What to Expect
Following an early-morning pickup at your Cusco accommodation, board your air-conditioned minivan and head out for your full-day tour, starting with a traditional breakfast in the local Qesyuno community. Then, with energy levels high, follow rugged hiking trails through the Red Valley to the summit of Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)—an incredible naturally multicolored formation considered among the most spiritually significant peaks in Peru. We were a little nervous to book this trip after reading some reviews regarding the difficulty of the hike. The hike itself it not too bad, however, the altitude makes it strenuous. Having done it, we recommend having at least a couple days to acclimate to the altitude in Cusco

We came to Cusco for the Inca Trail, and absolutely loved it. We added on a day trip to Rainbow Mountain because of a recommendation from a friend. We had a truly memorable day and would recommend it to all. It is important to get there early, as the mountain gets very busy.
