Stretching southeast of Hobart, the Tasman Peninsula is known for its dramatic coastal scenery and the historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Port Arthur. This tour saves time by taking in both sights in one day, with a thrilling cruise around Tasman National Park, a self-guided tour of Port Arthur, and lunch included.
  • Spot dolphins and admire the Jurassic cliffs on a 3-hour wilderness cruise
  • Self-guided tour of Port Arthur: visit the sites that interest you most
  • Hassle-free, round-trip scenic transportation by bus from Hobart
  • Great-value: morning tea, lunch, and entrance fees are included
What to Expect
Make your way to Franklin Wharf to meet your guide for a 7:30am departure. Board your air-conditioned bus and set out on the scenic drive to the Tasman Peninsula, stopping along the way to enjoy morning tea (included) at a local café. Arrive at Eaglehawk Neck in Tasman National Park, where you will transfer to an open-air cruise ship and set sail around the peninsula’s rugged coast. During the 3-hour wilderness cruise, look out for dolphins, seals, and whales along the coast, and enjoy spectacular views as you glide beneath the towering dolerite sea cliffs, peer inside sea caves, and perhaps spot peregrine falcons and other sea birds swooping over the sea or nesting in the cliffs. Back on the mainland, stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the Port Arthur Historic Site, one of Australia’s UNESCO-listed convict sites. After an introduction from your guide, you are free to discover the former penal settlement at your own pace. With around three hours to explore the open-air museum, see the guard tower, penitentiary, and tower cottage, and uncover the harrowing history of the site, which forms a key part of Australia’s convict history. After your Port Arthur visit, meet up with your guide for the return journey to Hobart, where your tour ends at the departure point.

An interesting bus journey through a formerly devastated countryside; a picturesque lavender farm with yummy scones for morning tea, hint, make the most of the small lavender sachets for sale, couldn't find them anywhere else, wonderful small gifts of lavender grown on the farm,

What a fantastic day. Well organised and fun. The coffee stop at the lavender centre was very nice - some of the best scones we have eaten. The boat trip was both beautiful and exciting - the weather was lovely for the trip out, blue skies and sunshine. However, on the way

The day trip to the Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur was wonderful. We didn't know fully what to expect but it turned out to be amazing. The boat part of the tour was so much fun.... and the Port Arthur was enough time to give us an overview and get a good feel for the place.

We visited on 15th of Jan and frankly did not have much expectations from the tour. Just booked it for the good reviews and to keep the family entertained. But it was so much fun. We travelled with aged dad (78) and kids 7 and 3. The travel was exciting and long and yes do
