This tour departs from Victoria Falls to the Chobe National Park in Botswana. You will be transferred to the Kazungula border where their Botswana Guide will meet them. From there you proceed straight to the River where you will spend the morning game viewing along the Chobe River. Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided. The morning cruise ends at around 12.30hrs and clients are then taken to a hotel on the riverbank for lunch. After lunch, clients board safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park where they will have the opportunity to enjoy an abundance of wildlife. After the game drive, you are taken back to the Kazungula Border where you will be met by their Zimbabwean Guide for their return transfer to Victoria Falls, arriving at approximately 17.30hrs. Please note: Due to the previous night’s sightings, the order of the activities might be changed, i.e. start with a Game drive and finish with the Boat Cruise.

          Excellent Safari
Cuckoo safaris arranged for us to be collected from Bulawayo airport and we stayed 2 nights at Matobo Hills lodge with an all day safari seeing the amazing white rhinos in addition to much other wildlife. The views from Worlds view are beautiful. We were then collected and driven north to Hwange lodge where we had a full day and a morning safari. We were then picked up and driven to Victoria falls where we enjoyed a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. The next days we visited Chobe National park in Botswana and the Victoria falls. The arrangements were faultless and our host Simon went out of his way to ensure we were looked after from beginning to end. Thoroughly recommend.

          Cuckoo’s Safari Understood the Assignment
We found Cuckoo's Safari's Through Good Reviews on TripAdvisor while Organizing Our Victoria Falls Tours. That’s when We connected with Tatenda from Cuckoo’s Safari who helped Us plan most of Our Custom made Tours right via WhatsApp. He was very responsive. We felt everything was gonna be Ok & were made comfortable before Arrival by Tatenda. On arrival We were met by Simon who delivered as promised, a Top Notch Guide offering tips to spice up the Trip. Online Reviews didn’t Lie coz we got an Amazing Experience from Them, Hassle free pick up from the airport to our Hotel, to our activities and especially the numerous border crossings. We liked some of the special touches added which gave a special feeling like arranging our dinner at the river bank restaurant after the river cruise to allow more time to enjoy the dinner which was quite nice. You have to be escorted back to the Parking coz Animals just Roam Around unrestricted. We had an amazing Private Tour with Simon & Tatenda around Victoria Falls Town & got to know its rich history. We got to visit the historic Victoria falls hotel & train station which was a nice treat. Cuckoo's also organised an amazing day Trip to Chobe Park Botswana to experience the land & boat Cruise Safari which was 🔥. The guide, July, is a very funny guy and really spiced up the trip. Cuckoo’s helped us organize our trip to Devil’s pool, the lion’s walk and many activities separate from their package which was really appreciated. On the Zambian side, Martha was a great guide taking us on the tour of the falls with great stories it made the whole trip feel well organized. Cuckoo’s understood the assignment & our hyper personalities & this came through. We made lot’s of great memories and made new amazing friends(Simon&Tatenda) in Cuckoo’s Safari. Highly recommend!!!

          A fantastic all round experience
We did the 6-Day Hwange NP, Victoria Falls & Chobe NP package which was fantastic overall. Our Zimbabwe driver, Simon (and his offsider), our Hwange safari guide, Bheki, and the Chobe safari guide, Figo, were all amazing as were practically all people who helped us along the way, those part of the tour and those who we met along the way. The accommodation at Shongwe was a bit more basic than we're used to but certainly had great service and a very welcome pool and the cruise along the Chobe river was certainly more basic too...but once we got over the initial surprises, we had a great time. Thanks all!

The whole process through Cuckoo Safaris from booking to pick up and transfer back to Victoria falls was seamless and ran like Clockwork! The accommodation at Hwange Safari Lodge was beautiful with elephants so close from their waterhole! Hwange national park was beautiful and our guide was amazing! Thank you so much Simon and Tatenda!

We had Gift as our safari guide and when I say he was amazing it’s doesn’t come close to describing his knowledge and expertise as a guide. We were so fortunate to have him as our guide and I can’t recommend him enough…thank you so much Gift.

