Your 8-hour city tour of Recife and Olinda begins at 7:30am when you are picked-up from your hotel. Your tour starts with a panoramic view of the islands of Recife, Santo Antônio and Boa Vista, the Maurício de Nassau Bridge and Praça da República (flanked by the Governor's Palace, Santa Isabel Theatre and the Law Courts). During carnival these sloping streets teem with revellers following the traditional giant puppets, like the Homem da Meia-Noite (Midnight Man), or joining in the town's colorful carnival troupes. Olinda has been declared a World Natural and Cultural Heritage Monument by UNESCO.
Your next stop is a visit to the Cachaçaria Carvalheira Factory, where the cachaça (sugar cane rum) is aged in oak barrels. Here, you will learn about the production process of the distilled beverage, sugar and its derivatives.
The last stop on your tour is the Recife Shopping Centre, the largest shopping mall in the city, with its Sculpture Park, one of the largest exhibition areas in Northeast Brazil.
Your tour will conclude when your professional guide returns you to your hotel.
