    What to Expect
    Visit: Masungi Georeserve, Kilometer 47 Marcos Highway, Baras Garden Cottages, Luzon 1970 Philippines

    Your trail begins at Silungan where you meet your park ranger and other guests joining you for the trail. Here you are briefed on the placed and its policies. Water refill stations, restrooms and lockers are also located here for your convenience.

    Following this you enter the trail through Pasukan and are taken on a three to four hour trail. Your park ranger will be sharing floral, faunal, landscape, and conservation highlights as you move along. There are rope courses and view decks lovingly made by the in-house team to offer unique perspectives and ways of experiencing the place. Among these are Lambat, Sapot, Patak, Duyan, Bayawak and Sawa which were inspired by local and natural elements found within. 

    The trail ends in Liwasan where hammocks abound for rest and relaxation. Complimentary snacks will be served here so that you can replenish your energy.

    • Shared trail visits and orientation will begin at 10:00 in the morning at the entrance of Masungi Georeserve.
    • Shared trail guests must be at the entrance of Masungi Georeserve 30 minutes ahead of the schedule.
    • In consideration of other guests joining the shared trail and arriving promptly, please take note that visits of latecomers may be forfeited.

    The Masungi Georeserve is located in the upland area of Baras, Rizal in the Philippines. A quick day tour or day trip from Manila, it is accessible via private vehicle transport from the city.

    International Transport: Planes arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Metro Manila.

    Local Transport: The Masungi Georeserve is accessed along Kilometer 47, Marcos Highway, Baras, Rizal, by the municipality of Baras’ boundary with Tanay. It may be reached through a scenic, winding car ride along Marcos Highway.

    The entrance is located at the right side of the Marcos Highway road after the Garden Cottages, Foremost Farms and Palo Alto markers in Baras, Rizal, if coming from Metro Manila. Take note to only take Marcos Highway and avoid the Manila-East Road if coming from Metro Manila. The latter is a significantly longer and less reliable route. Distance based on the recommended route is provided below:

    • From Quezon City, Metro Manila: 1 hour & 15 minutes (approximately 35 km)
    • From the Ninoy Aquino International Airport:  2.5-3.5 hours (approximately 51 km),  Metro Manila traffic permitting
    There is no grand signage or entrance to the georeserve. The entrance marker is a simple logo and destination signage beside the highway (right if coming from Metro Manila).  You may see the map through http://www.masungigeoreserve.com/getting-here-masungi-georeserve/getting-here/. 

    Recommendations for transport providers from Metro Manila are available for our guests’ convenience. Kindly inquire with us should there be a separate need for this.

    • Confirmation will be received within 48 hours of booking, subject to availability
    • Not wheelchair accessible
    • Minimum age is 13 years
    • Recommended for Outdoor and Nature Enthusiasts; Regular and Beginner Hikers; Groups and Families who are looking for a unique experience together away from the city
    • Guests joining a shared trail must have a flexible pace and interests as they will be joined with other visitors.
    • Guests must be in good health condition for a trail visit.
    • Only available for 13 years of age and above for safety and security reasons.
    • Georeserve policies (i.e. no littering, no smoking and its alternatives, noise is prohibited) and the terms and conditions above. Guests must honor these during the visit, and take full accountability for aids, drivers, and help. Policies apply to the area as a whole, including the parking space and the road/roadside area. The obligation and the right to strictly implement these policies and impose the necessary penalties.
    • A PHP 3,000.00 penalty applies upon first non-compliance to policies.
    • Personal tipping is not allowed. This ensures non-interference of visits to priority conservation work, and encourages consistency in experience among guest visits. Providing of tips, outside the communal bucket, may lead to the dismissal of staff involved.
    • The trail is a rain or shine activity. Cancellations in lieu of severe weather conditions and other concerns may be made by Masungi Georeserve to ensure safety. Similarly, trail paths may be diverted for critical concerns which may lead to inability to visit certain stops.
    • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 1 travelers
