      Great experience, equally interesting
Top notch. Bunyamin really has a passion for his country, Turkish history and culture. Coffee is of course part of the tradition and Bunyamin delivered wonderfully. Learning where the coffee beans come from, to grinding the coffee beans, boiling the water and stirring in the correct way, was all very interesting. We also heard more about Istanbul and Turkey in general during our workshop. Coffee tasted great. Really nice way to spend a quiet afternoon in an otherwise very busy city. Highly recommended. Thanks Bunyamin, good job.

Not only coffee.. culture and history too
This is the best experience afternoon that we have had. It is not only about coffee, it is about understanding the culture of coffee within the Turkish way. I really think everyone should take this workshop!

A great experience for coffee lovers
A very enjoyable and off the beaten path experience, especially for those interested in the history of coffee. ILVE, our guide was very sweet, personable and informative. The workshop is held in a 500 yo brick building and the aesthetics are amazing

      Core memory from Istanbul
The coffee-workshop was one of our favorite experiences in istanbul. Bunyamin and Aleyna were lovely hosts and shared lots of knowledge in good english. Would definitely recommend! A very fair price as you also get gifts! It‘s a little tricky to find the location, but the locals are super helpful and the location makes it a very authentic experience.

      A highlight of our trip
This was a great highlight of our trip! We learned about the history of turkish coffee, learned how to make it, drank coffee and also learned about fortune telling. It would be great if Bunyamin could collaborate with a fortune teller, I'm sure that would attract people even more! He was a great host and gifted us some very thoughtful presents. The workshop is a hidden gem and the location is definitely a highlight of this experience.

      A slow and chilled activity
Really worth a visit. The venue is very atmospheric and relaxing. The host was also very welcoming. We learnt a lot about the history of coffee. The fortune telling was a humorous little bit at the end. This is definitely a chilled out activity that takes you away from the holiday rush.

      Lovely!
Incredible tour! Ali our guide was attentive, engaging and knowledgeable. There are multiple options for going to the workshop location. We did option 1 which I recommend. He meets you near the subway station and guides you to the workshop. Cost of public transportation was included which was an added bonus. After the workshop was complete we sipped our coffee and enjoyed good conversation. Felt like hanging out with friends! Ali answered all of our questions about good places to eat, sights to see, etc. (added bonus he's super attractive 🤭) Thank you Ali!!! 😉

      Wonderful experience in Istanbul
Ali was our host for the afternoon. He graciously met us at a meeting point convenient for us and accompanied us to a very lovely neighbourhood in Istanbul for our workshop. My daughter and I enjoyed the workshop, and we gained so much knowledge about the origins, history, and customs of Turkish tea. At the end of the workshop ,Ali presented us with a beautiful gift to take home with us. I can highly recommend this activity. We noted that he offers other workshops like mosaic lamp making. Due to time constraints, we were unable to book this workshop. A visit to Istanbul is not complete if you do not attend this lovely activity.

      We liked this workshop a latte… ☕️
Ali was a (Turkish) delight from start to finish! He meet us at the train station and was calm and kind even though we were in a rush and late (Istanbul traffic 🤦🏼‍♀️). He was funny and knowledgeable when presenting his coffee class - we had a great time and got all his questions right at the end! 😂 We recommend this completely. Thanks Ali!

      Unforgetable experience
On the 23th of November me and some classmates of university organized a day of activities in Istanbul. One of such activities was the coffee making and fortune-telling experience at Istanbul workshops (Fabrikafa). It was absolutely amazing. We got to learn in detail about how Turkish coffee is made, the traditions and got to try to make it ourselves. All employees are incredibly kind, helpful and hospitable. They are genuinely passionate about their craft and are willing to sacrifice their own time and or needs to make you have the best experience. I was moved by the passion, the kindness and the reliability of everyone involved. It was one of the best things I ever done and all my 29 classmates had the best time of their lives. The information that was given was interesting and the employees are fun! Special shoutout to Ali who gave us a great few laughs with his dry humor and sarcasm. I had detailed conversations and a meeting beforehand with Bünyamin who is the absolute sweetest man ever. I recommend everyone to visit if they want an unforgettable, authentic and hospitable experience. Kind regards, Luna and all 29 Dutch University students 💜

the class was informative and fun. The instructor was serious about coffee and peppered the class with some good humor. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Istanbul.

This was the highlight of my trip
I cannot give this enough stars! Ali’s coffee and fortune telling class was simply awesome. He shared so much history about the Turkish coffee culture and showed us how to grind and brew our own cups properly. He follows that up with some fortune telling history and how to use the coffee grounds to read fortunes. We got gift bags to take home with a coffee cup, saucer, roasting cup, and some grounds. We also got a fortune telling deciphering card, history of Turkish coffee card, and a card with common Turkish phrases. So so fun!

      Great fun!
Bünjamin is an excellent host and teacher, we gained a lot of insight into Turkish culture and history. My partner and I aren't big coffee drinkers but that was not a problem at all as all of the details were explained really well even though we had no real knowledge before the experience. The fortune telling is a fun way to finish the experience and now that we were kindly gifted a Turkish coffee making set we will make sure to do it back home.

