We took the Skyrail to Kuranda and rode the train back to town. We upgraded to the Gold Class service. That's the way to go. Comfortable seating, served snacks, beer and wine all the way to town. Stopped At the Barron Falls Station to take pictures of the Barron Falls. The train

You can do this train trip from Port Douglas and be delivered to the station in plenty of time to catch the train. its a long day but so worth it.
