The trip with Andreas was very good. He was incredibly friendly and graceful and provided excellent guidance in a very difficult part of Lithuanian (human) history. Well worth it.

Excellent
My family and I recently did this tour on our trip to Vilnius. Our guide Andreas picked us up punctually from our hotel. He was very friendly and polite. Firstly we visited the ghetto then on to Paneriai Memorial Park. Andreas gave us lots of information. We have visited several holocaust sites and as always it is a very sobering experience. We then visited Trakai Castle which was very pretty in the winter sunshine. After an hours free time Andreas took us back to the hotel. We were all totally satisfied with the tour and would highly recommend it.

Andreas is the best! He is very knowledgeable and shows us the history of Lithuania and region in an interesting manner. He gave us have enough time to roam around and is a master in selfie! Thanks, Andreas!!

Trakai, well worth visiting
Dec 2019
Well kept and maintained "medival castle". Located on an island 30 km west of Vilnius city. Trakai village is served by 40-50 buses and trains daily departing from the central railway/bus staion in Vilnius ("Stotis"). Approx. 2 km walking distance to the castle from Trakai village. Possibly the only castle in Europe located on an island, not far from the geograpical center of the European continent !

Full day out
Dec 2019
Anyone visiting Vilnius should undertake a small group tour to Trakai Castle. It commences with a visit to the Jewish Quarter in the Old City. It continues to Paneriai Memorial Park which is a very moving experience. The tour concludes with the picturesqueTrakai Castle before returning to the city. Hopefully, you would be fortunate enough to have an experienced, knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide like Andreas.

Informative great day
We booked this tour for last friday. Was picked up from hotel by our guide Andreas. We undertook the "sad"part of the tour first around the awful events from ww2 the content and delivery was spot on. Then on to the castle where and tour was informative learnt lot of the history of Lithuania. Would recommend a great day and delivered in the appropriate way for the 2 different parts of the tour.

Fabulous tour
Sep 2019
Another friendly welcome by Inga (I'd been on the Hill of Crosses tour with Andreas, the day before) and as we waited for some people, she told me and another traveller about life in Lithuania.

Once everyone was on board we travelled through the Jewish quarter and she told us about the history and the horror the area had suffered.

Stopping at Paneriai, a beautiful peaceful memorial park, I didn't realise we would be seeing Nazi killing pits. Inga relayed the story of the history of the area and what happened in an informative but compassionate way. It was as moving as my visit to Auschwitz. We had a little time to visit the small museum.

A short ride later, we were in Trakai and Inga accompanied us around the castle, telling us the history of the area.

As a solo traveller (who is rubbish at selfies) it was great that Inga took her time to take photos for us.

We had about an hour to have something to eat or explore further.

I'd read and heard about how easy and cheap it is to make your own way to Trakai but it was worth the money to hear the stories surrounding the Jewish quarter, the memorial park and the castle. Inga was a great driver and guide, so very friendly and welcoming, and the other people on the coach were a great bunch, which made it into a fabulous tour. Highly recommend.
