        Amazing Safari Experience from Durban
I had a fantastic time on the half day safari. There was only myself and one other person on this tour, which made it much more private and personal. Our guide, Fortune, was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent information and tips throughout the day. Fortune stopped on the way to the game reserve and told us to buy some apples for the elephants. When we arrived, there were dozens of tourists there, but we were the only ones who were able to feed the elephants, which made it a much more wonderful and memorable experience. Fortune was also patient and persistent in locating all the animals within the game reserve. We were able to see all the animals that Tala Game Reserve had to offer within our time there. A once in a lifetime experience! It was an awesame and unforgettable safari tour. Thank you Fortune, and Zulu Safaris!

        Great tour and excellent guide!
Our driver/guide Freddy was amazing. We stopped at 2 animal parks. Saw lions & elephants at 1st park and rhinos, zebras, giraffes and other animals at 2nd park. Freddy knew exactly where to find a few of the more hidden animals. Tour vehicle arrived on time and had our name displayed and we were returned on time. Great tour and I would highly recommend it. Had 9 people total in our group and all were thrilled with the experience.

        A great trip
Booked this tour last minutes due to cancelled flights and the company were extremely accommodating. The guide Bafana was lovely, friendly and knowledgeable going about and beyond to make sure I saw all the animals and got lovely pictures. Thanks so much for the experience

        Really good safari
Absolutely fantastic trip, Thami went above and beyond to get us up close to the giraffes in particular. Good comms, suv transport ideal, picked us up from the cruise terminal in good time. Far better value and quality than the ship trip offered. We would recommend without hesitation - Thami was a star.

Lovely 1/2 trip to Tala Reserve with Zulu Safaris
At short notice we arranged a private tour with Zulu Safaris from Durban after our ship docked at Durban for the day. We had a very enjoyable 1/2 day tour, visiting the Natal Lion Park and the Tala Reserve. We thoroughly enjoyed the company and conversations with our tour guide/driver Chris who looked after us and acted as our guide, teacher and driver and we saw lots of interesting things at both parks we visited. We both came away with lovely memories and would return in a heartbeat. Thankyou to all at Zulu Safaris

Great experience - Durban to Drakensberg.
We had a great experience and excellent, personalized attention from Bafana and Sotiris on an overnight from Durban through Pietermarizburg to Drakensberg. Their extensive experience and passion as hosts made for a very memorable experience.

Amazing Interaction with the Animals and great Tour Guide
Went to the 1st Zulu Safari Tour with my family. Our tour guide was Fortune, who was a really nice individual and answered the many questions my dad asked about the safari and Durban in general. He made sure we had plenty of stops so we could use the toilet. He made sure we had the best views and gave us plenty of time to take pictures. Highlight of the trip was feeding the elephants and the Lion-s blocking us from leaving which was quite funny. The Tala reserve had an array of animals which was wonderful to see, we got up and close with the Zebras and surprisingly they did not run away. We saw the Rhinos at the end of the tour as we were leaving, which was amazing to see such an endangered species. Fortune dropped us closer to where we were staying which was so helpful to get home. Really recommend going on this tour and with this tour guide.

        A good overview of Durban
Aaron was our guide and he did a serviceable job of showing us the sights of Durban and explaining some of the cultural history and important events in the history of the area. We also felt safe on our tour with him.

        Great trip! Would recommend!
This was a great tour. The views along the way are beautiful, but they really become stunning when you get to the pass. The tour guide, Frederick, was very knowledgeable and nice and was a great driver! The trip into Lesotho was good and the pub certainly not to miss!

        The greatest guide
The trip itself was absolutely spectacular but I must say it was made 1000x better by our guide Aaron, he went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and make the trip as enjoyable as possible. We loved spending time with him throughout the trip and made our time so enjoyable.

