Serra Verde Express: Rail Tour to Morretes and Antoninna from Curitiba
From US$120,00
Overview
Ride the Serra do Mar train through the preserved Atlantic Forest on this excursion from Curitiba. Learn about the history of the Brazilian railroad during this scenic ride and visit the villages of Antonina and Morretes. This 8-hour tour includes pickup and drop-off at Curitiba hotels.
What to Expect
Be ready bright and early for 7am pickup at your hotel in Curitiba. Be sure to bring your camera for one of the most scenic train rides in the world.
Board the train at 8:15am and set out for your journey. Travel on tracks alongside canyons, waterfalls, rivers, and forests. Travel from the Curitiba train station to Morretes via Graciosa Road (weather permitting).
Stop in the historic towns of Antonina and Morretes, both filled with well-preserved historic buildings and colonial mansions. Stroll down the narrow, quiet streets and find a restaurant in which to relax and enjoy some cuisine typical of Paraná (included). Taste some banana candies and the real Barreado.
Enjoy being on the railway during the sunset, taking in the scenery of the Serro do Mar Paranaense.
Your day's adventure ends with drop-off back at your Curitiba hotel after return by van.

History and geography together

Travelling on this train gives you the opportunity to pass the spring where the great river `Iguaçu that crosses the state of Parana from East to West , and falls more than 500 km further in great cataracts we know of, starts. It is surprisingly...More
