Tibet is truly a beautiful place as I expected to be. Because most natural sceneries are away from Lahsa so ones need to be prepared to take long car ride and be open mind with the basic accommodations. I was well prepared ito clothings and medication but due to the quick change in temperature, there was one night I had bad headache in Namotso. Tour guide, Ng Wang Tenlin helped me by showing me how to use the bottled oxygen and measured my health conditions to provide me with comforts. Thank you

A very warm welcome to Tibet
May 2018 • Couples
On arrival at Lhasa train station we were surprised to be met by our English speaking tour guide Dolma who presented us with a Ha Da (white scarf) as a welcoming gesture. She and our driver looked after us exceptionally well during our 7 day tour of Lhasa and Tibet, showing and explaining to us Tibetan history and Buddhist culture as well as many beautiful mountain and lake sites in the surrounding region.
Highlights included Potala Palace, observing thousands of local buddhists walking clockwise around the base of the palace, observing a "debating session" where teachers and students question and answer each other on various Buddhist teachings, argue the upper reaches of the Yellow River, mountain peaks and saddles over 5000 metres high, sharing roasted barley with a local who operates a waterwheel powered barley mill, a ride on a Yak in Namsto National Park. Our guides were very knowledgable about local customs and history. Speaking both Mandarin and English was a big help to both my wife and me. The standard of accommodation and meals provided were excellent catering for both Asian and western tastes.

Great introduction to Lhasa, monasteries and Tibet in general with our very knowledgeable tour guide, Tsedon.
Sep 2018 • Couples
This tour provided us with a great opportunity to explore monasteries, cities, villages and landscapes in Tibet. In addition we were able to learn about food, traditions and the very strong Buddhist culture in Tibet. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and felt safe and well taken care of. We did our homework and understood how to take care of altitude sickness but were not very clear on the long travel times between cities due to road conditions and speed limitations. Tsedon was very caring, very knowledgeable about the history and culture, and very well organized. I highly recommend her and the tour.

Travel in Tibet but without Vista
Wonderful province and scenic places but such a poor level of service provided by this travel agency : lack of information about the issuance of our travel permits just released a couple of days before our arrival, rude and impolite messages from the travel agent, no contact during the trip except for asking money. The local driver did not respect the local traffic regulations and we were about to see our last minutes of life when he crossed at full speed a red light in front of a crossing car or drove in 30 cm of snow refusing to equip the car with its snow security equipment. The local guide was not just motivated by his job, impolite and lacking of any initiative, communication and personal consideration. Just avoid this travel agency which should start to learn what customer service does actually mean.

Stunning landscapes and ancient culture all on one trip
This was my first time to Tibet and I was lucky to have a great guide in Ngawang Tenzin. On this tour, we went to Lhasa, Shigatse and Namtso Lake with some stops in between which enabled us to see some beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau as well as to have enough time to digest the ancient Buddhist cultures and rituals centered around the holy cities of Lhasa and Shigatse.

I took some prescription medicine for altitude sickness in advance and so didn’t experience any issues this entire trip. So it is good to be prepared for high altitude situations.

Overall, I think this is a great trip for anyone who wants to get some cultural insights of monasteries, golden Buddha statues, as well as some beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes of the Plateau.

TIP: Bring a coat, as the temperature can get pretty cold up there at 5000 meters above sea level, even in September.

Very long days on the bus with poor commentary
Aug 2018 • Couples
We did the central tibet tour and whilst the scenery was truly amazing it was let down by Serena our guide.

Schedule. Our guide didnt make clear the time we would leave for the next stop, so often we were waiting on other group members to appear. In one case the guide appointed to leave at 2.40 but then left at 2.30 leaving 2 people behind! We then had to wait for them to catch up. This happened many times were the guide wouldn't wait for everyone so we were constantly separated.

Many other groups had headphones linked to the guide so you didnt need to be so close. It was a shame there was no mention of the natural side of Tibet, such as what formed the lake and how it came to be salt water.

In the bus on one day, the guide said nothing for 2 hours - and then for the rest of the 12 hour day almost said nothing. It would have been much better if we knew the itinerary for the day so we knew what to expect.

Overall let down by the poor guide who appeared to have had enough.

8 day tibet namtso and shigatse tour
Jun 2018 • Solo
It was truly an experience of a lifetime. I was very well adjusted to the altitude so I wished there were more activities or at least suggestions and more information provided, but overall it was a good trip. I believe depends on the guide you have, your experience will be quite different. I would suggest doing a lot of homework on your own first to get the most out of this expensive experience.
Because my trip was booked very last minute, I ended up having 3 different guides who are all very nice Tenzin b, Tenzin and Daniel. Daniel was the last guide who speaks English very well and there was no communication problem at all. He also went out of his way to make sure we had been taken care of. Thank you! :)

Wonderful Tibet
On arrival to my Beijing hotel my Tibet travel permit was waiting for me, on arrival to Lhasa I was met immediately outside the airport as expected and within 10 minutes was being driven to my hotel. I can not fault the arrival process!

The Lhasa hotel had a few funky flaws, but was better than I was expecting - just remember where you are. The location was great just 5 minutes from the old town Barkhor where I spent most of my first day acclimatising. I did take Diamox and felt ok in Lhasa (first 4 nights) but certainly felt the altitude in higher places and even on mild exertion in Lhasa (e.g. stairs - especially the Potala!)

Our guide Tsedron (Tserina) was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole trip - her enthusiasm and caring attitude never wavered and her knowledge was endless! She was always willing and able to answer all our questions. When 2 members of our group suffered with the altitude at Namtso you could tell she was genuinely concerned. She always gave us options for food/activities and came up with great suggestions of authentic places to eat and a great Tibetan tea house full of locals - an unexpected highlight! She also has a great sense of humour and was very open and honest with us - we really enjoyed our time with her!

I had high hopes for Tibet and my expectations were exceeded. You just have to be realistic about the road conditions/driving times (12 hours to Shigatse with multiple scenic/food stops, 7ish to Namtso as the road is currently under construction), this is no one’s fault. Also definitely take the altitude seriously, plenty of people in lots of groups suffered at some point or another.

And ask for Tserina, you won’t be disappointed!
