Yangon Evening Street Food and Market Walking Tour

Overview
Explore Yangon street food on an evening tour that’s a great introduction to the city’s diverse cuisine. With a guide to give you the background on dishes from around the country, you'll taste your way through a series of street food stalls and family-owned restaurants, then finish the night over barbecued fish and cold beer in Yangon's vibrant Chinatown.
What to Expect
Make your way to a centrally located meeting point in Yangon, then set out on foot through downtown’s narrow alleys and markets. You’ll stroll through Little India and Chinatown, ducking into a colorful produce market that’s far from the tourist trail. The tastings vary to keep the experience fresh and flavorful, but favorite snacks include mohinga, a savory noodle soup topped with fried squash, the Indian faloodah yogurt drink, Shan-style sticky rice noodles, and laphet, a salad of fermented tea leaves that’s among Myanmar’s most iconic dishes.

As you walk, you’ll also see pagodas, churches, mosques, and temples, getting a glimpse of the cultures that mingle in Yangon's busy streets. The night concludes with fish and a cold beer in Chinatown, a great place to soak up Yangon’s energetic evening atmosphere.

Excellent innovative local tour

This tour takes you out of the restaurant scene and on to the street, a great way to experience the other side of this city. A must for anyone interested in local life.

Great Food and Good Guy

This is the second street food tour we’ve done in Yangon and by far the better of the two. We’d return to at least four of the stops along the way including the Shan noodles, dumplings and mohinga. We highly recommend.More
