Overview
Explore the private, historic Kipu Ranch in Kauai with this off-road adventure. Pass cattle and wild turkeys on a 4WD vehicle as a guide shows you some of the island’s most scenic and secluded spots, including filming locations for Jurassic Park and other blockbusters. Swim in the Huleia River, and plunge into a waterfall pool from a giant rope swing. Plus, enjoy a deli-style picnic served riverside.
What to Expect
Make your way to Kipu Ranch to get ready for the ride with safety gear and a practice session. Learn to drive a 2- or 4-person 4WD vehicle, or take the passenger seat if you prefer. Set off with a guide on rugged trails that wind through the mountains and valleys used as backdrops in Hollywood hits like Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Descendants.

Cool off with a swim in the Huleia River and enjoy a picnic on the riverbanks. A moderate hike leads down to a spring-fed waterfall, where you can swim under the falls or plunge into the pool at the base via an Indiana Jones–style rope swing.

Back in the 4x4, look out for pigs, cattle, pheasants, and peacocks on the return drive to the ranch base.

Frankly I would not. You do tend to go fast at times. No troubles but there is a slight angle of danger on this trip. Two stops. One for lunch which would be no problem and the next is a steep climb down to a waterfall... More
