9am is a good time to start your ride and enjoy the Ciclovia for several hours. After getting your included bike and helmet at historic center, you’ll start by riding over the "Carrera Séptima", one of the main avenues closed every Sunday morning to allow the people to cross the city from south to north. During the ride you'll be able to visit important landmarks, squares and traditional neighborhoods including Bolivar Square, Justice Palace, the Capitol, the National Park, Chapinero and Hacienda Santa Bárbara mall.
Bogotá’s Ciclovía was created on 1974 and since then, every Sunday morning a lot of people of all ages and from every part of the city uses those more than 110 Kms of closed avenues to have fun with their friends and family riding their bikes, jogging or walking. Carrera 7, Carrera 15, Avenida Boyacá, Avenida ELDorado and Calle 116 are just some of the important streets used to ride around almost the whole city.
Definitely, the Ciclovia is the best way to get to know the city and its different districts, neighborhoods and styles in the north, south, east and west. You wont be able to go over Bogotá on any other day as you will be able to do on Sunday's Ciclovía! If you get hungry or thirsty, there are several options of food and beverages during the 5 hours (or more) we're going to ride.
