
- 663lisettev0 contributionsEpic African Adventure with My AfricaFrom the moment we booked our trip through Zimbabwe and Botswana with My Africa Tours, we knew we were in for an epic adventure. And it certainly didn't disappoint! Our guide Josh was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We usually don't camp so it was nice to have someone around that helped us with everything. Josh patiently shared his knowledge of the bush with us. We learned a lot about all the animals, the plants and the landscapes we travelled through. We travelled with a 5 year old and Josh taught him everything about animal tracks, bush life and making campfires. While we usually travel independently, it was so nice to have a guide around so we could fully enjoy the adventure without worrying about practicalities. The Zimbabwe & Botswana tour of My Africa Tours starts in Hwange in Zimbabwe, which is an incredible beautiful National Park. Then the travel continues to Chobe National Park in Botswana, the magical Okavango Delta, the salt plains of Makgadikgadi and finally, Tuli Wilderness Park. When asked what the highlight of our trip was, we couldn't answer. How does one choose between camping in a Big 5 area, meeting meerkats at sunrise, watching dozens of hippo's, standing face to face with a leopard and watching the most incredible African sunsets every night? This trip is an adventure of a lifetime and we cannot recommend My Africa Tours enough. Josh & My Africa, thank you for this epic adventure!Written 26 August 2024

- MaartjeVD100 contributionsAmazing game drives with My AfricaWe did 4 game drives with My Safari and it was amazing! We did a bush dinner and that was so special, having dinner in the dark in a game reserve🌅. We went to Krugerpark and there we almost saw the big 5 (except for the rhino) and many other animals. The day after we did another gamedrive and we saw the rhino, and some cheetahs. It was really amazing. The guys were very good at finding the animals and knew what to do. Thanks so much! We really recommend to go on a trip with My Africa.Written 10 August 2024
- 591kimberleyk0 contributionsAmazing game drive! My family and I undertook 2 game drives with Shane as our driver both times and Aaron and Collins as spotters. Blue Canyon Game reserve is only 15 - 20 mins from Hoedspruit and is the perfect size for a 4 hour game drive. Shane our driver was knowledgeable, funny and so willing to share his knowledge. We had 4 adults and 2 kids (11 and 9) and they thoroughly enjoyed the drives. The adults of the group had been to South Africa multiple times and done numerous game drives. These were the best we’ve ever done! We saw lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, rhino, giraffe, zebra, baboon, crocodile, many antelope and beautiful birds. My Africa were so easy to deal with and on time and organised. Would highly recommend.Written 4 August 2024
- kaatm20210 contributionsBucketlist worthyWe did 2 safaris with My Africa. First we did a whole day safari in Kruger. Due to low season we had "a private tour". We had an amazing day because of Petrus. He came to pick us up at our lodge early in the morning. He made sure to bring blankets because it was freezing cold the moment he picked us up. The whole day was super interesting and informative due to Petrus. His knowledge and enthousiasm about the animals is admirable. He was very invested for us to see as many animals as possible. During the whole day he would ask if we were okay. He made sure that we could take some amazing pictures. Our second safari was a sunrise safari. For this we had Dumi as a guide. He is not so much a guide as an animal tracker. We are still in awe about how he was able to find all the animals to show us. Because of him we were 4 feet away from a rhino, a male lion and 2 cheetahs. He's an amazing driver and guide. He know the game reserve like the back of his hand. We had the most amazing time. Definitly recommend My Africa for your safaris. Big shout out to Petrus and Dumi to tick off some of our bucketlist items and to make our trip so memorable.Written 2 August 2024
- Ann-Lie0 contributionsFantastic safari experiences all booked through my AfricaWe stayed in villa Blaaskans on Zandspruit estate (homesofafrica.com) and booked a morning, an evening safari with bush dinner, a quad safari and a bush walk safari through my Africa. All four safari's were once in a lifetime experiences! The morning safari with Aurelo was so great, he did everything to try to let us see as many animals as possible. The evening safari with bush dinner we saw elephants drinking from really close, an african wild dog attacking a young elephant and the reaction of the big elephants to the attack, we saw a hyena but the bush dinner made it so special. Really good food and what an experience! Also the quad safari was real fun with Andy, wear clothes that can become dirty! But so great to do this with the Drakensbergen as a backdrop. The best was the bush walk with Werner! What a ranger, so knowledgeable, we always felt safe and learned so much. Werner showed us lions from real close. We also saw a black rhino from the car and a white rhino while walking... it was incredible! I can only say the MyAfrica is word every penny you spend with them. If we ever come back to Hoedspruit we definately book again via Tash who is extremely helpful! Thank you Tash, Aurelo, Andy and Werner!!!Written 1 August 2024

