What to expect
Depart your central Tel Aviv hotel by air-conditioned coach and journey toward Jerusalem. As you travel, your guide explains Jerusalem’s ancient past and its centrality to Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faiths. Enter into the Old City to see the Western Wall. Walk along part of the Via Dolorosa pilgrimage route and see the 14 Stations of the Cross that mark Jesus’ route to his crucifixion site, where the Church of the Holy Sepulchre stands. Back aboard your coach, drive to the Dead Sea, the salt lake located at the earth’s lowest point on land—around 1,312 feet (400 meters) below sea level. On arrival, enjoy approximately two hours to bathe and laze on the mineral beach. Experience a swim (or float) in the salt-rich waters, and, if you wish, enjoy a mud bath. Later, drive past the historical city of Jericho on your way back to Tel Aviv, where a hotel drop-off ends your trip.

This was my second tour w/ Bein Harim and again it was excellent. I was lucky enough to have Itamar as my guide both days. His energy, humor, knowledge, and easy communication made the 12+ hour day effortless, insightful, and fun.

For anyone looking to really dig in on Jerusalem, I’d recommend a full day (or multiple days) there. This tour does provide a great exposure to the Christian side of Jerusalem, but it only touches on the Muslim and Jewish components. You’ll visit The Western Wall, of course.

I was skeptical about spending my limited time at The Dead Sea. It was cool to float so effortlessly, but personally, I would have preferred to spend more time in Jerusalem or visit Bethlehem instead. I would not knock the tour or my guide for this because it was great for what it is. If you’re not limited on time, then certainly make this stop. One callout is that at the bar I ordered two frozen alcohol drinks and one draft beer and it was $50 (USD). I thought that was a bit much, but that’s the rub for touristy places like this I suppose.

Overall, I highly recommend this tour, the company, and my guide, Itamar.

I learnt so much from the trip. The tour was planned well with good spots of time for reach activity. The tour guide, Itamar, was very passionate and you can tell that he really internalised the knowledge. His group management was excellent and we all achieved so much in a short span of a day. Well done Itamar!

Our group of 3 missed the bus and had to take a taxi to the next stop not because we were late but because the location of pickup was not accurate enough. Communication with the office was not friendly .Avi, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly
Only one option for where to buy souvenirs and only 2 lunch options from one restaurant, ( it smells of kickbacks).
Also, asking for a good reviews and gratuities is
Very tacky.
Next time I'll take the train and explore at my own pace and eat where I want when I want.

Dear R7915MTjenniferk We are regretful that there was this misinformation. Being late cannot always be blamed on the tour company, even if the circumstances caused the delay. Avi deserves your feedback for his efforts. Lunch has to be at an organized restaurant that caters to groups. In Jerusalem Old City, people get lost and delay tour schedules (years of experience in trying to run it at your preference). As for the Dead Sea - very few options are available in this barren unpopulated region. Group tours are suited for those who can go at a group pace. Traveling solo is obviously a whole different experience. Sincerely, Bein Harim team

I booked the Jerusalem Dead sea one day tour. Our tour guide Yoav was excellent. He was very punctual, planned, gave us detailed instructions on how much time to spend at each place and gave us due warnings when wait times were long. He was very easy to talk to and gave a lot of detail regarding different aspects of Israel throughout our drive. He made seeing multiple important places possible in one day due to his efficiency. Would highly recommend

Jacob was our tour guide, and he was seriously funny! But knowledgeable as well, and clearly passionate about Israel. He truly was a blast and I do not have any negative things to say about my experience. The company was super fast to respond to any of my emails about hotel pickup and they drop you off right at your hotel! When I visit Israel again, I will definitely do another tour with Bein Harim. A great history lesson, beautiful sights, and delicious food!

*For those of you who mentioned the sales tactics about the store you visit in Jerusalem, yes it is a sales presentation but no one is forcing you to buy anything. The store owners are kind enough to provide a clean bathroom, water, and coffee as you will need a break given Jerusalem is pretty much hot year round.*

I just came back from an amazing tour led by Zahi Shaked! He and our driver Abraham did an amazing job leading our group through Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. It was an action packed day, and throughout, Zahi gave interesting insights into the history of the areas and contemporary culture. He was full of energy and kept the group smiling with nice jokes and positive energy. I learned so much with this trip and am so glad I decided to take it. It is my first time to Israel and I am here for work, so it was a great first overview to each area and I can’t wait to go back in the future! As a friendly tip for the Dead Sea, bring you swim suit, a towel (or rent one) and a pair of flip flops or non-leather sandals. The beach they take you to is complete with a locker room and showers, it’s the perfect relaxing end to a visit to Jerusalem. Highly recommend if you are short on time and looking to explore some of Israel’s highlights!

Avi our tour guide for this trip was extremely knowledgeable and patient! He kept the tour to its schedule and ensured that the stragglers were brought in line so that we did not get behind. Jerusalem was amazing but to do it justice you do need a full day tour although we got a taste of what could be. Unfortunately due to Shabbat the Jewish quarter was closed and we were unable to see a lot of the Jewish side. So if you’re planning your trip make sure it’s not on a Saturday. The Dead Sea was certainly an experience. You float!!! We were encouraged to get the black mud on our bodies and to take a picture. The ablution area was sufficient to wash off the salt but do bring some bath gel with as you have salt everywhere!

We did the Jerusalem and Dead Sea One-Day Tour. Very well-organized tour with ample restroom breaks. Our guide, Zahi Shaked, was wonderful. Not only did he educate our group about the history and culture of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Israel, he was a great ambassador for world peace. Zahi was extremely knowledgeable, seemed to genuinely love talking about the sights and was a delight to spend the day with.
