About
Drumming is part and parcel of the Ghanaian culture; Ghanaian music is characterized by a “strong rhythmic interest” that exhibits common characteristics in all regions. every region, ethnic group and tribe have a rhythm to their culture. This is why you are likely to see drumming and dancing in every part of the country. Whether it’s at the beach or on the streets of Accra you will see people drumming just for the fun of it and its entertainment to them and those around. Drumming can be fun and a way to immerse yourself into the Ghanaian culture, our goal is to make you enjoy this aspect of the culture and at the same time learn some Ghanaian drumming rhythms. Drums consist of skin or “drumhead” stretched over the open end of a frame or “shell”. Well known African drums include the Djembe and the Talking drum. .

Cape Coast and Elmina Castes are essential visits. But I'd book a small Group Tour if I came back.
The experience at Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle are visceral, meaningful, and leave deep impressions. It is an important for anyone to take steps in these places and learn their history. The guides at Cape Coast and Elmina varied in quality. The guide at Cape Coast was particularly knowledgeable and forthcoming. Cape Coast was also much less crowded. I recommend visiting both. The trip to Kakum was also enjoyable (if a little short - there are 7 short bridges that you traverse) but the views are plentiful. My complaint is that my expectations for the private tour/private driver differed from what we experienced. I thought we'd have someone that provided history and knowledge of the area as we drove to each location -- I wanted to learn more about Ghana and the sites we took in as we traveled through townships. What you get is a competent driver who will get you to each of the 3 sites but in our case spent time either quiet in the car on the drive or on his phone when we were at each location. He was friendly but not forthcoming with information or additional context.

          Interesting, but lacking professionalism..
My tour guide, Ben, was nice, but not so knowledgable. I in fact think that he was just a regular guy appointed to do the tour as he lacked a lot of enthusiasm. There was barely information given, instead only questions were answered. He was also not from the neighbourhood, but said to have lived there in the past. I’ve done a lot of comparable tours in Africa and Latin America and normally it’s always someone from the neighbourhood who knows everybody. Ben didn’t. The tour gives you the opportunity to get the interesting neighbourhood of Nima which I believe is a lot more pleasant doing it with a local. Asking a local friend would have probably given me the exact same experience. I suggest others to do that instead.

          Outstanding Service Provider
The entire trip was excellent, however, the W.E.B. Dubois Center was great for it's histrorical context. This is a trip every American should take, especially every African American!! Our guide Rashid was excellent, he stopped everywhere that mattered along the way. He was informative, professional, and very knowledgable. As an American we have a certain standard we are accustomed too, that this service met the standard 100%. This is an AAAAA+++++ service profider and comes highly recommeded!!! By the way, there is an area where you can shop, I would compare it to a swap meet, however, you have to go in with much confidence and NOT allow the locals to overwhelm you. Negotiate every price and stick too it. Be fair but firm. They are all polite, yet aggressive. Be equally aggressive.

          An insightful experience
I was very pleased with the Traditional Naming Ceremony! Everyone was very welcoming and lively. Hassan did a great job of explaining landmarks/activities as the trip progressed and made sure to provide a smooth ride to and from our destination.

Professional, personable, prompt, and pretty cool!
My partner and I did a seven-day tour of the greater Accra region with Hassan, visiting everything from Kakum and Elmina Castle, to Boti Falls and the W.E.B. Du Bois Museum. Hassan did a great job of explaining the recent urbanization and changes going on in the city, the culture here, and all Ghana's impressive political history. As we were both pretty unfamiliar with the area, we had a million and one questions, which he was happy to answer with interest and patience. What I really appreciated was that Hassan was extremely communicative and prompt, and that our driver Rashid proved a safe and steady guide through the streets of Accra. The trip had a few bumps that no one could have expected, including bad weather and bad traffic, but Hassan and Rashid helped us make the most of it and provided us with plenty of options to make up for anything we might have missed. We did tons of things that weren't on the itinerary, which made me feel like Tichama Tours isn't just interested in getting you in and out of the door, but personally invested in making sure you enjoy your stay and get full exposure to all the best parts of the city. It's really rare to find people and businesses who are so genuinely passionate about the work they do, and don't make you feel like a transaction. My only recommendation for future travelers would be to spend more than 7 days here, as there are so many sights to see! If you're looking for an expert guide, a friendly local to show you around Accra, and an organized way to see all that Accra and Ghana have to offer, I 200% recommend Tichama Tours!

          Very professional and honest
Me and my sister visited Ghana in 2020 and had a day tour to cape coast, Elimina castle and kakum national park via Tichamatours. This was without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Hassan, our tour guide. We felt extremely welcomed and with such a friendly atmosphere we had a fantastic start to end. Hassan provided everything we needed for the trip and ensured our safety.
Hassan had such a warm personality and was highly motivated, organised and knowledgeable especially when it came to the country’s rich history and beautiful sceneries. The sceneries were so beautiful so much so that it felt like home.
Many thanks again and I recommend Tichamatours to every single person!!

          Important, fantastic trip, albeit expensive!
Such a good learning experience, massively important for us diasporans effected by these very actions to learn the history of them. Ben was a fantastic guide and shared some great information with us on the drive also. The canopy walk was also brilliant, challenging but worth it for the views once you’re up there. The drive from Accra to cape coast is somewhere between 3-4 hours each way. Make of that what you will lol.

Saw great sites and learned a lot
I always like learning new things when going to different places, so I really loved this tour. We stopped by the WEB DuBois center. I am from the USA, but didn't know enough about W.E.B. DuBois' ties to Ghana. Also, I heard of Kwame Nkrumah, but to hear about some of his history and the history of Ghana and to see some of the historical artifacts was fascinating. The tour guide was knowledgeable about the history of Ghana and I had a great time.
