Overview

UNESCO-listed Budapest boasts many iconic sights, but exploring both sides of the Danube in a day can be difficult. Save time with hotel pickup, and traverse the hills of Buda and long avenues of Pest with ease in provided transport. Visit many city highlights, including the Chain Bridge, Gellért Hill, Széchenyi Thermal Baths, and more, benefiting along the way from a professional guide’s insights into the city’s history.

What to Expect

Begin your tour with pickup from outside your Budapest hotel. Pass the Hungarian Parliament and Chain Bridge as you drive toward the Danube, then cross the Margaret Bridge to the Buda side of the river.

Arrive to the Castle District and alight for a walking tour. Wander to the Matthias Church and enjoy views from the Fisherman’s Bastion, before re-boarding for a drive up Gellért Hill. Admire the hilltop fortress and absorb vistas of the river and city.

Next, travel back to Pest via the Elisabeth Bridge. As you head to the Heroes’ Square beside the City Park, pass the Dohány Street Synagogue, Central Market Hill, and Széchenyi Thermal Baths. Arrive to the landmark to view its famous sculptures, then set off down Andrássy Avenue. Notice St Stephen’s Basilicia and the Hungarian State Opera House, before concluding your tour at a central location in the city.

Budapest mini bus and walking tour

We were collected from our hotel and transported to the mini bus which was a great help. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, gave us time to have a look around and take photos. Both the driver and guide were very helpful with my mobility...More

Very good, just not as well planned as it needs to be

We enjoyed our tour, but it was not perfect. Firstly the tour was a dual language tour which meant everything was in Spanish, then English - so you felt as if you were getting a slightly second hand version of things as you passed them....More

Disappointing

The theory of this tour is great in that you would get an insight in this lovely city but in practice it didn’t work like that As ever with group tours, one is beholden on others to keep to the timescales. On this trip, there...More

Not a Hop on Hop off, Open Top Tour

My mistake, I probably didn’t read the blurb. Picked up at our hotel and travelled speedily through the city to another transfer/pick-up point. This transfer did appear a little chaotic but eventually we boarded another mini bus with our guide. Travelled to the main points...More

Great overview

A nice tour where Joe gave us information about the stops then let us walk around on our own before onwards to the next stop. Learnt loads about history and thought the tour was well paced.