          Low-water season
We opted for victoria falls tour from both sides of the falls on 1 October during the low-water season. There was no water at the highest point of the Zimbabwe side. There was only trickles of water at the Zambia side. We came here knowing it’s low-water season but did not expect some parts of the falls to dry up completely. This is partly due to the drought as well. We were met with a driver and guide from Zimbabwe side, the guide walked us through all the photo stops from lookout point 1 to 16. Take note that exit is a different route. We changed driver and guide when crossing the border to Zambia. The Zambia driver bought us water and took care of us during the border customs as it was a bit chaotic. Both guides were great and patient. Lunch time is not included in the tour. We asked the Zimbabwe driver to drop us at Lookout Cafe for lunch and we got a taxi back ourselves for USD 5/person. All in all, we spent about 2.5h at Zimbabwe side and about 1h at Zambia side.

Great Views During The Hot Season
The views of Victoria Falls in September were amazing! Seeing the scope of the falls is best seen from both Zimbabwe and Zambia. Although the water level is approximately 25% of full there is still plenty of falling water to see and you can see everything in the canyons below, because the mist is far less than when the Falls is at full capacity during the April / May period. Be prepared to walk several miles and you will not need a rain coat during this time of year because the little mist that you encounter will feel great as it cools you during this very hot time of year! It is quite dry so you will see land that is normally covered in water. You will encounter many entertaining baboons on the Zambia side and you will literally enter a small patch of rain forest (during the dry season) which feels great and is such a contrast to the dry brush that surrounds it. I know that April and May provides a much cooler and wetter experience and for that reason if I return it would be at that time of year. Do keep in mind you may see less far less of the falls during the wet season because of the tremendous mist.

          Great excursion!
Excellent tour of both sides of Victoria Falls. Picked us up at our hotel. Crossed the bridge by Van. Guides helped with Visa arrangements going into Zambia, and back into Zimbabwe. Martha was our Zambia side guide of the Falls. She is WONDERFUL! Friendly, personable and full of knowledge of the area history and best sights to see the gorgeous views. Back in Zimbabwe, our guide Shelton was waiting for us. He is GREAT! He took us another 2 1/2 hours walking the trail along the Falls. He knew all the history, and could answer all our questions. He even had a Guide book about birds with him and pointed out the different species we saw. He knew where the best photo places are, and both Martha and Shelton took many pictures for us! There were only 5 of us in this group tour. We really enjoyed our time on this excursion, even though it was 105 degrees F, sunny and dry! Lots of opportunities for shade, rest, and water was provided in the Van to take with us. Highly recommend!

An excellent tour with breathtaking views of the Falls from both countries
The tour started with Martha who picked us up as planned, on time, from the Victoria Falls Waterfront Lodge where we were staying. From the Zambian side, because of the time of year, the water on the falls was rather limited (as some of it is diverted for hydroelectricity purposes), but this allowed us to see the beauty of the cliffs and also the escarpment which could be seen very clearly. We walked to the many points on the walking path that gave us a clear view of the cliffs and the Falls as well. A very different type of beauty. Then we proceeded to the Zimbabwean side. Rather than drive across the bridge separating the two countries, Martha suggested we walk the bridge, which was a great idea as we took in some great views along the way. She was very helpful and guided us in processing our visas on arrival into Zimbabwe. Following the entry into Zimbabwe, we were handed over to Shelton who escorted us to the Victoria Falls Park on the Zimbabwean side. This park is huge and covers well over 1.5km of walking trail from one end to the other. Here we could experience the full majesty of the Falls with thundering water from various viewing points that were strategically placed for an excellent viewing experience. Though there was plenty of spray from the falls at most viewing points, we had crystal clear views which were breathtaking. Shelton was very knowledgeable on the flora and fauna and knew all of the bird species that we saw during our walk and even showed us the info in a handbook he carries with him on tour. He was also able to answer all the questions we had on the trees and vegetation that we encountered in the park. A portion of the walk feels like you’re within a tropical rainforest, as there is constant spray from the Falls in that section of path, with some of it raining down from the treetops. At the end of the tour, Shelton helped us with our exit at the visa checkpoint in Zimbabwe where Martha and James (the driver) were waiting to receive us and take us through Zambian Immigration entry and back to our Lodge. This tour more than met our expectations. One must see the Victoria Falls from both countries to truly experience the Falls as a whole. We were fortunate enough to have been able to see both the dryer side (this time of year) and the one thundering with water and full of spray. During and following the rainy season, the Falls can be seen gushing with water from the view points on the Zambian side as well. The guides Martha and Shelton took a real interest in showing us around and made all the difference to our experience on this tour. A big “Thank you!” to them.