Wouldnt recommend Two Day Battlefield Tour
We booked with Zulu Safaris to do a 2 Day Battlefield Tour in October 2023. This was advertised as a having a qualified Tour Guide. Departure was to be from their office at the Gooderson Tropicana Hotel so we booked accomodation handy for an early pickup. They havent had an office there for several years. We ended up with a driver who sat with his car at the sites we visited. We got pointed in the general direction of the museum and videos to watch at the sites. But there was no guided tour by our "tour guide" at any of the sites to get an explanation or a better understanding of the battles that occured. Which is why we went. The photo on Zulu Safaris web site of a guide talking to a group at Isandlwana is not what we got. We were left to wander around on our own and try our best to interpret the site. We knew that we had to pay for lunch but on the second day, there was nothing organised. We were lucky to be able to tag onto another group at Fugitives Drift Lodge for lunch on Day 2. We had a puncture in the hot part of the day in the middle of nowhere and the driver had trouble finding where the jack parts were and didnt know how to change a tyre safely - ie put a stone in front of the wheel so that the car didnt roll off the jack!!!We had difficulty understanding his English (and vice versa) so it was very difficult to ask questions about the country we were travelling through and the sites. When the driver dropped us off at our accommodation back at Durban, he just drove off - no hand shake, nothing. We got the distinct impression that he didnt really want to be there for those 2 days. Although we complained and got a small refund, I would not recommend using Zulu Safaris to do a guided tour of these battlefields. You would get much better guides if you booked direct at the accommodation Lodges at Isandlwana or Fugitives Drift. It was an expensive disappointment for us.

Great tourist spot. Lovely priced cafe and gift shop
We liked our visit a few days ago booked with ING Tours in Durban. As part of our Azamara cruise. Always use independent guides as cheaper and smaller groups. Loved 🥰 the Zulu wedding dance. Geared up for tourists. Don’t miss the cafe, the food is excellent and the view you can’t beat. Held a beautiful female python too - crocs interesting. Clean toilets with plenty of hand soap 🧼 (unlike lots of African stops we’ve been to). Gift shop was well priced (unlike getting ripped off at Victoria falls)

We only had one day in Durban on a cruise. We were collected from the dock and taken to Whale-Bone Pier and the lighthouse, then onto the stadium, the government offices, a local market then the botanic gardens (my favourite bit I would have liked more time there!) Finally, to a vantage point for photos then returned to the ship in good time. A really good trip.

There were about 5 couples from our ship on the tour. The pickup was a bit haphazard although it was raining. Freddie was entertaining and definitely into his plants and trees in the rain. He was a good driver, helpful towards everyone and should be commended for his care. The van would have benefited from a sound system/microphone and the company should ensure that everything inside is functioning. The tour gave a good overview of the city.

I went on this tour with some co-workers; the entire tour itself was great. We hit about 5 stops, starting with a stop at the harbor near Nelson Mandela Cruise Terminal--you don't get out, but the guide gave us some information on the ships. The highlights of the tour were Victoria Street Market and the Botanic Garden.

Benson was our guide and that guy is HILARIOUS but also very friendly and knowledgeable. We bought a lot of nice things at the market. We were warned by a lot of locals that you need to be careful going to the market because of crime and shoplifting. We had no issues but maybe because we were in a group. If you go solo, just go inside the building to shop--not on the street. You'll find a lot of good souvenirs in the market. You HAVE to go to this one shop that Benson recommended--his friend manages it, and she is great. Really liked her and she was super nice.

The Botanic Garden tour with Vish--WOW. That guy knew so much about the trees and plant life and is an EXCELLENT photographer as well. Benson told us about him and for only R100 ($5 USD) he takes you on an exceptional 30 minute (if not longer) tour. Highly recommend and make sure you tip him. That guy is great!

One not-so-great stop was at the stadium--we weren't able to go in and only got out and walked around. If this is something you want to see, you may want to do that on your own.

Overall, hands down, this is a must-do tour. Benson was great and super helpful, and Vish really impressed us on the Botanic Garden tour.

Our Tour guide Christo came to pick us up and it was the best tour guide you could want/hope for. He took us to the city and town hall, to the traditional medicine market and the Museum of Gandhi and the apartheid museum( we had a power cut in the middle of it) He also drove us through rich areas and some shanti town areas, so we had a balanced view of Durban. Shopping in a market was great fun. The botanical gardens are amazing. Well worth it , we really enjoyed our time with Christo.

Nice tour, the guides Alain and his wife were delightful company. I wish I could have gotten a more comprehensive history throughout the tour. Overall, I enjoyed the experience very much. I just wish I could have walked more around the city. The botnica garden was nice. But since I love architecture I was hoping to be able to see more historical buildings. Still very insightful experience
      Especially the market.
