Catch the morning bullet train (Shinkansen) to Kyoto. As you look out of the train window on a clear day, catch sight of revered Mt Fuji. After the approximately 2-hour journey, arrive at mid-day to Kyoto Station where your local guide welcomes you.
Upon arrival enjoy a Western-style lunch in an elegant hotel restaurant. Then, travel on foot to the nearby tour operator desk before beginning your comprehensive city tour. Travel by comfortable coach to the spectacular Fushimi Inari Taisha, located at the base of Mt Inari. Discover the head shrine to the god Inari and marvel at its numerous shrine gates.
Take a moment of quiet reflection within the temple and see the colossal size of the Thousand-Armed Kannon, an altar flanked by more than a 1,000 life-size statues dedicated the Buddhist deities. Afterward, visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple and hear the story behind the temple's construction from your guide.
After your city tour, return to the station for the bullet train back to Tokyo.

Took bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto for the day and was a great experience!! Pricey but well worth the experience. Saw three (3) temples and shopping area. Recommend lunch additions. Lunch was at Miyako hotel!! Very nice!!
This is a nice way to see a small portion of Kyoto. The sights that we visited were very interesting. I did feel like we spent too much time on the bus and the sight visits were too short.

Hi Yes there are vegetarian options available, make your choices known to the guide who will tell you what is on offer that day. Ensure you say no meat or fish as some flavouring even for vegetarian dishes use fish stock. We are both vegetarians and had no difficulty asking for this but I do have to say the food was a little bland for my taste as they are not yet fully into vegetarianism.

Hi, we booked through Sunrise tours and our hotel wasn't listed as a pick up but this wasn't a problem. I believe we were told to arrive at the station at 9am but I feel you would be better to check with your tour operator. we found everyone was very helpful, and if you have booked with Sunrise, there are other hotels that you can make your way to via taxi to make sure you get the train on time. enjoy!!
