Only 8 in our party, which was led by a knowledgeable young woman, who told us the history of Singapore, especially the Chinatown area. We were led through the streets of Chinatown, which was heaving with people, as it was the build up to Chinese New Year. Everything very colourful, with the stalls spilling out onto the street from the shopfronts behind. (No time to buy anything, though!) Through a door between two shops (you'd never find it by yourself!) and upstairs to a Chinese restaurant, full of Chinese people - obviously a good place to eat! We enjoyed a meal included in the cost of our tour (spring roll, 3 dishes + rice, soup and mango pudding) then headed back downstairs, through the busy street to the minibus which was waiting for us. I walk with a stick, so not the fastest walker, and was rather anxious about losing our guide, which would have been easy to do in such a throng of people but, happily, we had an extremely tall gentleman in our party, who was easy to spot! Bugis Village (the Indian area) was next on our tour, then the trishaw ride, which was very pleasant, 2 people per trishaw (a bicycle beside the 'cart') and travelling in convoy. Then it was back on the minibus for the short trip to Clarke Quay where we went ahead of the waiting queues for our (40 min) bum boat ride on the river. We'd done this previously by day but it was very colourful seeing it by night, with a laser show just finishing from above the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, and lights everywhere. Unfortunately you can't see the illuminated 'trees' in the Gardens by the Bay on this trip but that's the only regret I had. Well worth the money and highly recommended.

Thought this would be a good way to introduce the kids to Singapore and keep them awake for the jet lag.

They collect you from your hotel in a minibus and take you to their offices. Up to the 3rd floor and you sit and wait for the other guests to arrive from other hotels. Multiple tours meet here. Then back down to your next bus to go tot he start point - we had a 25 minute wait before all arrived.

First stop is a Yum Char restaurant in China town and you get to walk through a few streets. then back to wait for the bus to pick your up to take you to Tri-Shaw ride. This was awesome and the guys take good care of you. Then back on the bus and down to get your boat tour which is also pleasant and informative.

We were so happy to find a minibus waiting for us to take us straight to hotel afterwards - couldn’t face the large bus again then to the central point and another hour wasted as jet lag kicking in.

We booked this tour last minute and Tour East staff went out of there way to accommodated us, thank you Ambun. We were the only two people on the tour as they have just restarted after Covid and I can say it was absolutely fantastic. Our tour guide Anthony was so informative, he knew everything there was to know about Singapore and being the only two on the tour, we had his undivided attention and could ask him anything we wanted. The dinner in China town was great and plentiful, Chinese tea, a soup, spring rolls, two main meals, fried rice and dessert.
The Trishaw ride was fun and we had great weather for it, the driver was happy to take photos for us. We gave him a $5 tip. Had a stroll through the Bugis Markets. But the highlight was the River boat cruise, relaxing, great photo opportunity and informative. Highly recommend this tour !

We were in Singapore for Valentine and I was looking for something to do. I thought the Trishaw and river cruise would be a great way to spend time together and it was. It was nice to visit Pagoda Street and the meal at the Chinese restaurant was good. However, the highlight of the evening was the trishaw ride and the river cruise.

Starting out in Bugis was a little intense but once you got used to the ride, it was great. The best part was traveling through Little India where the vehicular traffic was light but the streets were alive with pedestrians. Our driver was great and he made it fun. Much like a Segway tour, the trishaw is a good speed to see things but not so fast you miss them. We both really enjoyed and would highly recommend.

Then the night cruise was awesome. Each new view around a river bend was more impressive than the last and then circling Marina Bay was incredible. We had seen during the day but Singapore is magical at night.

This is a great event for a couple to do and enjoy the evening any night, especially on Valentines. My wife and I highly recommend.

I did this as a solo attendee because I was on my way back home after a business trip to Bangalore, and decided to stop for a couple of days in Singapore.

We had a fairly large group (24?) Our tour guide, Natalie was knowledgeable and informative - I'm very glad I took this tour on my first day in Singapore. It gives you a much better appreciation of the history of Singapore and why it has such high standards of cleanliness and organization now, although it wasn't always that way.

The fact that they pick you up and drop you off at your own hotel, with a series of smaller vans which get you to a larger bus, is a great organization I think, and made it simple to join in. The tour itself, including dinner, took about 3 hours.

