Island peak Climbing Adventures

By Nepal Nomad Trekking
About
As Island Peak is graded Alpine 2B, suitable mountaineering experience is necessary. Island Peak is one of the most popular 6,000m peaks in Nepal. On this 3-week trip you acclimatise gradually whilst trekking up the Khumbu Valley, before climbing a lower mountain, Pokalde and then clambering on to Island Peak. For the climb you have the advantage of using a high camp placed at 5,600m, as well as a spare summit day to provide more flexibility. The ascent begins with a scramble up a rocky gully to a ridge where you put on crampons and rope up for the glacier crossing heading towards the south ridge. The route across the glacier is easy-angled, but it can be crevassed in places. From the bergshrund at the base of the headwall, 100m of snow and ice, as steep as 45° is climbed to arrive on the airy summit ridge.

Nagarkot to KTM on bicycle - AMAZING
100% recommend Sarba for any tour. We contacted him to see if he could organize a bicycle trip downhill from Nagarkot to Katmandu passing by Changu Narayan Temple. Although it is not a pre made trip he responded very quickly with quote and details. The guides Tashi and Ripoo were super friendly. We had such a good time with them, but also really informative. They also made us feel really safe all the way as I was a bit apprehensive about some downhill dirt trails and kathmandu traffic. After my husband wanted to organize an Enduro motorbike tour and Sarba was really commited to organizing this too.

      Simply awesome.
A 3 week comprehensive taste of all things Nepalese, a flight around Mt Everest, a trek to the Australian base camp of the Annapurna mountain range, Stupas, Holy Men, culture, traditions, food, a canoe ride at sunset and so very much more!

This was on my bucket list - Annapurna Base Camp Circuit Trek - Adventure of a Lifetime!
Oct - Nov 2022 I and two friends did the ABC (Annapurna Base Camp Circuit Trek) through Nepal Nomads Oct-Nov 2022. Sarba and his team at Nepal Nomads were excellent from day 1, picking us up at the airport to our final days of being in Nepal beyond the end of our Trekking as well. The Guide and 2 porters that supported us along the Trek, were wonderful and super friendly. Always ensuring that we were ok. I unfortunately became sick ¾ into our trek, and had to take a helicopter down, which Nepal Nomads organized it all and ensured I had transport to/from Helicopter and to/from hospital. Sarba from Nepal Nomads even visited me in the hospital once I arrived to check on me, which was super thoughtful and gracious of him to use his time to ensure I was ok. Nepal Nomad went above and beyond the service I was expecting. Because of them, this trekking experience is one I will never forget. It was a trip of a lifetime, and I had a great experience despite catching a virus, but Nepal Nomads really took care of us. Always checked in along the way to see if everything was ok. They organized side trips for us at the last minute after the trekking as well. I felt the cost was very reasonable for what we received. Thank You Nepal Nomads for the great service and experience! I highly recommend Nepal Nomads for your trekking in Nepal, and I loved supporting local tour guide companies. Especially since they were hit so hard during Covid, when this is their bread and butter. I wish Nepal Nomads all the best in the future! Julie Gordon Canada

      Excellent repeat experience
This is my second trip with Nepal nomad and Sarba. I had done the EBC route alone 5 years back and did it again this time with my two teens. As always, Sarba ( the owner) is extremely conscientious . He was worried about our kids and how they would handle the cold. We received clear and relevant tips on what to do and what not to. Right from the time we booked to the time we returned home, he was always available by all means of communication, took care of things in advance for us and generally looked after our comfort as best as he could given the weather. Since we had booked a private tour, he customized it for us how we wanted it and was very flexible with the itinerary. He is extremely customer friendly, really caring and it’s a pleasure to do a trip with him. His rates are half of the western operators. All my future Nepal trips would be with Nepal nomad. Would really recommend this company to anyone thinking of going there.

      Great trekking experience!!!
My daughter and I had a great time with Nepal Nomad as our host/guide. I don't recall the name of the trip, but it took us up to Phorze and Tengboche - about 7-8 days of trekking. Sarba, Nomesh and our porter were tremendous throughout the trip. We spent a couple of days with Sarba in Kathmandu before heading up to Lukla. The trekking was well-paced, accomodations were good and the food was just what we needed. We loved the tea houses where we would overnight. Lots of people to talk with and share experiences. We were trapped in Lukla for 4 days on the way back due to poor weather. Sarba and Nomesh made sure we had a roof over our heads despite the numbers filling Lukla and got us out on an old Russian helicopter! That was an experience all on its own. Definitely recommend Nepal Nomad!!

      Everest Base Camp Trek
Had a great time with my family! It was extremely cold but since our equipment was top quality, the experience in the night wasn’t as bad as one would think. The views were amazing and I still remember that feeling at the top of Kalapatr. Overall an enjoyable experience though I recommend to go during a warmer month.

