        Sensational Safari Experience!!
My husband and I have just come back from a 4 day safari with Wild Wings in Kruger National Park in South Africa. This experience was truly sensational from start to finish! We were recommended to go with Wild Wings by a good friend and we were not disappointed, they have given us the trip of a lifetime. Booking was super easy, we dealt with Michael who throughout the whole process of booking was super helpful and couldn’t do enough for us in terms of answering questions and giving us all the information we needed, he was a great help. Our guide for the safari was Nikki, she is awesome! Her knowledge of the park and all the animals no matter what the shape or size was incredible, we learnt so much from her. When watching wildlife there is no guarantee on seeing anything however we were super lucky and got to see all the animals we wanted to, now of course this is partly down to luck but a huge part of it was Nikki’s guiding expertise of the park itself and her knowledge of the animals. As a result we were able to be in the right place at the right time for so many unforgettable sightings! We can’t thank you enough Nikki for making this trip extremely special! We would highly recommend Wild Wings Safari company for anyone wanting a truly mesmerizing wildlife experience. We will certainly be using them again in the future, thank you Wild Wings!!

A family holiday we will remember forever
Since we came all the way from The Netherlands and had saved for this trip for years, we wanted to make the most of our time together as a family. Wild Wings gave us several suggestions, one of which was to do the Panorama route and 5-day Kruger safari, a total of 7 days with a guide. This proved to be excellent advice. We loved every minute of our week, from beginning to end. We were picked up by the friendly guide Simon, from our airport hotel in Jo'burg. We then travelled to Graskop where we stayed for 2 nights. We loved the swimming pool with a view - next to our chalet! Over the next 48 hours we visited several highlights of the Panorama route: God's Window, Berlin Falls, Mac Mac Pools, etc. A very relaxing and beautiful start to our holiday. Simon arranged the breakfasts and dinners, which were delicious and rich! After this we travelled to Skukuza to discover the Kruger. Before we even entered the camp we had already seen impala, many elephants (up close!), hippos, crocodiles and zebras. The next day Simon found rhinos for us, which took quite a drive, but he and us persevered. For the final 2 days we stayed in Satara, were we saw many female and male lions up close, the white lion Casper, more crocodiles and hippos and a lot of elephants, giraffes, buffalo and zebras. We were impressed with Simon's hard work, his kindness, his dedication to his profession, his love for and knowledge of the animals and the personal touch. The meals were exquisite too. Despite the fact that the days were long (early starts and long drives), we wish they would have been even longer. There was just so much to see and do, even though we had booked the longest of the 'Best of Kruger' options. Simon was always on time and flexible too. The tour was very affordable and worth every cent! The only problem is that we were hit with a virus: the Kruger virus has now infected us! We want to come back as soon as we can. We have already started saving for the next time. Thank you for everything, Wild Wings!

The Adventures of Leopold the Leopard Tortoise (cracking 5-star experience for a first time safari-goer)
Please forgive the Review Title - an inside joke that hopefully brings a chuckle to those in the know! I was recently over in South Africa for a wedding and decided to make a trip of it with a safari. Having researched Trip Advisor I came across Wild Wings and decided to book. There were two of us that went on the Safari with Simon, and I have to say it was a faultless experience! From the communication prior to leaving, the clear itinerary on what to expect and the ease of booking it was a seemless process; however it is difficult to put into words the quality of the experience once we had arrived! We booked the 4-day Safari experience and were picked up from our hotel in Johannesburg exactly on time. Our guide, Simon, was brilliant! An awesome sense of humour had us in stitches at times and it almost felt like another mate along for the trip. It was clear that he was highly knowledgeable from the first moment and the other guides in the park seemed to come to him consistently for advice and guidance. Simon also had a super keen eye - at one point he was able to spot a Leopard in a tree from so far away that we even struggled to see it through binnoculars! His passion for the animals shone through - exemplified by stories of older animals we came across that Simon had known for many years and he could share stories of their prime years with us. The food was excellent, with our guide cooking for us and joining for dinner / drinks each night and it felt like the perfect experience for two first timers on Safari. We saw pretty much every animal we had hoped to see, some multiple times, with the vehicle being comfortable and spaceous and the acoomodation being exactly what it said on the tin. Brilliant humour, engaging people and memories that will last a lifetime. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome experience and guide.