Epic 10 day trip of Zimbabwe and Botswana with Cuckoo Safaris
We personalised the Cuckoo Safari 10 day tour with the help of Tatenda, adding Hwange NP and removing the Saltpans. We also upgraded our Chobe hotel and Tatenda was very helpful with all our queries. Before the trip we were added to a whats app group with our guide Simon who we had read about in previous reviews and was so happy to hear would be our guide. We stayed at the Pioneer Lodge in Victoria Falls which was a gorgeous lodge style hotel with lovely gardens, at Chobe we upgraded to a riverview apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an amazing balcony definetely worth the upgrade, elephant sands was our break inbetween kasane and maun accomodation was basic but comfortable and the elephants were the star of the show and at maun we stayed at Cresta Maun which was fine comfortable room and friendly staff. In Victoria Falls, we did the sunset cruise, the falls tour from both sides and a day trip to Hwange. The falls were at their best on the zimbwawe side and Simon took us round and was a brilliant guide, our guide on the Zambia side Delphister was lovely too and it was interesting seeing more of the geology on this side. Hwange was an interesting drive Simon and the other Tatenda did really well negotating the roads, we stopped at Hwange Safari Lodge to pick up our packed lunch and then met our guide Big M who was brilliant and took us out into the park, we saw 3 male lion, elephant, hippos, giraffe, antelope etc. We then went to Chobe where we did 3 game drives with Gift and a river boat cruise with July both from Puku safaris, both great guides, Gift was amazing at tracking the wildlife and we saw lions on every outing with him including cubs amazing. We also did a game drive from elephant sands and then in Maun we did the helicopter flight over the delta amazing but terrifying as we had never been in a helicopter before and then this one had no doors! A very peaceful and scenic mokoro trip with Gidean from the local village and then a long but brilliant day to Moremi game reserve with Lee where we saw wild dogs (and pups) and hyena. We were really lucky when it came to wildlife, but also through great guides tracking skills, our main guide through it all Simon was amazing so knowlegable and friendly he is a credit to cuckoo and I would highly recommend him as your guide, we had a few issues along the route as always happens on trips but they were all sorted and we always knew Simon was there to help either in person or through whats app. Zimbabwe and Botswana are both incredible countries, with wonderful people and the amount of wildlife is just incredible I never thought I'd lose count of the amount of lion we saw, we were also very lucky to see leopard, countless other wildlife, and beautiful scenery and sunsets if you are wondering whether to go we highly recommend as two sisters we never felt unsafe. One of us got a upset stomach towards the end of the trip but this did not spoil the trip just to be aware this may happen. We both managed to eat vegetarian fine at all times on the trip but found it more tricky to eat vegan although Simon did his best to help and this was really appreciated. We hope to travel with Cuckoo and Simon in the future and are excited to hear of their plans in Namibia.

Awesome itinerary, seamless coordination, wonderful experience
The itinerary was awesome, giving us a comprehensive and wonderful experience exploring the Victoria Falls, the wildlife in Chobe and getting a peek into the local way of life in a rural Zimbabwean village. The coordination was seamless though we had to cross Zambian and Botswana borders. Very safe countries. A special callout to Simon for doing a great job with the coordination. The guides and rangers assigned to us helped in making everything awesome too. Thanks!

At First i was a bit hesitant traveling to Africa with a 06 year old as we knew none and has no idea about the place other than the photos on the internet and some reviews from other travelers. After several searches on the internet , i received an email from Cuckoo Safaris addressed by Mr Tatenda Tarzan. The few emails and one phone call to Mr Tarzan had put an end to my search and gave me confidence that they could take care of my trip .
Cuckoo safaris is a Team of young, educated and dedicated locals who definitely are professionals and know their job. Right from the time we landed in Vic falls , through out and till the end of my trip, the team was always checking up on us and making sure that we are comfortable and enjoying our trip . The first day up on checkin , we were not happy about the Room allocated and which was reported to Tatenda . The same night , they managed to upgrade our room ensured that we weren’t facing any discomfort . They have excellent tie-ups with their partners like luxury sunset cruise, chobe NP, Bungee Jump, MJ Helicopters, Vic falls tours. They have also arranged a complementary Village tour which was requested last min and made that happen which gave us an opportunity to meet the locals and donate some essentials

Mr Simon was the Guide throughout and was a very friendly , knowledgeable and accommodating person . 10/10 for his patience and kindness. This guy is informative and ask him any question about his country and land he was born.

I will not forget to mention Mr Lewis who has been our driver during the first two days and he would like to keep telling us everything he knew about the place . He never keeps quiet and let us be during the drive .

