We did not see much wild life on this day but can’t blame anyone, the team was very nice and trying to find them. We did see the glacier but from far. Was just OK.
Hop aboard your boat at the Valdez Small Boat Harbor to begin your cruise to Columbia Glacier. Start by traveling through the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Terminal and get a peek at commercial salmon fishing operations.
From there, head to Columbia Bay to see the Columbia Glacier, the largest tidewater glacier in Southcentral Alaska. Learn about the geology, history, and local wildlife of the area from your onboard guide. There is a chance to spot wildlife on this trip as well, including sea otters, porpoises, seals, eagles, puffins, and even whales. Each trip is unique dependent on weather conditions at the time.
Enjoy a light lunch and refreshments on board the vessel and take in the beautiful scenery of the area.
