          The Mandela and Waterfalls Tour
We have been fortunate enough to know Thobela for a number of years so, when we wanted to explore parts of the Transkei en route to Durban, we knew exactly who we wanted to take us. He has extensive knowledge of the Xhosa culture and relishes the opportunity to share it with others and we certainly benefited from it on our most recent trip. There were some places associated with Nelson Mandela and his cultural background that we wanted to visit, but we left it to Tobz to suggest other places we could explore on the route that he would take us. We really liked what he came up with on paper – but the actual experience of seeing some wonderful scenery and getting a flavour of the beautiful Transkei was so much better. Apart from visiting the museum at Qunu and the Nelson Mandela Museum in Mthatha, we also visited the excellent Capture Point exhibition near Howick. We stayed at Mbotyi River Lodge (highly recommended for the comfort of its rooms and the food) for two nights, spending the full day we had there exploring three different waterfalls (Angel Falls, Fraser Falls and Magwa Falls) and visiting the Magwa tea plantation where we were fortunate enough to be shown round the site by the manager and learn about its history and we then went for a walk on the beach. The accommodation he chose for us near Howick, The Halliwell Country Inn, can be likened to an English country house hotel with an excellent restaurant – complete with log fires in the bedrooms - which we obviously didn’t need in November but would be lovely in the depths of winter. Our accommodation in Durban, Belaire Suites, was also extremely comfortable and the breakfast buffet was excellent. He had arranged a walking tour for us with a local guide and we visited the markets, saw some of the Art Deco architecture and also some of the redeveloped port side areas. We also had the experience of going to a rugby match at the Hollywood Bets Kings Park Stadium, although the result was not the one we wanted (it was Dragons from Wales playing Sharks) but we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We decided to call our bespoke tour ‘The Mandela and Waterfalls Tour’ which completely filled our brief. We would highly recommend that anyone wanting a tailor-made guided holiday should approach Traveloma Tours & Safaris – you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful day trips along the Wild Coast!
I did several, individual day trips from Chintsa with Traveloma & Tobz. It was super informative and fun, entertaining and educating at the same time. And I felt always more than safe and in good hands. Tobz was so friendly, very reliable and well organized. His knowledge of the culture and history of South Africa and especially the Eastern Cape is incredible. You can always feel his passion for what he is doing! And no matter what question you have, he knows the answer :-) Tobz is also very flexible, you can do the standard trips as well as arrange individual tours. He goes the extra mile to realize all your travel ideas. And I really love the approach to make a difference when traveling - in doing it in a sustainable and inclusive way like you can do it with Traveloma. Therefore: Highly recommended!

Tobz our guude was waitibg for us by the Dock. He was smart and his English was very good. The vehicle was airconditiined and well maintained. His enthusiasm for the culture, history and hus home tiwn was great. He looked after us very well. Varied tour, museum, city hall and beach but for us was the Township we spent 20 minutes driving around. His knowledge and understanding if recent history and current sutuatiin was enlightening. Travelling in a unique, inclusive & socially responsible way with amazing Tobz ❤️
I‘ve learned from, worked and travelled with the nicest human being Tobz. He was the best colleague, teacher and travel buddy I could ask for. Award winning guide is even an understatement. Since day one I‘ve felt like Tobz is a friend I know for a long time. He always made sure to show me the importance of inclusive and sustainable tourism. About South Africa’s real culture, its way from apartheid dictatorship until today’s young democracy, about ongoing challenges, social inequalities and of course about the amazing Xhosa culture with their lovely people and insane clicking language. For me it was so special, important and touching to see that Tobz deeply cares about NGOs from his hometown such as the African Angels Days for Girls Enterprise, the African Angels Independent School, Temies Soup Kitchen or Ikhwezilomso Creche located in the township of Chintsa East. He even startet a Social Responsibility Tour so that tourists can really see and meet different organisations and natives who are fighting against poverty or lack of education. This is just a small snippet of what I’ve learned from Tobz. I have grown so much from him and this experience. Inkosi Kakhulu Tobz and South Africa. I’ll definitely see u again!

          Incredible guide
Tobz was the best guide to have going through Addo. He’s been there so many times he knows exactly what to look for and can point out animals you never would’ve seen otherwise. He also wants you to have a good time and will try to do anything in his power to make you happy. 10/10 experience.

Exploring South Arfica from Johannesburg to Cape Town
Starting from Johannesburg we travelled three weeks with Tobz through the wonderful country. Tobz and Annika planned an amazing tour for us and we would definetly do it exactly the same way again. Tobz is a very competent guide, safe driver, and a very friendly guy. He explained us a lot about the nature, history and the way of life in SA. He gave us a lot of background information about the county and its people that we would not have got without having him with us. We can highly recommend Traveloma Tours!