Overall , we had a very pleasant and stress free, a very Happy and exciting trip to Vic Falls . Cuckoo safari made it feel so easy and relaxed holiday. The pickups were never late and we never had a moment waiting for something or someone. Excellent service!! On time, well planned, safe and organized experience. Well done Team. And Thankyou ****.

Our tour was just great, such an amazing experience. The organization and communication with Cuckoo Safaris were excellent, we've been helped with payments, visa, then met strictly on time. Everything went smoothly.

Chobe park is a gem, it was our first safari and we've immediately seen 3 out of African Big Five, as well as numerous crocos, hippos, and even giraffes, and many more. Our guides were also amazing, very helpful and patient, told us everything about nature and did their best to show us the wild life.

Overall me and my partner are very grateful to Cuckoo Safaris for such an amazing experience and highly recommend their services. Thank you!

This was an exceptional trip. The title of the trip is misleading. It is advertised as a private tour, and as a small group tour. Although I was expecting a private tour, there were only 4 of us in the group. We were picked up in a van and taken to the boarder to exit Zimbabwe, then driven a short distance to the Botswana boarder where we had to clear customs. We followed the same routine when we returned to Victoria Falls later in the day. (Tip: It is a good idea to purchase the KAZA visa for $50 when you enter Zimbabwe, then you will not have to pay again when you re-enter from Botswana.). The vehicle that collected us at the boarder was a safari jeep. We drove immediately to Chobe National Park and commenced the land safari. It was fabulous! We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, etc. in abundance and close-up. Our guide, Cobra, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and professional, an experienced tracker and guide. Following the land portion of the safari, we had lunch at a beautiful restaurant where we enjoyed a nicely prepared buffet in a semi-outdoor setting on the Chobe River. Following lunch we walked down the ramp to the boat that would take us on the water portion of the safari. This experience is not to be missed!!!! We saw elephants playing in the water and crossing in line to another island, crocodiles lounging on the beach, Rhinos soaking in the water, and much, much, more. All this viewing was a very close range. I regret to say that I do not remember the name of the water safari guide. He was excellent. He positioned the boat so that we had very good views of the animals and maneuvered around the river so that we had lots of animal viewing opportunities. After the cruise, we returned to the boarder via the safari jeep and then returned to Zimbabwe via van. It was a great experience, one with lasting memories.

Great day out. Lunch was fantastic. Wild life viewing wasn’t bad either. Coming from Zimbabwe it feels alittle rushed on the safari drive. Quite a few of us on the same trip paid different prices, through trip advisor was the most expensive so I’d recommend booking in town for around 70US less.

Hi Thank you so much your review and booking with us. Just to clarify on the issue of prices, its important not to mislead future clients because since Chobe day trip from Victoria Falls offered by different companies online and on ground but what important is to take note of the inclusions and exclusions as well as the experience which is the most important. We are happy that you enjoyed your tour and we really apologize for the things that you think might be improved on your side. Kind regards Cuckoo Safaris Team

Excellent day trip from VF to Chobe with Cuckoo Safaris for family of four with older teens, Simon was our guide and driver to the border with Botswana—about 45 minutes in a car— who was very informative about animals, Africa, economy, family life. Border crossing took about 15 minutes and then we were handed over to Puku Travels for the three hour boat ride on the Chobe River in a 16 seater boat with a tarp cover for protection against the sun. Ian was our guide who was excellent and pointed out animals and birds along the way. The scenery is great and cruise is very peaceful. Felt very safe. Saw hippos, crocs, birds, buffaloes, and elephants on the shore and then one crossed the river to get to an island which was the highlight. Be aware no bathroom on boat. Should take jacket and binoculars. Then excellent buffet lunch at Cresta mowana at 1230 to 130 then 3 hour land safari on open air with “cobra” who was outstanding as he got us close to herds of elephants within 50 feet and 12 lions drinking at the river and then walking in front of the jeep one by one within a few feet of jeep. Also saw a leopard after a fresh kill. Drove back to border and then driven back by Simon to VF by 545 pm. Must do the day trip to Chobe if you go to VF. Also did the falls tour with Simon the day before which was outstanding.

