A wonderful pick up drop off tour to Lion and Safari Park
We had a wonderful tour! It was so fun to meet up with others as a solo traveler. I loved being picked up and dropped off and very much enjoyed our time at the Lion and Safari park. We were there at feeding time and the guide had a lot of great information about the animals!

Wonderfully breathtaking and an unforgettable experience
The game drives offered beautiful views of the bush. The flexible schedule and exclusivity of the tour made it even better. We could not have asked for anything better in relation to exploring Pilanesberg. The guides' expertise in tracking and wildlife conservation made this an even better tour.

We really enjoyed the safari. Very well organized, our guide was very nice, always trying to find the right spots. We were not Lucky with the Cats, but looking forward to come back with a better Lucky Next time.

        Informative tour and excellent guide
This tour covers the most important sights to see in Pretoria and our guide offered in-depth explanations about each stop’s history and their own personal view. He has a warm and friendly personality and I would recommend this tour as a great experience.

Had an amazing Cullinan mine and Pretoria tour
Great historic tour. The guide Tshapo was very knowledgeable and explained each and every detail of the history. Also I was the only one in the tour, so he made sure I was safe throughout the tour. He accompanied me everywhere. I also did the Cullinan mine tour. The girl who took me inside was very knowledgeable. Thanks Mo Africa for a very nice tour

Amazing service on our trip to Pilanesberg.
This shuttle provided us transport from Johannesburg to Pilanesberg and the transfer was brilliant. It was a straightforward and peaceful drive and we received great service. Definitely felt looked after and will use this again.

Thrilling and engaging experience for myself and my teens.
This hotel was the ideal retreat away from the busy city life and allowed for us to unwind and spend quality family time together. The best part were the games drives, where we got to see various different animals such as lions and elephants. Absolutely delightful experience

        Understand South Africa's History
This tour delivered MORE than promised. It was an experience, not simply a tour. Nathi was our tour guide for several couples and myself (traveling solo). He taught us so much about the history of South Africa, the importance of each place we visited, and what is happening now in the country. Our questions were answered without judgement and with reassurance that we could ask what was on our minds. The tour of Prison #4, Constitution Hill (clean restrooms), the Old Fort and Soweto were very emotional yet critical in understanding the struggle during and after the Apartheid era. While in Soweto, we stopped at a buffet restaurant for lunch (credit cards accepted) that had choices for vegetarians and vegans, too. The restrooms were clean, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was joyful with some music from Hugh Masikela being played along with other artists, too. After the Nelson Mandela House and the Hector Peterson Memorial Park, we stopped at a small group of street vendors - jewelry, hats, African souvenirs, etc. (again, credit cards accepted). The last stop was 2 hours at the Apartheid Museum, again, an emotional experience, and featuring an exhibit on the life of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. I had read Nelson Mandela's autobiography (Long Walk To Freedom) and several books by Archbishop Desomnd Tutu prior to this tour. These helped me see firsthand where events happened and feel the struggle even more. The company sends pick up time the night before the tour and pick up was on time. Tour time was about 7 hours total. I highly recommend this tour.

        Soweto visit
I recently had the privilege of exploring Soweto with Moafrika Tours, and it was truly a day to remember! As we walked through the streets, I was struck by the warmth and resilience of the Soweto community. But what really made the experience stand out was the infectious energy of the traditional dancing. These guys made us feel so welcome and encourage us to dance with them. I couldn't help but join in, feeling the rhythm and joy of the performance. Our guide was phenomenal, sharing poignant stories and insights into Soweto's past, from the struggle against apartheid to the present-day triumphs. Visiting landmarks like the Mandela House and the Hector Pieterson Memorial was a poignant reminder of the area's significance. What struck me most was the sense of community and unity that permeated every aspect of the tour. Moafrika Tours has clearly built strong relationships with the local people, making the experience feel authentic and immersive. I'll always treasure the memories of this special day.

        Great tour!
We only had 1 day in Johannesburg so chose this tour based on the positive reviews. It was a VERY long day but made easy with pick up and drop off from our airport hotel. We saw many animals in the Park - favourite s were the elephants, zebras and giraffes! Our guide Cathy was brilliant - very knowledgeable and entertaining! Weather was perfect but got cold - they provided warm coats to those that didn't come prepared. Also available was water and lunch/drink was good! Definitely recommend this tour!

The tour by another operator of the park was excellent.
MoAfrika provided the transport . But We paid them for park and the 2 hour transit from Sandton .

Pilansberg National Park is well recommended and many companies serve it .

      We paid R 2 500 per person for the day . R 10 000 in all

MoAfrika arrived on time ( thank you ).

For R 2500 per person we were squeezed into a minivan like sardines .

My slim pensioner parents ( 72 Amd 75 ) were therefore very uncomfortable. Driver was polite and friendly. However the vehicle . ..what a banger . Every time we hit the smallest bump we slammed down . Simply needed new shock absorbers. This isn’t a once off fail but sign of poor maintenance and potential un roadworthiness.

The ceiling was filthy . Blood stains and other crud it appeared .

      So at that price
      I had been hoping for
      Private vehicle
      Clean vehicle
      Road worthy vehicle

Very uncomfortable though and even for my wife and I 52 and 53 .

Was very disappointed and did not feel safe ,

The tour was amazing in every way! From pick up to drop off!
Our driver Sunny was just like his name! Like a ray of sunshine!! He was up beat and full of knowledge as he explained things we asked as we drove to Pilanesberg and back. He told us exactly what we could expect once we arrived at the park and when he would meet us at the end of the tour. He was very funny and kept us laughing!! We totally enjoyed him!! I'd give him a 5 + star rating!

