Soweto - Another side of Johannesburg
We did this tour recently and Cpho was an amazing guide (one of the best in South Africa), very funny dude and answered tons of questions and provided us with lots of information. On the downside, just the area around Nelson Mandela house, it was weird how touristic it was, looked like I was transported to a touristic spot in SE Asia.

          A great experience
The company sent a driver to pick us up at our hotel in Pretoria. He was personable and friendly. When we got to the preserve, we changed vehicles and rode in an open vehicle. our guide was excellent. His knowledge of the animals and plants was extensive. At the end of the tour the same driver drove us back to Pretoria. I would recommend this tour for anyone interested in seeing a great part of Africa.

The views were amazing. We got up close to the animals. Great experience. MK was a great host. I rate it 10/10. The animals look well looked after.

          Great Animals but Poor Organisation
Shuttle Pick Up from MoAfrika was scheduled for agreed 5:30am. We were picked up late at 6:52am. All people on shuttle bus with us were doing Pilanesberg day trip on the other side of the National Park away from Ivory Lodge Hotel. The driver didn’t know we were staying at Ivory Lodge and had to ring Reception + MoAfrika to find out which hotel we booked. Once he finally found the booking I showed him on Trip Advisor he phoned Ivory Lodge successfully only to run out of phone credit! So he paid the operator to drive us through Pilanesberg National Park where we saw amazing animals. We checked in and food + drinks & afternoon safari were great! I was too tired to wake up for morning safari as we had to rush for 5:30am wake up scramble to contact trip advisor via email and phone and wait 82 mins for pick up the previous day! My son took some great photos and the lions came out for the 1st time in 7 days! Breakfast was nice and welcoming! Beware of communications between you, Trip Advisor and MoAfrika before you book this Safari

Historical & cultural highlights of Joburg
Good overview of the city with a tour guide that’s knowledgeable about the history and culture. Quiet Sunday with visits of several places just outside.

          Safe, friendly and on time.
I booked my trip last minute. My driver Thabo, picked me up from my location and he texted me to tell me when he would arrive. He was on time, very professional and friendly. I felt safe with him. He was waiting for me when the tour was done and got me back to the hotel safely.

          Multiple budget options
Last minute lower budget safari option for a short stay in Joburg. Quick confirmation with clear instructions on pick up and transfer. 2-night Sekekama tented camp fit my price and time requirements. Service at the camp was great but be aware accommodations are basic with tents having a fan, mosquito nets, dresser inside with shared shower and toilet areas. WiFi works in the tents. MoAfrika customized it to fit an afternoon and morning safari drive in a private reserve in the greater Kruger Reserve to allow my next day return to Jo-burg. Ride is long 6hrs but they make 2 stops.

Great experience, we will come back!
Absolutely amazing! It was perfect, everything was well organized regarding transfer, accomodation and safaris. The staff of Dumela Tented Camp was lovely!! The tents were equipped with an A/C, real beds and an own bathroom and the included food was quiet good. The Camp is situated in a nature reserve around 30 minutes drive from Orpen Gate. The safaris were well organized and the guides were really nice and well trained. All in all a perfect experience!

          Pillanesberg safari
I really enjoyed the excursion. We were picked up from the hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned bus. We saw many animals and savannah. We drove around the territory in an open jeep with a guide who told us everything in detail and knew the territory of the park. A small lunch was included in the excursion.

          Wonderful
It was an absolutely wonderful experience! The landscapes were stunning, and I had the chance to see incredible wildlife up close—lions, elephants, giraffes, and so much more. The guides were knowledgeable and made the experience even more enjoyable with their insights. It was surreal to witness these animals in their natural habitat. If you're considering a safari, I highly recommend it—it's an unforgettable adventure!

This tour is an excellent way to understand Soweto's history & life today. Our guide Khutso, who grew up in Soweto, was fantastic and shared a huge amount of knowledge and enthusiasm - covering all aspects in plenty of detail. We particularly enjoyed a short walk where we met some locals & visited a children's nursury where they sang some songs for us.

It would have been good to know about this nursury visit in advance as we would have liked to bring some school supplies to give to children/teachers.

Our guide was knowledgeable and we enjoyed all the areas and museums we visited. We were picked up at the airport and had an afternoon tour then dropped off at our hotel. Luggage was safe and a great way to visit and learn of customs and sites when we only had a day in Johannesburg.

We had a great full-day tour with Khutso (a.k.a. Goodwill) in Soweto. We had time to visit the Apartheid Museum and the Hector Peterson Museum, and Khutso was generous with answering all our questions. Also saw the home of Desmond Tutu, and ate lunch at a local Soweto eatery with local people in the township. We especially appreciated seeing the wide range of living conditions, and the highlight was visiting a school where we interacted with the children (we had brought some simple toys with us to give them).

We did the night tour of Soweto starting before sunset and moving on to a few shebeens (places serving alcohol), including dinner and 4 drinks. I'm sure they are all great but our guide, Thsolo, was top notch. He shared history and answered all our questions effortlessly. We interrupted him a lot to ask more questions during the drive and it didn’t phase him at all. We shared about ourselves and compared cultural norms and traditions. It felt like visiting a friend and being shown around by them. The museums are closed at night, but we still stopped by and looked in Mandela House and drove past Archbishop Tutu's house and felt with got the history story and the current vibe of part of Soweto. We got everything we expected and more. We only had one free night in Johannesburg and I am so happy that we chose this tour over other options.

The best part about our day tour was our guide. He was joyful, knowledgeable, professional and happy! The company was safe, reliable and honest. Our guide also played my favorite South African music, Amapiano for us during the ride. He is from the Soweto area and shared information about his tribe.

        Well priced, good value.

We had an excellent guide on this tour through Soweto. She was informative and transported us throughout the tour whilst entertaining us with her stories from the local areas. This is an experience that will stay with me and that I am glad that I ended up doing thanks to MoAfrika.

The trip was arranged solo as I couldn't do it within normal hours. The staff worked out a timeframe that was suitable for me. Ali picked me up on time in an impeccably clean vehicle. After some getting to know you, I asked Ali if we could adjust the itinerary somewhat as there were some things I wanted to skip and other things I wanted to see. As it was a solo tour, Ali was more than happy to adjust everything on-the-fly.

I had an excellent driving tour of the more important aspects of Johannesburg, getting a holistic take on the city. The Soweto part of the tour was informative and there was even a brief walk into the poorer areas, which was completely safe and eye-opening.

The best part of the trip was the guide, Ali. He was very knowledgeable about the political, economic and social challenges facing Johannesburg historically, currently and in the future. I felt like I recieved a full course on the city in the 3 hour tour.

Very highly recommended. This company also helped me book a safari in Kruger. Rishen did an excellent job setting all of this up.