        Five star, Five day Kruger!
Great experience with Wild Wings Safari. After sending some details to Mike Malan he booked a video call with us to really understand what sort of adventure we were looking for. We booked the five day four night safari with guide, in park accommodations at Skukuza and Satara camps inside of Kruger. Wanting the full experience and to maximize our chance of seeing wildlife we also wanted to book with a private reserve. Mike sent us a few private camps to review and choose from, selecting Thambamati for another five days, four nights. Prior to making our way to Kruger, one of us came down with a travel illness while in Cape Town for a few days. We unfortunately had to cancel our Panorama route tour, but Mike could not have been more caring and helpful. He had booked us at Perry's Bridge Hollow, a wonderful spot, a beautiful room to recuperate in. Mike even arranged for a transfer from the hotel to a local pharmacy. He spoke to the pharmacist himself and we only needed to go and pick up some items which resulted in making it possible to carry on to the Safari. Eventually we made it to Kruger. Simon, one of Wild Wings founding staff, was our guide. He took great care of us, cooking delicious (and generous) meals, was so knowledgeable about the park and the wildlife and as a bonus an excellent photographer himself. We felt as though we were on a photographic safari, as he knew just how to position the vehicle for lighting and views for his and our photo's. His relationships with other guides and parks staff resulted in us seeing all of the Big five a number of times including Rhino and a White Lion. Simons enthusiasm for even the smallest of creatures and birds resulted in an incredible safari, truly unforgettable. The four nights, five days is an excellent way to see a large area of the overall park. Your guide checks you in and out of your room so all is taken care of for you. The park accommodations are basic, two or three single beds in a room, your own shower / toilet. Beds were comfortable, sheets and towns provided and nice. The chalets that we stayed in were also air conditioned and had basic kitchens. Not that we needed the kitchen, as Simon did all the cooking (either at a picnic spot on the drive) or back at his Chalet. Wild Wings packs in the activities, morning drives are not limited by time and so you sometimes stay out until the early afternoon. Evening drives are shorter but an after dark drive (from 8:00-10:00 pm) is organized by Wild Wings and provided by the Kruger Park staff. Also included is a four hour bush walk! As Simon noted and likes to say, you don't go on Safari for a vacation. Yes you are up early and there is lots to do and see but you are so well taken care of, and there is time for a nap or two, that you will wish you had booked more days in the park. Luckily for us Wild Wings had organized the transfer to Thambamati where we shifted from basic to more luxury accomodations. If you can, we recommend doing the same. Neither experience is better than the other, just different. It was wonderful to do both and if fortunate enough to ever visit again we would visit both the park and the private reserve - and of course all would be booked through Wild Wings.

Could not ask for better service
Our safari was organized well in advance of our trip, but the communication was excellent. They booked great hotels and safari camps for us, and there was someone to meet us at every stop on our journey. A truly memorable experience.

Amazing experience during 5 Day Kruger safari
We took a 5 days Best of Kruger safari with Wild Wings Safari and it was one of the best experiences in our lives. Nicky was our guide and she was doing her best to make sure that we have a great time and see as much as possible. She is very cheerful, helpful and energetic person and has outstanding knowledge about animals and Kruger Park itself. Nicky is also an excellent cook, breakfasts and dinners that she has prepared for us were delicious, we didn’t expect that. I also appreciated help and all the tips provided by Michael. When I first contacted him he spent over an hour on the phone with me to explain everything and recommend the best options not only for safari but our trip in South Africa in general. I definitely recommend to book a guided-tour for a safari rather than make a self-drive because it makes a huge difference in terms of overall experience. Sitting in an open car with great visibility boosts your reception of nature. Moreover it is totally worth to book a 5 days option as your chances of spotting different animals increases significantly. You also have an opportunity to visit central/northern part of the park which is even more beautiful. Thank you Wild Wings safari for an amazing service and safari of our dreams which we will never forget!

        11/10 Experience!
My husband and I leveraged Wild Wings Safaris services when planning our Honeymoon in South Africa. We came upon the company through a recommendation for a friend and we are so glad we did! We really wanted to do a safari on our trip but we were overwhelmed by planning this component. We were put in contact with Mike Malan at the company who helped plan the safari of our dreams! He provided an outstanding recommendation for a lodge and even secured us a discount and extra perks for our honeymoon. He set up airport transfers and gave us clear guidance on how to prepare for the trip. Throughout the process his communication was prompt and clear. We had such an amazing time on the safari that I cried when we left! Please use Wild Wings for your planning - you won't regret it.