      Yala Peak in Winter
We went for the Langtang Yala Peak trek during the Christmas holiday. My friend and I had to make this trek shorter than usual since we both have limited holiday. Lot's of preparations were made before the trip to make that happen and Nepal Nomand was helpful to us. Indeed the 8 days trek were carried out smoothly and we were really tired but very happy with the arrangement. Special thanks to our guide he is an extremely qualified and reliable one. And our porters provided all the luxury available in the mountain, having them cook for us in the Yala base camp is such a charm. It was a wonderful trip.

      Mera Peak
This is long overdue. I did Mera Peak with Nepal Nomad few months back. It was a very well planned and executed trip. The owner Sarbajit ji was very reliable and responsive leading up to the trek. The guides and porter that were assigned to us virtually pampered us throughout the two weeks we were out on the trails. We stayed in the best of tea houses and the food during the tent days was fabulous. I mean the kind of care they took at 5800m-6000m is just amazing. The entire credit for the successful summit goes to Sarbajit ji and his team. Thank you Sarbajit ji for making our trip memorable.

Seamless trekking & travel experience: Kathmandu, EBC, Pokhara & Buthan
Sarba of Nepal Nomad proved to be a true one stop shop for my travel companion and me. He organised a 2 week trekking trip to EBC for us, followed by a 1 week trip to Bhutan and 2 nights in Pokhara. He also provided us with valuable advice in Kathmandu and was always available to help when needed. I couldn't recommend Nepal Nomad more - thanks so much, Sarba!

      Mera Peak
Fantastic trip, great support from Sarba and team. Everything went well from Kathmandu pick up to the trek and climb. Natesh, Sarba's brother is a great climbing guide. This was my second trip with Nepal Nomad, to Namche Bazaar and to Mera. Well recommended.

      Everest Base camp
I had the most soul searching experience on the EBC trek with Sarba's folks. His brother Nara was my guide and I had a porter. I work in the Bay area california in a tech sector and wanted a vacation where i could be away from all gadgets ( phone, laptop, ipad etc) and where no one from work could contact me. I was an only female since my family refused to come to Nepal in december. Too cold for them! But they missed the most incredible adventure. I never once felt unsafe and Nara took very good care of me. I was beyond slow but they were very patient with me. Just good people! Experiencing the beauty of Himalayas above 12000 ft is something you have to see for yourself. I have fallen in love with Nepal and plan to come multiple more times. And of course always with Nepal Nomad. Once you get to know them, you would not want to travel with anyone else.

Everest Base Camp - truly incredible!
My husband and I trekked Everest Base Camp with Nepal Nomad a few years ago. We feel so blessed we found Sarba at Nepal Nomad. Sarba provided sound advice prior to the trip on equipment etc and on arrival had organised everything we needed from accommodation, meals, additional porter, and even took us on a tour on Katmandu's markets to buy last minute supplies! Nepal Nomad is well organised and provides a very personalised experience. Sarba and our porter who we trekked to Everest Base Camp with over 10 days made our experience unique, inspiring, fun and safe. They felt like family immediately, so warm and generous. When we returned from the trek we had the pleasure of meeting Sarba's family over dinner which was a wonderful experience. We reminisce about our Everest Base Camp experience with Nepal Nomad often, especially the beauty of the mountains and people and the sense of freedom felt. We would highly recommend Nepal Nomad and Sarba's personalised experience!

      "Beyond expectations!"
Sarba and his guides are an exceptional group to travel with. Having worked in the tourist industry, I can confidently recommend them to anyone. They not only took care of all of the arrangements, but had such a level of professionalism and friendship. I did the trek to Base camp and also had him organize a further trip to Chitwan NP, I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience. He even helped me out with medical attention that I needed before starting on the trek (I had food poisoning and and an infection from India). I've been on many treks over the years and Sarba is the only one I'm still in touch with - thank you again!

      Awesome
When I think about Sarba and the splendid Everest trekking I did, is his kindness, high organizing skills and professionalism. When we decided with a friend of mine to visit Nepal and Everest region,, we trusted him and his travel agency to arrange the trekking to Everest Base Camp, a dream life trip. My sudden mountain sickness obliged us to change route last minute, and he immediately found another peak more suitable to my physic. Overall it was an unforgettable experience, thanks to him. Highly recommended.

A very tough journey but finally succeeded. I am not an experienced trekker with very little knowledge on ice climbing. Climbing a peak over 6000m is definitely a dream to myself. This is all the efforts of Sarba of Nepal Nomad and my climbing guide Sanduk on their flexible and seamless trip arrangement and frequent review of my ability and performance throughout the journey. Sarba clearly described the trip details to me in the pre-climb meeting and Sanduk closely worked with me on all acclimatizations and final attack. The view at summit is marvellous and whole trip is an unforgetable life time experience. Highly recommeded this company to those looking for a wonderful Nepal visit👍.
