Get picked up at the Kotor Port at the start of your excursion. Your group’s start time will be coordinated to match your ship’s arrival. Travel through the valley of Grbalj toward the Adriatic Coast, passing through Becici and Rafailovici en route. You’ll also make a photo stop at a viewing point for Sveti Stefan, a 15th-century fortified town on an island that today is the site of an exclusive luxury resort.
Arrive in Budva, a town with more than 2,500 years of history, and begin an in-depth walking tour. Take a stroll through Budva’s narrow streets and intimate squares, learning about the city’s strong connection to the ancient Republic of Venice. You’ll also learn about the various groups like the Romans, Byzantines, and Slavs that once occupied the city, and explore highlights including the Citadel Fortress, the town walls, and several churches including Holy Mary in Punta, St. Sava, Holy Trinity, and St. John.
Leave Budva and travel by vehicle back to Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Travel back through the history of this ancient town, learning about its settlement during the Roman era and subsequent occupation by the Republic of Venice from 1420 until 1797. Take a sightseeing tour through Kotor, stopping to check out the 12th-century Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, the city’s ancient defensive walls, and the well-preserved medieval Old Town.
You’ll finish your excursion in Kotor’s Old Town, allowing free time to explore the city on your own before walking back to the port just across the street.