Everything was very thoughtfully curated, going beyond what I expected. Yes, we did get to learn about the history of Turkish coffee, learn how to make Turkish coffee, and how to do fortune telling over the coffee remains as expected. But I was very impressed with how it was conducted. Bunyamin was ready to tell us the history of coffee with good paintings / photographs, he had all the tools carefully setup, gifted us something that will help us remember how to make Turkish coffee later, and gave us great coaching on how to do fortune telling ourselves. Here is someone who really cares about the experience of the workshop participant, prepares very well to make it good, then executes it very well! I enjoyed the way he conducted the workshop that I was ready to sign up for more workshops he was offering, because I developed trust that he knows how to put up a good workshop!

This was an excellent way to spend time in Istanbul. Nargis was an exceptional host to the workshop that made it a lot of fun! I actually went back a second time because I enjoyed it so much. It is very special to take home a lamp you made yourself instead of one you just bought at the Grand Bazaar.
This is great value for money in my opinion and I would definitely recommend it for any Istanbul traveler.

This great workshop was a birthday gift for me and it was one of the best gifts I have ever gotten. The best part of it is you choose your own design and create your own unique mosaic lamp. Also, the atmosphere and energy of Bünyamin are peerless. I got the swan lamp, I definitely recommend you upgrade it to the swan type. Give your creativity and productivity a chance!

I did this workshop with my best friend. We are both kindergarten teachers living in Istanbul. We decided to stay in Türkiye for our winter holiday and wanted to feel like tourists in the city again.

We are individuals who are creative both professionally and in our free time. Before Christmas we both went to a candle making workshop in Karaköy and loved it.

For anyone unsure of doing this workshop - just do it. You don't need to be an artist or particularly talented creatively to make a lamp. They provide templates so you can arrange your pieces of glass without having to design from scratch. Then it's a matter of sticking on your chosen design with silicone glue.

My favourite part of the process was choosing the glass - it was like being in a sweet shop. 3 hours was the perfect amount of time. We were able to experiment with designs, drink coffee, chat and make our lamps without feeling rushed. We are both so happy with our finished pieces and the fact that we made them and have a wonderful memory together makes our lamps so much more special.

If I could give any advice it's that you should arrive early to enjoy the lovely cafe with a nice outdoor seating area. My friend and I went to random cafes nearby beforehand and if we knew how nice the cafe was at Fabrika we would of gone there instead.

We loved getting our creative juices flowing and it was a wonderful way to spend quality time together as friends.
Bünyamin is a saint for listening to us natter and cackle for 3 hours.

10/10 experience. Would recommend to everyone.

Also this would be great for a birthday party.

I joined this experience on my second visit to Istanbul. I loved the mosaic lamps I saw in the bazaars and markets and then I saw this experience here. We made our lamps in a nice cafe with a cool atmosphere. The setup was perfect and everything was prepared and ready before we arrived. There were a lot of different colors of mosaics to choose from to make our own design. The coffee that was offered was very good. I was a bit worried the lamp would be hard to transport in my luggage but actually it ended up being the perfect size, so I can fit it in my luggage easily. I highly recommend this experience for making your own mosaic lamp!

I had a really lovely time making my decorative turkish lamp! I'd say it's suitable for any solo traveller like me, couples, or groups. Benyumin met us in the European part of Istanbul and took us on the metro to the workshop space, which had a bustling cafe just next door.

He and his colleagues (thankyou Ahmet) helped me get back because I wanted to have a walk around the asian quarter, but make sure you've got an instanbul card if you want to get the metro or ferry back home!! (The machines in the old town are much easier to navigate and people will help you out there).

Overall a great way to spend a couple of hours and finish up with a souvenir!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with the warm hospitality and genuine insights into Istanbul's cultural vibe. The workshop took place in a cozy and authentic coffee shop, which created a friendly and comfortable atmosphere that boosted our creativity. With the tips and tricks the host has guided us with, I could immerse in the beauty and artistry of making traditional Turkish mosaic lamp with full on inspiration. This airbnb experience was a truly exceptional and beautiful way to feel the oriental vibe of the city and make a unique souvenir to take back home. Highly recommended!

10/10. Can't recommend enough. The host is so nice and friendly and it's different from anything you'll do in Istanbul. He's not pushy, didn't rush, didn't try to sell or charge for anything else. He offered an upgrade of the lamp, but with politeness and not trying to convince that it would be the best option.
The atmosphere of the workshop is unique and we felt like visiting a friend during this time.
Bunyamin was so welcoming and nice. My wife was doing the lamp and I would go to a museum and wait for her, but he was nice to invite me to join in, even if was just her doing the lamp. This was the highlight of the trip for sure. These guys are doing the right thing!

Fun and authentic experience and really cool that you get to take home something you make. Bunyamin prepared a template of mosaic patterns, 30+ colors of mosaics and many containers of different colored beads for the lamp, and then I learned how to adhere them to the glass bulb. I’m really happy with how the lamp turned out and am super excited to use my lamp at home.