I’ll start by saying we are fairly seasoned safari goers and, having been fortunate to have spent time at some high end lodges over the years, we are not easily impressed. Trails Camp - what a find! MyAfrica has quite simply, just got it right. The location, the furnishings, the food and, most importantly the people - everything was spot on.
If you’re after an authentic bush sleep out, with the comfort of a tent, a (chemical) portable toilet and a view to die for, then this is the experience for you.
I could wax lyrical for days about our guide, Werner, but two words really sum him up - simply awesome. We loved every minute we spent with him, learning about his vast experience as a guide. His knowledge of all things ‘bush’ was second to none, but the way he conversed with the elephants was like nothing we’d seen before. A true legend of a man that we were calling the ‘Elephant Whisperer’ by the end of our stay!
Harry (our chef for the evening) and Stephen (camp aid) were both lovely too. Friendly and fun.
We loved it so much that we are trying to rearrange our plans to allow us to return before we head home.
Well done MyAfrica team. It was a pleasure being part of this new experience.

We really enjoyed our holiday in South Africa (Hoedpsruit). Your efforts made our holiday unforgettable. From the various game drives we made to the unforgettable trial camp. Everything was arranged by you down to the last detail. Many thanks to the guides during our various trips. If there were any higher marks to give than a 10, we would have given them to you. Partly due to your efforts, Hoedspruit has a place in our hearts.

In early October, we went on a Trails Camp with MyAfrica with a group of four. Upon arrival at the meeting point, we immediately went on safari with Werner, our guide for the next two days. As we entered the park, he mentioned that two lions were nearby, having caught a waterbuck the night before. And indeed, after less than 10 minutes of driving, we saw the lions with their kill! Certainly not a bad start to the safari. The rest of the afternoon was also full of sights, with plenty of elephants, hippos, waterbucks, bushbucks, and much more. But what makes the park truly special in our eyes is the Olifants River. It naturally attracts many animals but also creates a stunning landscape.
After a safari of about three hours, we arrived at the Trails Camp, beautifully situated in the partially dried-up riverbed. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by elephants and hippos at the river. The camp exceeded our expectations; the tents were luxurious with comfortable beds, there was even an improvised toilet tent, the food was good, and the staff incredibly friendly. After a welcome drink and some time around the campfire, we sat down for a delicious dinner prepared on the Braai. We enjoyed this wonderful evening with great conversations with Werner during dinner and by the campfire.
The next morning we went on an early safari. The plan was to first do a short safari and look for fresh rhino tracks to follow on foot. It turned out that they were too far away and in a hilly area that was not accessible on foot, but luckily, we did find them thanks to Werner's tracking skills. Definitely a special mention for Werner; his knowledge and guiding skills are amazing!
After a fun morning safari, we returned to the camp and were treated to a delicious breakfast. Unfortunately, after breakfast it was already time to leave. We would drive to the exit via a safari, but this took longer than expected. We drove past the spot where we had seen the lions with their kill the day before. But now, instead of the two lions from yesterday, we found three or four lionesses who had likely stolen the kill. It soon became clear that they weren’t alone, as we saw several lions and their cubs crossing the river from the other side. It was truly special to witness! Eventually, they joined the feeding lionesses. A once-in-a-lifetime sighting of lions first crossing the river and then enjoying their (stolen) prey!
All in all, we will never forget this entire experience! Everything was so well organized, and the camp's location is breathtakingly beautiful. The fact that it is completely private makes it even more special, as it gives you the freedom to discuss and plan the safaris with the guide and even go on a bushwalk if you want. Once again, thank you to Werner and the rest of the staff for this unforgettable experience!
