Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Admission with Brisbane River Cruise

Overview

Combine a visit to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary with a cruise on the Brisbane River on this stress-free tour. Booking this pleasant way to travel to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary means no fussing with public transportation or car rentals—you can sit back and relax on your scenic cruise. Admission to the sanctuary is included, where you'll have three hours to learn about native Australian wildlife and admire species such as koalas and kangaroos.

What to Expect

Make your way to the Southbank district of Brisbane to catch your departing river cruise. Simply sit back and relax as the boat passes Brisbane's city skyline and out into the suburbs. On the way, listen to your captain's educational commentary about the river and its surroundings.

Arrive at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where you can proceed directly inside with your prepurchased admission ticket. View the more than 130 bears that reside there, as well as the Eastern Water Dragons, huge lizards that stroll the grounds. Watch the Birds of Prey Show, and take in the action at the working sheepdog show. Your tour also includes the bonus of admission to the Platypus House, a great place to observe the unique duck-billed platypus.

If you get hungry or need refreshments, meals and drinks are available both on the cruise and at the sanctuary (own expense).

Return to Brisbane the way you came, at Southbank.

Opening

The boat and crew were great. However, I would not recommend them because they get you to the Lone Pine animal park to late. The park opens at 9 a.m., but the ship does not get you there until 11- 11:15 a.m. The problem with...More

so glad the Captain waited.... a few minutes for memories to last and stories to tell.

We left it to the last minute to decide on this activity. A quick call to see if any seats were available and we secured the last two. West along the Brisbane River with recorded full commentary by well known Australian song writer/singer of all...More

Lovely trip back to Brisbane City

We took the vessel back from the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Vessel departs at 14:15 and arrives +/- 1h20 min later at the city (State library). During the trip valuable info about the area is provided. The surroundings are superb. A real nice trip!

Cuddle a Koala - and a thrilling speed boat ride

I chose the newer option of the Koala Express. I'd already done a trip up/down the river, so thought I would save some time. the smaller Miramar III is (i'm ignorant of this stuff) a power boat, seats about 20, is a fast, and in...More

You don't need to pre book to hold a koala but you can if you want to. The queue was long while we were there. I don't know about the commentary on the express boat as we did the cruise package. Why not contact the express... More
