        What an amazing experience
We were a bit reticent after some of the other reviews, but we had a great day. Our game reserve driver was good, too, and we felt safe in the truck. I'm not sure if the animals were fed before our drive, but we managed to see 4 of the big 5, as well as the many other animals there, and it was an amazing experience!!! Just remember, this isn't a national park. It is a reserve, but you still can't be guaranteed to see the animals. We were lucky, and I have some of the most amazing photos. Lunch wasn't great despite the various options, but we hadn't been well, so we ate little anyway and got snacks on the way. Bring plenty to drink as they aren't provided as part of lunch or get them when your driver does the pit stops. The complimentary wine was interesting. The journey there and back was longer than expected as we were 1st/last pick up, and the route was a bit uncomfortable at times, but the guide was very nice. And ge treated us to a stop with the rescued lion cub!!! Don't forget cash for tips for both drivers if you are happy with your experience.

        Best experience
I came for a safari or two, and that is what I got. The morning safari was better than the late afternoon one as it was cooler and more animals were out and about. To be so close to magnificent wild animals is fantastic. Aquila itself was ok. The spa area was very relaxing, sun loungers around the pool comfortable and entertainment from the local monkeys trying their luck - sometimes quite comical watching the staff chase them away. The food was standard and a buffet. The room, however, wasn't the best. We had a funny smell on entry and, on further investigation, discovered dirty sanitary wear in the bathroom bin. Once emptied, the smell disappeared. There was way too much furniture, making it seem cluttered, and the bathroom door was opaque - you could see the outline of the person using it.

Good game drives, horrible food, mass tourism.
Good game drives, horrible food, mass tourism. The game drives were good traveling with 2 small kids. The guide was passionate and it was fun discovering the animals with him. The rest of the resort was not really enjoyable. The room was not cleaned properly (we found used underwear) and the food was disgusting.

        Fun Experience
We had a great time at Aquila. This is the perfect experience if you want to get a taste of what a real safari could be like. It is on a preserve. But we did see all the animals including lions, rhinos, elephants and zebras. We really did have fun and our tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. The breakfast and lunch buffets included were fine. You will find something to eat if you choose to. I recommend this experience.

Relaxing, big 5 and pretty place
The guide was very friendly and happy to help and the day was planned out perfectly with a lovely lunch of fresh salad and other foods followed by a wonderful safari in which I was able to see 4/5 of the big 5. Aquila is a gorgeous place and I would definitely recommend visiting.

        A heartwarming get-away
I have visited Aquila with my 4-year old in February and opted for an overnight stay. We loved it all, we have seen the big 5, enjoyed excellent lunch and dinner and superb pool facilities. One person has made a particularly strong impression on my and made this stay a heartwarming long-term memory. It was Jasmine from the nursery who put all her love and dedication to entertain my son for the entire morning prior to our departure. What a lady.... Aquila please do cherish this fantastic colleague of yours :D

Afternoon tea experience I won't forget
Such a special experience. A beautiful room, with lovely service and yummy tea and food. After the afternoon tea, they let us sit outside in the garden and enjoy. Felt welcome and blissful here. Wish I was still in that garden!

The guides were amazing. They recognized we liked birds and made the effort to point them out to us. A beautiful ride there and back. We saw everything but the dolphins.

Nearly 5 star well worth a visit
Lovely place and staff in the middle of no where We hired a car and stayed the night with an afternoon and morning game drives Star gazing was spectacular on the evening and food was plentiful and nice. Drinks very reasonable priced Would have been 5 stars but only let down was one electric two slice toaster not enough for all the guests and safari drives too short But all in all a must visit if in cape town

        Exciting wildlife tour
The entire experience was great. We saw all the animals really close up. The scenery on the way to the reserve was wonderful. Would highly recommend this tour.

Organized considering the number of participants. Sighting all the big animals was amazing being able to see them up close

        Great 10/10
Great experience. Easy pick up from our villa, safe secure journey prompt timing. We got taken to the safari few hours away and stopped for a little break along the way. Played music in the car on the journey. When we got there there was lunch and drinks, didn’t eat but looks decent. Stunning grounds great for pics. Then we left on the tour. It was great, such great history and information and a clear guide, it was a great ride and we stopped for pictures. 10/10 experience do it!!!

        Completely disappointing!
This is not the luxury experience that its website promises. The standard of the accommodation is poor, very tired. There is no sense of pride, and the excellent service that the website talks about is just not there. The food was the biggest disappointment. It was like school dinners and a school canteen. Tasteless slop with no thought given to presentation whatsoever. Seeing a few animals lessened the blow but note it is not a proper safari, more like a safari park … in fact there is one in yorkshire near where I live which isn’t as big but you are more animals.

        Underwhelming visit
After a fantastic 2week in cape town /wine lands we headed to our finale which was supposed to be the highlight / crescendo of the holiday - Aquila safari . Not so. On booking you are promised a luxury experience the rooms are delightfully described as is the food /service etc as high end luxury. Our expectations were high and were sadly not met in any respect. The food…buffet style slop, tasteless, very poorly presented, like being in a low end all-inclusive. The Karoo cottage…far from luxury accommodation, a tired dingy space with no outlook. The service…was acceptable but by no means award-winning like the website said. The safari…,4 tame pet lions, a handful of buffaloes, 3 elephants, apparently some rhinos Disappointing .. I feel the whole experience is grossly misrepresented and very overpriced for what it actually is.
