What to expect
Travel by remork (tuk-tuk) through the outskirts of Siem Reap to the Tonle Sap Lake. Board your boat and cruise through Tonle Sap, observing life on the lake as you travel past floating fishing villages that have their own schools, shops, hospitals and even crocodile farms! The lake is home to rare and endangered water birds and is unique for its flow of water, which changes direction twice a year. With the change in seasons, the lake has the ability to expand and shrink dramatically. At the height of the wet season, the lake can be more than 7,400 square miles (12,000 square kilometers) and provides half of the fish supply for Cambodia.  On the return journey to Siem Reap, take the back roads into town and get a glimpse of daily rural activities, such as rice planting and harvesting, duck farming, and making the popular but smelly fish paste. Stop at a local Buddhist temple, chat with the villagers and try the local snacks.

An enlightening morning!
Took a trip with Thou to visit a local temple, local market and to see a village (which was a real eye opener).
Also visited Tonle Sap for a cruise to see a floating village.
I wasn't sure what to expect on this tour but it exceeded my expectations.
Thou was an interesting and knowledgeable guide.
Highly recommended...

Fascinating experience
We did this trip with Expedia and our guide (Adam) was great. The only blip was that ladies toilets are very poor.
Adam gave us a lot of information about the village on stilts at the lake and their way of life - fascinating! We went on to the lake in small boats and watched the sunset from the floating village.

Tonle Sap cruise and small group tour
Fascinating tour of the morning Market, with a cruise on Tonle Sap lake and the floating village. Vantha was very informative and excited to share his culture with us. We had a flight we had to catch and he made sure we got back in time. Thank you Vantha!

Tonle Sap Floating Village
Jan 2020 • Family
Our guide, Sokhom, was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable and helpful during the tour. The floating fishing village was amazing. The monastery was informative with very many friendly dogs and cats to greet. This is a very worthwhile tour of village life outside of the city centre.

Overall we had a very nice time listening to Lonn explain local customs and habits and I appreciated that unlike some guides he often paused with the talking part of the tour to allow me to enjoy my surroundings with my own thoughts. I enjoyed walking through the market and meeting families and having a chance to try their foods and see the children as well. The boat ride was fun- safe and I appreciated that life vests were provided with good commentary along the way. Lonn offered an umbrella to use as protection from the hot sun which was nice and he was very courteous to us, three women, without being pushy or overbearing at all.
I would only criticize one aspect of the tour and that was the lengthy explanations of your crematory and the various rituals depending on a persons wealth. I would cut back the time spent there describing graphic details of a corpse and just briefly tell us about the buildings, monuments, and a general protocol after a person passes and how that is viewed religiously, spiritually, financially.
Lonn was a fun tour guide and not pushy or overbearing and gave us a good overall insight into your local customs and how the country is run overall. Lonn was courteous all day and I appreciated being asked my opinion of things and where each of us was from and why we chose to visit Cambodia. It’s apparent Lonn loves his job as Tour Guide and teaching visitors Cambodian customs. I would take a second tour with Lonn in the future if we were staying longer!

My wife and I had Kim as our tour guide. He was exceptional! He was filled with knowledge about the history of Cambodia and its culture. We were surprised and fortunate to have experience local life in Cambodia. The floating village was also very amazing. Thanks to Kim, he was able to accommodate all our needs and were able to get all the best photos. Your overall experience greatly depends on your tour guide and we really lucked out with him! Would definitely come back with the kids and book the same tour.

Amazing day trip with Kim
Oct 2019 • Friends
We took a day trip with Kim to see the tonle sap lake as well as a local market, monastery and general tour of the area. Kim couldn’t have been more helpful for the whole trip. He’s a gem. The activities were great and we both felt we came away having seen areas we would not have discovered on our own. Also got to try some of the local food and drink all included in the price of the tour.
Highly recommend this tour.