One of the best experiences of our lives
We did the 5 Day Kruger Park and Private Lodge Safari with Wild Wings, and it was absolutely incredible. I’ll start with our guide, Nicky. She was simply fantastic, her knowledge of the animals was second to none and her enthusiasm was infectious. She made the whole safari seamless and had so much energy and passion for her job. If we were keen to have a quick lunch and head straight back out on a drive, she was just as keen to do so. She cared so much about us seeing animals and experiencing them in different situations. The accommodation in Kruger itself was basic, but completely fine. We had a lovely dinner together in the campsite so we were only ever in our accommodation to sleep. Our private lodge, Kambaku River Sands, was next level – we have never stayed anywhere like it. The accommodation was spectacular and the staff were amazing. Our room looked out to the back of the lodge where elephants would cross on their way to drink from the lodge swimming pool. Having the combination of both Kruger and the private safari lodge was just perfect. It was great to have the experience of Kruger, to see large amounts of animals, but then the private lodge to really get up close to the cats. We could have stayed a whole extra week doing the same drives, it was so special. Thank you to the entire team at Wild Wings Safaris, it was honestly one of the best weeks of our lives. We cannot wait to get in touch in the future to book another!

Rufus the Wild Wings Guide Made Our Trip
Our Wild Wings guide Rufus was the greatest guide in the world. He was so entertaining and amazingly knowledgeable. He gave me a university level education on Kruger Park including birds, animals, plants and ecology. He seemed to know more than any guide I have ever encountered. I learned the names of over 40 different birds as well as the large animals that are so awe inspiring. And we always had a good time! We saw more big animals than I thought possible in our 5 day safari. Rufus was so perceptive of all our needs and arranged the safari in a way everyone could get the most out of it. A birder couldn’t do better and we saw all the big animals on every drive. If you are a gardener and interested in the plant life of Africa, Rufus can point out all the amazing plants and what they were used for by hunter gatherers. He was also very considerate, helpful and understanding of anyone who has a special concern. I was blown away by Wild Wings ability to arrange the trip of a lifetime!

        Great safari
Terrific safari with Rufus. We were fortunate to see all the animals we wanted to see except missed the cheetah but wow what amazing views and such close up encounters. How lucky were we to have such a dedicated guide, well organized, great cook, always a smile. Thanks for a really good experience.

Life changing safari trip - Wild Wings are a must!
If you are looking to go on a safari in South Africa, you would regret NOT going with Wild Wings. The booking process was seamless, tailored to individual needs and well organised. The information provided at the time of booking was spot on. Constant communication from the day of enquiring up until the day we were picked up in Johannesburg. The safari is perfect for the those on a budget and also has options to upgrade if that’s what you wish. We did not upgrade and the hospitality and experience was second to none. Simon the guide - where do I start… He has previously trained other safari guides and his knowledge is clear from the moment you meet him. I am sure after the trip it must have felt like an interrogation from me. I asked non stop questions to which all were answered and explained in depth with a good sense of humour added. We booked the 5 day Kruger trip and could have stayed on for another week. Simon went above and beyond with tracking and finding animals such as the cheetah and rhino. Both of which are lightly spread throughout out the park. Although he has been guiding for 20+ years, his excitement for every sighting was clear for all to see. Our drives were usually 5am - 9am, then breakfast then back out at 11am-6pm. Everyone decided if they wanted to go out for that long with some opting to go for a later drive in the day when the temperatures dropped. Simon was happy to accommodate for all. The trip was filled with humour, insightful knowledge on the natural world and good moral throughout. I have recommended to friends and family whilst currently planning my return trip. Two members of our party were on their 8th Safari in Kruger with Wild wings!!! We saw Wild dogs, Leopards, Cheetah, Elephants, Hyenas and their pups, White Rhino, Hippo’s,Buffalo, Wildebeest, Zebra and Lions (including the White male Casper!!) This was aswell as numerous birds and antelope. Any safari in Southern Africa will now always be booked through Wild Wings.

A fantastic first safari trip - we are hooked!
We booked the 5 day, 4 night combo safari trip which was a fantastic experience. From making an initial enquiry, Mike provided helpful information and answered all of my questions. The trip was well organised and the admin information was very clear and helpful. Our first two nights were spent in the Kruger National Park staying at Szukuza camp. Nicky our guide was superb. Her knowledge about the wildlife and flora in the KNP was fantastic and she went out of her way to try to locate different animals on each game drive. She even cooked for us - great breakfasts and evening meals. Our second two nights were at Arathusa private lodge in Sabi Sands which again was excellent. Would definitely recommend Wild Wings and the combo trip is a great way for a first safari trip!

AMAZING, we saw the Big Five and even more
We just came back from a 5 days safari with Rufus, our INCREDIBLE guide. Our experience was just amazing. We saw the big five and even more (Chetas and wild dogs). Rufus is a sweat, caring, he has and answer to all are questions. He knows everything about the animals, the birds and the nature. He is a guide since 17 years and he loves his job as if it was the first day. And he is a very good cook. So if you booked with Wild Wings ask for Rufus, the best!!!