The only other thing I would say, is that the Trishaw ride was kind of fun, but although we had a speaker in the Trishaw which allowed us to hear more about what we were seeing, our "engine" pushing the pedals, was a talkative guy and we kept missing what we were looking at - he was seldom talking about the buildings or history. Apart from that though, I would definitely do this again if my wife was with me.

We loved this tour! We were picked up at our hotel and headed to Chinatown. We had some time to walk around/shop and had a very good dinner at a very local Chinese restaurant. We then went to the trishaw location with an exciting trip through Little India. And finally, we headed to the bay for a great boat ride and spectacular view of the amazing architecture and lights of Singapore.

We decided to get out and see Singapore properly not just Orchard Road. Do we decided to take the tour of Chinatown, Little India and bum boat of the river.
It was a good casual way to see the various sights and delights.
Well worth a try.
The rickshaw drivers are very knowledgeable and helpful. Also take good photos too.

If it weren't for the boat ride on the river at the end of this tour, our rating would be lower. It was a rainy evening, which has some impact on the enjoyability of the tour, but other than that, there was not much to like. First, the hotel pickup was 20 minutes later than they stated, despite the fact that 6 of the 8 people picked up were from our hotel. Once at the remote transfer location, only 2 of us were for this tour. Two more were already in the small transfer van with the guide. We set off to Chinatown, and the guide gave a nice overview of the history and cultural aspects of Singapore. Once in Chinatown, the first stop is at a traditional Chinese medicine shop. The shop was nice looking, but the couple running it were only interested in selling us their wares. We did get a small container of mosquito bite treatment. This part only lasted less than 5 minutes. Then it was on to dinner. Before entering the restaurant, the guide advised us that we would have 45 minutes for dinner, then 45 minutes to wander through the market before the trishaw ride, so meet back here in 1.5 hours. The guide ushered up a long flight of stairs to what seemed like a fairly typical Chinese restaurant. The other couple with us on the tour spoke little English, but it became apparent fairly quickly that their background would not allow them to eat this type of food. Once the first course was brought to the table, they left. Since dinner had already been ordered, we were served food for 4. The food was only OK, nothing special. Once downstairs again, we did wander the market and picked up some fun items for a Lunar New Year party once we got home. The rain picked up again as we met for the trishaw ride. Felt bad for the drivers. They did have a relatively effective cover for the passenger compartment, but we still got wet. Unfortunately, you only go one block on a narrow Chinatown Street before reaching a six lane major roadway along which most of the ride occurs, with busses, large trucks and cars zooming by on both sides, and rain splashing up into the trishaw. Once at Clarke Quay, we did give the soaked driver a tip. The Singapore River Boat ride was next. After a brief delay in loading, we boarded the boat. Rain had lightened again, which was helpful. The boat ride was wonderful, with plenty to see along the river. Once in the lake in front of the Marina Bay Sands, we arrived just in time for the second half of the spectacular light and music show that they put on at the waterfront in front of the hotel each night at 8 and 9 pm. Got some great pictures of the show. Once back to Clarke Quay, we told our guide that we would make our own way back to the hotel, and spent some time touring the wonderful and lively Clarke Quay area before returning via MRT to our hotel. For our money, if we had this to do again, we would skip the first part and just do the river boat tour on our own.

This was our first visit to Singapore so having looked at the reviews thought this would be a good introduction to China Town. My advice would be just do it yourself. The trip was well enough organised but without been to critical was not very informative, the restaurant visited and the food awful compared to some of the excellent restaurants in China Town.
My advice would be get a taxi and do it on your own its a great place to visit.

This was a fantastic night with a well organised tour company and tour guide and to top it off a fantastic group of travellers. The evening started by us getting picked up by the tour company at our hotel. We all met at a central destination before walking through to Chinatown to a herbal medicine shop. There were no hard sells but just general information and an opportunity to look around. We then walked through Chinatown further and were taken to a restaurant which if it had not been for the tour, you would not know that it existed as it was upstairs situated between some market stalls. Food was great!!! From there we had a little time to shop around Chinatown before hopping on to our trishaws for a fantastic trip through the streets. Was not scary at all with buses, cars and trucks all sharing the road. Felt very safe. We then arrived at Clark quay and boarded our bum boat for a leisurely ride up the river to the marina where we had front row seats to the light show and all the delights that the marina has to offer. We could not fault this tour. Linda, our tour guide, was a gorgeous lady with a great sense of humour... highly recommended.
