Overview

A gentle, sloping climb with sensational coastal views of Hong Kong Harbour, Dragon’s Back earns its title as Asia’s best urban hike. Scale mountain ridges, gaze at tree-lined islands, and discover forest trails on this informative, guided walk with free time on your own to swim or surf at Big Wave Bay.

What to Expect

The tour will begin at Shau Kei Wan MTR station, where you’ll meet your guide and the rest of the group. Hiking tours are capped at small numbers, so you’ll be guaranteed a personalized day out. It’s also a year-round hike, perfect for all weather conditions.

Navigating the undulating ridge that gives this classic hike its name, you’ll climb gently skyward across tree-lined trails and winding mountain paths. Your guide will be on hand to give you background information while you walk and ready to supply interesting commentary on the history of the region.

As you slowly mount the trail, you’ll be rewarded with sensational bird’s-eye views of Hong Kong island, including the famous Dragon’s Back itself as seen from up above. From there, you’ll descend down to the white sands and turquoise waters of Tai Long Wan (Big Wave Bay). Enjoy free time to relax on the beach, grab a lunch nearby, or don a swimsuit and hop into the water before heading back with your guide to the metro station.
