Overview
Navigating Bangkok’s chaotic roads independently can be a daunting task. Swap transportation hassles for a comfortable coach (with hotel pickup and drop-off) and a relaxing river cruise on this Ayutthaya tour. Explore the UNESCO-listed site on foot; hear guide commentary about its history; and visit highlights such as Wat Phra Si Sanphet and the summer palace of King Rama IV, famed for its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture.
Highlights
  • Escape Bangkok on a trip to Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Admire temples and palaces with a mix of architectural styles
  • A guide brings the history of each landmark to life
  • Relax during a coach journey and river cruise
  • Avoid the hassle of public transport and car hire
What to Expect
Following hotel pickup in Bangkok, you’ll travel north to the UNESCO-listed Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand (aka the Kingdom of Siam). On arrival, you’ll disembark the coach and embark on a walking tour of Ayutthaya temples, monasteries, and palaces. Admire temples such as Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, and Wat Phanan Choeng, famed for its gilded seated Buddha statue. Marvel at the well-preserved summer palace of King Rama IV with its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture. All admission fees are included in the price of the tour. After lunch, you’ll return to Bangkok via the Chao Phraya River (Mae Nam Chao Phraya) on a scenic cruise. The tour ends with hotel drop-off.

Just back from a day tour from BKK to Ayutthaya. A good introduction for anyone interested in historic Thai ruins, only an hour north of Bangkok. The tour itself was smooth and punctual, delivering on all promises. My only gripe is about the driver of the mini bus who collected

We were finding by this time in the trip that we were getting a bit “templed-out” but there was a good mix of activities which broke the day up. I would strongly advise getting one of the golf carts to go around the palace as you will struggle to see it all otherwise. You’d

Do this tour! Comfortable, fun, informative, and a delicious lunch on the boat cruise! The boat cruise, while relaxing and enjoyable was a bit long. But the day was well spent and well organized from pick up to drop off at our hotel. Had plenty of time at each temple and our

Ayutthaya is amazing and I strongly recommend visiting it. However, this day trip left me with mixed feelings. We were in a bus of 40 people instead of 15 as advertised. The guide never stopped talking, mixing interesting info with random jokes in bad english. The fist stop

A long but very enjoyable day. I was picked up at my hotel at 6:15 am, and returned to hotel at 6:00 PM. Overall, the tour was well worth it. Our tour guide, Pon, really made the trip both informative and fun. He shared his knowledge of the history of Thailand in a most