Bright was an exceptional guide in the park! And again I'd give him a 5+ v star rating!
He was also so knowledgeable about all the animals and he really looked and watched so we could see as many as possible. He took time when we saw animals so that we could photograph them and enjoy the experience. He never rushed us. It was a experience we will never forget! Especially the herd of elephants that bright spotted, and we were able to watch them make their way thru the bush, and cross the road in front of us and watch them go to a watering hole to get wet and in the mud. It was a about 35-40 elephants from 3 babies, females, and 3 large males. It was so wonderful watching this.
We also throughly enjoyed our lunch. Everything was delicious.

Also we realized later that night after returning to our hotel in Johannesburg the my husband had left the charger and a battery for our camera in the jeep.
We called the next morning directly to the park and they looked in the jeep immediately and found it, and then had a driver that was there that day bring it to us that night at our hotel, after he dropped off his customers at their hotel in the area. I feel they went above and beyond to help us get our equipment back!

So thank you Mo Afric Tours!! We loved our experience

Buffalo Solider was our tour guide, a very knowledgeable and friendly individual. He knew exactly where to find the animals and gave background information on each one we saw. It is a matter of luck to see each animal but overall an amazing experience, would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

Quite cold in the morning but quickly warmed up so be advised if planning on taking a trip in June.

Hi there Thank you for your review, it is greatly appreciated and thank you joining us in the Pilanesberg reserve. You are 100% correct in stating that on safari you need to be in the right place at the right time to find the animals that roam around freely. Thank you for recommending our safari and hope to see you soon.

We organised a full one day safari to Pilanesberg National Reserve through MoAfrica Tours. Their transport picked us up from our hotel in Johannesburg at 05:45am and we arrived at the Game Reserve about 3 hours later (including a toilet/coffee stop). From there the Guide/Ranger took over and we set off in their open sided safari vehicle (we were a group of 9 and their vehicle can take upto 10 people ie not too big a group and everyone gets a good view). The day comprised 2 game drives with an hour and a half in between for lunch (a reasonable sized menu and service). Game drives were excellent, we saw hippos, elephants, dear/antelope, crocodiles, giraffes, zebra, lots of bird life and a lion in the distance. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and happy to stop the vehicle and take questions whenever. We left the park at about 3:30pm and arrived back in Johannesburg at about 6pm.

The driver, Sunny, and the guide, Tean, were both excellent, they were friendly and helpful in every way. The arrangements were made with Mo-Africa Tours via WhatsApp and they also couldn’t have been helpful and friendly, I unreservedly and highly recommend them.

Collection on time from hotel, friendly bus driver. Excellent tour guide at the reserve. Saw 3 of the big 5 animals. Full day tour entails a lot of driving (2.5hrs each way from JHB then 6 hrs at the reserve) would opt do a half day tour next time or an overnight stay at a lodge in the reserve to break up the amount of time spent on buses. Overall, would recommend this company.

This was the perfect adventure for a 1-day experience. As novice safari runners, it was a great introduction to what a more extended experience would entail. Transport to the park from Joberg was seamless, our driver Alex, executed that piece well, getting us to and from safely, door to door to/from our hotel. And our guide, Zwa, could not have been better. We saw more animals than expected and he made it a point to educate us as we were tracking them. We were teamed with a couple small families who had more experience and even they were surprised at the amount of visibility Zwa was able to find for us. Overall, would highly recommend this company and this trip for a full day experience that completely delivers and exceeded our expectations.

We had a free day on our work trip to Jo'burg so we quickly organized this tour with MoAfrika. They were very helpful in making the reservations and even allowed us to make unexpected changes to our pick-up location and itinerary.
Despite we arrived a bit later than expected, we were able to see hippos, rhinos, giraffes, a leopard, and a herd of elephants before lunch. We were not as lucky in our afternoon ride, and could only spot a couple of lions in the distance.
      Much recommended!

Nice experience! The guides were knowledgeable and we had good luck seeing a variety of animals, including a lovely encounter with swimming elephants. The pickup was smooth and punctual, though the van was completely full and a bit uncomfortable with no legroom. I’m glad I went.

I only had a day to do something outside of the city, so I decided to book this day tour. They picked me up from where I was staying at 5:20 a.m. and dropped me off at around 6:40 p.m.
A few things to take note of:
      1) You might be in the van for a LONG time before reaching the reserve. I was the second pickup and there were another 4 pickups after me (They were also dropped off before me on the way back). We only got to the reserve at around 9:00, so that was nearly 4 hours in the van. Take that into account if you have a hard time on long drives.
      2) Check the weather forecast! It was raining for the first few hours that we were there and it was EXTREMELY cold. While in the reserve you will be sitting in an open truck, so there is no protection from the cold or rain. Dress accordingly!
      3) You will be in the reserve for a total of around 6 hours (this includes a lunch break of around 40-50 minutes in the middle).
      4) There is no guarantee of seeing anything - This is not a zoo. The reserve is HUGE, so you might go long stretches of time without seeing anything at all.

All in all, I had a very positive experience, despite not seeing any cats or elephants on my trip. I would definitely take the tour again if visiting Johannesburg in the future.

This was the first safari for me and my three friends, and we had an amazing time. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna within the Pilanesburg Nature Reserve and had a great personality. Through his knowledge and expertise, we were able to spot four of The Big Five, with the leopard and lion, arguably two of the most difficult of the five to encounter, within the first couple of hours of the tour, in addition to other animals on the reserve (cheetah, zebra, wildebeest, warthog, and crocodile). I highly recommend this experience to any visitors to South Africa who wish to have that quintessential safari experience.
