        Fantastic Durban Experience
Loved the trip and Durban. Fortune was a kind and very courteous driver, patient and ready to provide solutions where help was not forthcoming for example at the Durban Gardens, he became the guide and at the John Dube Center (it was raining too). He was a young happy soul with good suggestions and ideas.

The views were amazing and the guides took really good care of as a single female traveler and on the elderly side. I would thoroughly recommend this company and their guides.

Great half day safari, close to Durban!
Our tour guide was fabulous! Very knowledgeable and tried very hard to find animals for use. We were taken to see the lions up close and fed some elephants. Everything was very well organised.

        Amazing Safari Experience from Durban
I had a fantastic time on the half day safari. There was only myself and one other person on this tour, which made it much more private and personal. Our guide, Fortune, was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent information and tips throughout the day. Fortune stopped on the way to the game reserve and told us to buy some apples for the elephants. When we arrived, there were dozens of tourists there, but we were the only ones who were able to feed the elephants, which made it a much more wonderful and memorable experience. Fortune was also patient and persistent in locating all the animals within the game reserve. We were able to see all the animals that Tala Game Reserve had to offer within our time there. A once in a lifetime experience! It was an awesame and unforgettable safari tour. Thank you Fortune, and Zulu Safaris!

        Great tour and excellent guide!
Our driver/guide Freddy was amazing. We stopped at 2 animal parks. Saw lions & elephants at 1st park and rhinos, zebras, giraffes and other animals at 2nd park. Freddy knew exactly where to find a few of the more hidden animals. Tour vehicle arrived on time and had our name displayed and we were returned on time. Great tour and I would highly recommend it. Had 9 people total in our group and all were thrilled with the experience.

        Really good safari
Absolutely fantastic trip, Thami went above and beyond to get us up close to the giraffes in particular. Good comms, suv transport ideal, picked us up from the cruise terminal in good time. Far better value and quality than the ship trip offered. We would recommend without hesitation - Thami was a star.

Lovely 1/2 trip to Tala Reserve with Zulu Safaris
At short notice we arranged a private tour with Zulu Safaris from Durban after our ship docked at Durban for the day. We had a very enjoyable 1/2 day tour, visiting the Natal Lion Park and the Tala Reserve. We thoroughly enjoyed the company and conversations with our tour guide/driver Chris who looked after us and acted as our guide, teacher and driver and we saw lots of interesting things at both parks we visited. We both came away with lovely memories and would return in a heartbeat. Thankyou to all at Zulu Safaris

        Great highlight tour of Durban
Christo was an excellent tour guide. He knows so much about Durban and South Africa. It was a great way to see highlights of the city in a short time (I only had a few hours while on a business trip).

Ndu Nene Picked my wife and myself up from the hotel at 9.00am and we went straight to the Phezulu village. We were very lucky as there were only another three people on the tour and we became friends! Dancing at the village and explanations given was really well done and we had the opportunity to see and then taste the local Zulu beer! The crocodiles and snakes was something else especially handling a young Python!
The itinerary was great including a 45minute stroll around the botanical gardens with Ndu explanations of all the interesting plants and trees. The highlight of the tour for me was the walk through the medicine market. The smells and what was on display will be with us for ever. I never imagined that we would be allowed to walk through as we did!
All the other aspects of the tour was superb. Definitely recommend and a very big thank you to Ndu Nene

Fred from Zulu Safaris was our tour guide.

First we made our way to the Phezulu Village which is a show village where they put on a humorous show in traditional costume for the audience. Although the village covers a small area, it has been recreated very well. There’s also a café and souvenir shop there.

Right next to the Phezulu Village is the Reptile Park to which we proceeded next. We saw numerous crocodiles some of them way up close, including baby crocs that are small enough to fit on the palm of your hand (they are in a protected enclosure, though). The local guide of the facility was very well versed and she presented us with tons of interesting facts on crocodiles. There were also enclosures for a number of different snakes and also chameleons. A very informative stop indeed!

Following this we made our way to see the sights of Durban and it is here that Fred was in full form explaining to us all the facts of the sights we saw. We visited Victoria Market and also walked through the Zulu market, which is unique and an absolute must see for all tourists. Then on to Ushaka Marine Walk where we had lunch. After lunch, we walked the beach road with Fred all the way upto the Moyo restaurant at the end of the pier with great views of the beach and surrounding area. Fred covered many historical facts with the ease of a professional.

Next, we drove around the rest of central Durban including the government buildings and the Marina before heading to the Durban Botanical Gardens, which is a very beautiful and peaceful place. Fred’s knowledge on the plant life within this garden was astounding as it was almost as if he knew every type of tree on the route we walked. Having the Dubai Botanical Gardens as part of this full day tour was really a highlight as we learned a great deal about some of the rare species of plants and trees that were housed in the garden. Of particular interest was the orchids section which houses a dazzling array of orchids and then the ‘Garden of the Senses’ which houses plants that provide different sensory experiences.

The Museum was closed on the day of our trip so we drove through other areas of Durban such as Florida street and made a photo stop at a location off an elevated road, from which we could get a beautiful and unfettered view of Durban with the stadium and the sea front area. We then made a brief stop to view the huge statue of Lord Shiva at a Hindu Temple close by, following which we drove to the Moses Mabhida stadium.

Special thanks to Fred for stopping for us to buy a sim card on the way back to the hotel and also for taking us to the local Pick and Pay store near the hotel at our request. Because it was past sundown he refused to let us walk the distance and waited for us instead, finally dropping us off right at our hotel doorstep.

Truly a day well spent with Fred - a fabulous tour guide!

This was a private visit with my partner, the drive from Durban to PheZulu was about 45 minutes, the visit was very informative, we learned about the culture of the Zulus, how to brew the traditional Zulu sorghum beer, we also have a taste of the beer, the traditional Zulu hurt was fascinating, we learned about the traditional food like samp with tripe, the Zulu dance was very spectaculer.

Had a brilliant day, picked me up on time and took me to the Zulu Village. Very interesting insight into their way of life and the reptiles the house there. Then went on the city tour where the guide took me to all the hotspots with great knowledge of the area. Guide was extremely easy to talk to, had a great sense of humour and would definitely recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see what Durban has to offer.

After pick up at our hotel, we started off by visiting 1000 Hills Valley to see the Zulu Village and Reptile Farm. The village is a replica but you still get a good sense of village life. The cultural part was entertaining. The reptile farm provided opportunities to handle some of the non-venomous animals

The Durban City highlights tour does not cover the city in depth of course but provides a good overview. It enables you to know whether you want to return to any specific place to spend more time

We met the owner Christos at the end and he was very helpful with some advice for our ongoing travels.

Because of Tour Guides like Johnny Matthews, we will keep us using Viator as our go-to Tour Agency. Johnny was so friendly, informative, and accommodating for our small Group Tour. He knows the Durban history and it’s local peoples very well - and they know and respect him. He knows so many people on the Street, Vendors, Police, etc. that we suggested that he run for Mayor! Highlights were some behind-the-scene places that other Tours could not access. He provided pickup and transportation and even got two additional Security guys while walking the Sidewalks. Our Safety was his paramount concern, and we felt at ease throughout the day. Please extend our additional thanks to Johnny.
      We highly recommend this Tour.