        Winning Big at Kruger
We did the 5D Best of Kruger Safari tour. The first half of the safari was centered around Skukuza (Southern Kruger) and the other half was around Satara (Central Kruger). Accommodation was basic but adequate and clean. Traveling from Skukuza to Satara we got a sense of the size of the park and given the fact that the animals were wild, you never know what you will see, like participating in a game of chance. Our guide Rufus worked hard to try to meet our expectations and after that to cook really delicious meals for us. His hard work, knowledge of the area and experience definitely tipped the scales in our favor. We had many sightings with a number of sightings that were really special. These included lions chasing away hyenas, feeding and guarding their kill, a hunt in progress and cheetahs. To see a cheetah here is rare. To see a cheetah and her cubs - that is precious! So if the safari was like a game of chance, we felt like we won it big at Kruger! Thanks Rufus and Wild Wings Safaris.

I cannot say enough about how amazing this experience was with Wild Wings Safaris. Our guide Simon was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the park, including the plants, animals, birds, etc. He knew the answers to all our questions (and believe me, we had a lot of random ones) and seemed passionate and excited about what he does.

We saw the Big 5 including everything else we could have even imagined with multiple sightings of each and some very close and cool encounters with many. We saw lions, cheetah, leopards, buffalo, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, hyenas, rhino, baboons, vervet, wild dog, mongoose, a variety of birds and a few reptiles, and more I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention. We would not have had such a successful trip if it weren't for Simon knowing where to go and how to track different animals. We also appreciated how respectful he was of the animals and the environment they live in. We are in their space to observe and we never disturbed the animals.

On top of the safari, Simon prepared hot meals for us and it all tasted incredible! This was a once in a lifetime experience but if we ever do return, we won't book with anyone other than Wild Wings!

Mariana at Wild Wings listened to what we wanted and was very responsive. She
patiently kept in touch about every detail. We enjoyed our days in Kruger with Simon,
the best possible guide. The following few days at Kwambili were not as good. The place was very nice with a friendly staff. No way could Wild Wings have known that
we would get stuck with a 24 year “guide” who knew very little and was so full of himself. Next time we will just stick with Kruger.

Thank you so much for your honest review and your kind comments about Mariana and Simon! I'm really sorry to hear about your guide at Kwambili - we have not had any complaints about their guides before. Unfortunately we have no control over which specific guide is allocated at private safari lodges but we will certainly pass your feedback on to them. It is true at most safari lodges that some guides are better and more experienced than others, and hopefully feedback like yours can help this young guide improve. We hope to welcome you back to Kruger one day! Onne from Wild Wings Safaris

This whole experience was fantastic, from the booking process, which was done online over email and very easily. Friendly staff, and accurate pricing. What they said, was going to happen on the Safari, happened.

Our experience in Kruger park with our guide Simon was simply amazing- a once in a lifetime experience. Apart from David Attenborough, I don’t think anyone in the world knows more about animals than Simon. Our experience was elevated significantly due to the amount of knowledge that Simon had for the wildlife, everything from where they would be, and at what time, to understanding their behaviour and their lifecycle. As if this was not enough, the cooking that he was able to do in a campsite environment was extraordinary.

We would highly recommend the private reserve for a couple nights after the Safari inside of the Kruger Park, it was interesting to have different perspectives on viewing the game.

Thank you Simon and team for an amazing time!

Our three days in Kruger with Wild Wings and Nicky were great. Nicky picked us up near JNB the morning after we arrived in South Africa. She drove us to Kruger and spent the three days with us in the park. The game drives with Nicky were excellent. She tailored her drives to our interests, gave us plenty of time at sightings, and put us in great position for some amazing sightings.

We saw the Big Five in less than eight hours total. But, what I loved the most was how knowledgeable Nicky was about all species. We left Kruger with such a better understanding of all of the animals and really enjoyed a lot of our smaller sightings as well. Nicky was great and made sure to point out some of the smaller animals which we told her we were interested in.

While a lot of people recommended self driving to us, I was very happy we ended up booking a tour with a knowledgeable guide and an open-air vehicle. My wife and I were able to relax, scan for animals, and had a much better view in the open-air vehicle. If one of us was driving, I know we wouldn't have seen as many animals. And, Nicky kept in frequent communication with other guides and knew what to look for to put us in the best position for some amazing sightings.