I cannot say enough about how great our experience was on this tour. We were timely picked up from our Victoria Falls hotel by Simon then transported by him for about 45 mins to the border where we changed vehicles to begin the safari tour. Simon is a walking encyclopedia! If you’re the type of traveler who enjoys learning about history and culture, Simon is your guy. He was very accommodating and all around just excellent at his job with keen knowledge about the animals and countries that make up the continent. We were handed over to another guide- Muffin- for the Safari. Another great guide! Patient, kind and knowledgeable. We started with a river Safari on Chobe river, then had lunch at a lodge restaurant along the river, then transferred to a Jeep for a land Safari tour. Overall our day ran from about 9am to 4:30pm. Well worth the experience! Please note you will need to get a visa to come back into Zimbabwe after the safari (about $30)

you get picked up and first thing you have to do is pay $40.00 ($20.00) per person suppose to be for park fees but never saw the drive give any money to Safari Guide. Between drive to Botswana closing the border doing all the paperwork to exit Zimbabwe enter Botswana. We were picked up at 7:30 AM and did not actually get out on a game drive until 10:30 AM. The safari driver was okay - not great. We did not even have cold drinks as in water/sodas etc they were all warm. Coming back with all the formalities was the same and very time consuming. VERY IMPORTANT if you are flying into Victoria Falls make sure you get a multiple entry $45.00 (A single entry is $30.00) the problem is when you come back from tour if you do not have a second entry it is another $60.00 for two people. This applys to any tours or game drives you do the are out side of Zimbabwe. ALSO be aware do not fly into Victoria Falls and have a hotel in Livingstone. Trying to get transportation from VF airport to Livingstone is impossible not to mention extremely expensive and then you are going to end up paying for another visa into Zimbabwe as the best spots to view the falls is from the Zimbabwe side. The helecopter ride over the falls is okay but due to all the mist you can not really see the full falls. Even on the groud very difficult not to mention plan on getting very wet even if you stay on the path above the falls from all the mist.

Thank you for taking time to express yourself but as we go through your review it seems your wrote this out of anger and we do not provide helicopter or anything to do with Livingstone. 96 percent of your complain it’s totally different from what we offer. You booked Chobe day Trip from Victoria falls small group tour. I will answer only about park fees you mentioned and you said you did not see the driver handing over money to the guide. Park fees are paid day prior the tour and the driver will bring money to the office not handing over to the guide. Also l will answer about Visa for the benefit of other clients. This tour is booked by different people from different countries. Not all countries require visa to enter Zimbabwe or Botswana. Most of the guest they usually do research and ask their agents so that they can have more information and there is an option to send a message to us, you can advise us your nationality and we can be able to assist. Please note that all other things you mentioned we don’t provide and 96 percent of your complain you were suppose to write reviews to the company you booked with Helicopter and other things you mentioned. Thank you for booking with us and apologize for any inconvenience caused

I went with Cuckoo for all three of our activities because they got great reviews and am so happy we did! They give you a quality experience and it’s so much more personable! We’ve traveled to over 60 countries and the three tours we booked with Cuckoo Safaris are at the top of our list of incredible experiences.

The morning of this tour our driver picked us up and advised us that it would be around a 60 minute drive to get to the boarder. Along the way we were treated with a mini safari of giraffes, kudu and elephants! The driver would stop so we could take photos and never made us feel rushed. Once at the boarder he walked us into the immigration and the whole process was quick and easy! Make sure to get a multiple entry visa!! We walked 10 steps and our guide and driver in Botswana was there to collect us and drive us to the immigration office on that side. Easy process!

We were taken to a gorgeous resort where we boarded a small boat that seats 16 max. I think we were lucky going during a slower season as it was just us and a family of three on the boat. There were many boats on the water and some really big ones but the small boats got you so much closer to the wildlife. We spent 3 hours on the water and the time flew by!

Lunch was back at this gorgeous resort. Buffet but lots of selection and yummy. I forgot my iPhone charger and the front desk will charge your phone for you.

The land tour through Chobe was also just as great! We had a safari vehicle with a top and it was a life saver under the hot sun. So much wildlife and our driver was not only funny but truly got us the best angles to see the animals and we never felt rushed. We were also really lucky and were the only two people in the safari vehicle that day. Crazy!! Incredible day tour to Botswana!! Highly recommend

I was a solo traveler and really wanted to experience Chobe Park on a day trip but I was short on time and only 1 person. I contacted several companies who were either unwilling to do the tour with only 1 person or were not willing to customize the tour to fit the time frame that I had. However, Cuckoo Safari was great. I did have to pay for 2 people even though I was just 1 person, but they accommodated my requests for changes to the times of the standard tour. I really enjoyed my Chobe Park (half) day tour and I’m happy that I found Cuckoo safari. I would definitely book with this company again.
