Private Classic Beijing Tour: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Summer Palace
From US$69,00

Do full justice to three of Beijing’s must-see sights under the expert tutelage of a private guide on a stress-free tour ideal for first-time visitors. Explore Tiananmen Square, the vast expanse that forms the beating heart of Beijing and dodge the ticket lines at the Forbidden City, home to emperors for around five centuries, with pre-booked admission. Plus, lunch and hotel pickup and drop-off make a seamless experience.

What to Expect

Following hotel pickup, your first stop is Tiananmen Square, the heart of Beijing, and home to sites from the National Museum of China to historic Tiananmen Tower and the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall.

Next, you'll explore the luxurious Forbidden City, the world’s largest imperial palace, which was home to 24 Chinese emperors between the 15th and the 20th centuries. As you stroll the gardens, halls, and courtyards, your private guide explains how the emperors, their eunuchs, and their concubines lived and ruled.

After a break for lunch at your choice of Chinese restaurant, it’s time to visit the Summer Palace, where China’s imperial households retired to beat the summer heat. The lakes, pavilions and bridges are exquisite at every time of year, but the gardens truly come into their own during spring and summer. The tour concludes with hotel drop-off.