We booked a six-day safari through Wild Wings that included a transfer to a private lodge after the Kruger time. When we arrived at the lodge, we felt like we had seen so many animals that whatever else we saw was just a bonus. This was great and allowed us to relax and enjoy our trip.

Clare accommodated all my questions, changes I wanted to make. It was a months tour myself and friend were booking. Not all through Wild Wings, but a majority of it, she even assisted me coordinating transport for other activities.

Our main Safari was Kruger. We had the most wonderful time, with such a charismatic, character of a guide ,Simon. The tour was perfect, you can tell you are going to have a special time when your guide has the passion Simon has, for the wildlife, for wanting the client to go away with good knowledge as well as lovely photos and memories.
I personally feel it's not a job for him, it's a lifestyle and passion.

Both myself and friend would love to return. I have already recommended Wild Wings to friends and I have even been back in contact myself for another tour with Clare at Wild Wings, that was even before I left South Africa.

Wow this was the trip of a lifetime and now all I can think about is going back again.

Let me begin by thanking Clare who helped me plan this trip in 2019 only for it to be delayed many times. She was so patient, helpful & knowledgeable and answered every email so quickly. Without her I think I would've given up on this trip ever going ahead.

Our guide Nicky was fantastic, definately miss her cooking, had great meals & a few south african desserts which were lovely. From the time we arrived in Kruger we saw loads of animals. Within the first few couple of hours we saw elephants, giraffe, antelope, a crocodile and that was just on our way to the camp. Nicky had a great eye for spotting things I never would've seen. Saw 8 rhino's & 7 leopards on our safari and too many to count elephants, zebra, warthogs, giraffe, buffalo, impala, wildebeest. I loved them all.

Thanks Wildwings for also setting us on a night drive where we saw painted dogs and their cubs and also lions with their cubs. The sunrise walk was so special I could do that every morning.

Everything about our safari was planned so well and we enjoyed it all. Weather was hot first two days but then cooled off the last couple days. Have to remember to bring warmer clothes next time.

Can't wait to do it all over again!

What an amazing experience we had with Wild Wings Safari's 3 day tour or Krueger with Panoramic Tou!!!. From start to finish, the process was easy and staff was professional. Michael communicated with us well at every step. Our guide, Rufus, was amazing!! He kept us out until the last minute before the camp gates closed in the evenings to ensure we had adequate time to see as many animals as possible. We saw the BIG FIVE including the leopard during out last morning, I had no idea in advance that we would be so close to the animals, who were oftentimes only 10 to 20 feet away. Also enjoyed the one day panoramic tour and glad we were able to see the beauty of that part of the country. The accommodations were adequate and the food was mostly better than expected. This was a college graduation trip for my son who felt the Krueger Safari was by far the highlight of our two weeks in South Africa. I highly recommend WWS for the professionalism, knowledge and experience of the staff.

Excellent experience seeing ALL the animals. Simon went above and beyond creating a fun and informative safari showing the years of experience that he has in the park and with the animals. Great dinners too. Highly recommended company.

Frank was a wonderful guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company and expertise. This trip, we went to Satara, Letaba and Mopane (with the beautiful sunset over the lake) just to experience a different side to Kruger. We had some wonderful sightings with Frank including a very early morning viewing of a stunning male lion on his own breathing hot air to the cold air outside. Another very interesting one was a hyena with cub in her mouth literally running down one of the roads at speed with this tiny thing in her mouth squeaking away. And obviously many many other cool sightings, including Caspar the white lion.

On to Kambaku River Sands - it feels a bit like home now having been there four times. Julius was a great guide and it was good to reacquaint ourselves with Douglas who we’d met on a previous trip. Again many interesting sightings including a big pack of wild dogs (and puppies) contact calling which was really eerie - never heard that before. Again the staff there are all fantastic and so so friendly. Lovely lodge.

And then on to Ngala. What a wonderful place. It had been a long held ambition of mine to see white lions and whilst we weren’t expecting to see Caspar earlier it was so exciting to see the other male white lion at Ngala (part of the Birmingham pride).

Thank you Clare and everyone at Wild Wings for yet another (my 10th) superbly organised trip - here's to 2023 and our next trip organised by Wild Wings.

We really enjoyed the experience with Wild Wings Safari.
Even during Covid-19 times and a lot of uncertainties the company organized our tour, hence we have an advantage of having small group with the guide.
The guide (in our case it Nicky) very experienced and passionate about the Safari, she will help you to find all Big5! :D
Transportation, meals and accommodation organized very well you, so don't worry about it. All heath safety measures were properly done.
Definitely worth to do it with a proper guide than with your rented car.
