Wellington Gourmet Walking Tour with Lunch
My wife and i had a fabulous tour learning about and tasting local purveyors of coffee, chocolate, gelato, and ate an artisan lunch at a local higher-end, local grocery store. The tour guides have extensive knowledge of the city and its history. Thoroughly enjoyed the 3.5 hour plus tour.

    Great Experience!
Our tour guide, Tina, really made this tour an extra enjoyable experience. Not only did we sample some great bites but she gave us an overview of some Wellington's history, its architecture and art. We went down some off the beaten paths that we would not have found on our own which was great. The gourmet lunch at the end of the day was the crowning touch.

    A great exprrience
We have completed a 4 hour private tour with Zest in Wellington and they were great. Fabs was our guide and nothing was too much trouble. She combined. A short guided tour if part of the CBD and wharf area with some excellent stops for coffee, gelato, food market, lunch and of course Wellington chocolates. There was plenty of time for tastings, we were greeted warmly by shop owners and lunch at Logan Brown was delicious. Thanks Fabs for a great tour.

    Excellent selection of destinations
We spent a couple of days in the Wellington area with a ZEST Food Tours guide and enjoyed our time very much. She introduced us to a variety of businesses: cafes, creameries, restaurants, wineries, olive oil producers, art galleries, delis, etc. She paced the days very well, giving us enough time to enjoy each place, without dwelling too long with any of them. The places selected were clearly of a higher level, with quality products and passionate owners.

    Foodie Walking Tour of Wellington
Our informative guide, Tina, met our ship and our lovely small group of seven guests headed out for gastronomic samplings. During our trip to the city center, Tina highlighted many interesting buildings and provided her local knowledge of Wellington. At our first stop, we sampled cheeses, meats, chutneys, crackers along with many peanut butter samples. Walking next to an art store, we sampled various local honey and then on to the coffee house. The barista explained the various choices available to us and then took our coffee orders. Snacks of scones and dessert squares accompanied our various choices of coffee. Gelato samples were next and once we decided which flavours we wanted, two scoops were provided to us. Our final stop was the chocolate factory where we learned about the chocolate making process and then sampled many varieties of their chocolates. All along the way, Tina ensured that we were all satisfied with our tastings and then made sure of our return to the shuttle. We would recommend this tour very highly! Thanks Tina!

    Tasty Tour of Wellington
At the beginning of your trip to Wellington, NZ, take this foodie tour. Our guide, Wilma, walked us through the city, stopping for yummy treats like steamed coffee, gelato, cheese, scones, juices, while giving a great city tour. Our group was small and we all left stuffed with local culinary delights and great eating/touring info. A must do in fun, funky Wellington.

    Delicious morning!
We spent a lovely morning with Annette, whose local knowledge and enthusiasm were wonderful! We started in a coffee shop whose passionate owner was a delight (as was the coffee and cheese scone). We moved on to taste ice cream, honey, cheese, charcuterie, peanut butter and chocolate. Annette gave us good ideas for eating in Wellington and introduced us to a gourmet supermarket. All in all, it was a memorable morning with a delightful guide.

    Fantastic tour with Fiona
We did the half day food tour (back on Feb 10)-- It was a great combination of learning the city, culture, and of course food. From a great coffee/cake stop, to an unbelievable tasting of gelato, to dumplings, chocolate and a really fun experience at a large market and more. We loved it all. Fiona was terrific in guiding us and keeping us entertained and well fed, while educating us.

Zest Capital City on Foot food tour (Viking cruises)
This tour was offered as an optional excursion by our Viking cruise, and it ws outstanding. Our guide, Helena, was knowledgeable, friendly, and quite well organized. We tasted everything from bean-to-bar chocolate to honey, with a total of seven stops including a delicious lunch at Havana (NOT Cuban food--- named after the building). The city itself is beautiful, and this tour takes you away from the usual tourist stuff into foodie areas where locals gather, especially the younger folks interested in buying and eating LOCAL. Highly recommend this as a way to enjoy different tastes as you see and learn about Wellington! I only wish I'd had time to go back and visit the art gallery, Kura, that was our first stop. It was GOOD art, not tourist junk! The amount of walking helped counter all the eating (we hope).
