Overview

The vast national park known as Taman Negara is hard to access independently. This tour takes you into the forest, through the canopy, and over rapids on a jungle boat cruise—with a guide to help spot wildlife and identify jungle plants. For maximum ease, enjoy lunch, dinner, and hotel pickup and drop-off, plus a stop at the ancient Batu Caves.

What to Expect

After pickup from your hotel, head to the Batu Caves, and climb the 272 steps to the Hindu temple.

Jump back in your air-conditioned transport to travel to Taman Negara, where your dedicated nature guide will lead you through the canopy walkway for a bird’s eye view of ancient rainforest (on Thursdays, visit the rainforest waterfalls instead). Next, learn the secrets of the forest as you hike Teresek Hill and view the impressive ecosystem of caves, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, lush greenery, and rolling hills.

After lunch at a floating café, thrill as your boatman negotiates seven separate sets of rapids. Then learn about indigenous forest traditions as you watch fire-making and blowpipe demonstrations. After you freshen up, head back towards Kuala Lumpur, stopping along the way for a Malaysian feast. Finally, your vehicle will drop you back at your hotel.

Highly recommended

Very nice tour! You have to be prepared for thousands of stairs but it is totally worth it. You do a trip in the jungle which is once in a lifetime experience. The guides are super nice and knowledgeable. Also the food is awesome.

Better not in my opinion. Boat trip and jungle walk are to dangerous to do with any child under, let’s say, 10 years. At least you must be able to swim in cause of an accident.

I would definitely email the hotel and ask them if the walkway is now open. We were there about 4 weeks ago and the walkway was closed due to structural problems, by the sound of it, it won't be open for a long time! If they... More
