Overview

Book ahead to experience the outback as the original Australian explorers did on this camel tour of Alice Springs. As you listen to your guide's commentary while on the back of a camel, it’s easy to imagine what it was like for settlers hundreds of years ago to travel across the Australian Red Centre. Stop for photos against the backdrop of the MacDonnell Ranges and spot wallabies and kangaroos.

What to Expect

Ready yourself for pickup from your Alice Springs hotel at the time indicated upon booking, depending on which tour option you selected (morning, afternoon, or sunset). Or, self-drive to Pyndan Camel Tracks if you prefer.

There's no better vantage point to see the local wildlife without disturbing them than on the back of a camel. Keep your camera ready for up-close views of wildlife such as wallabies, kangaroos, and native birds on your gentle ride to the scenic Temple Bar Gap. Your guide helps you spot wildlife and teaches you about the history of camel use in Australia.

When the tour ends, you are returned to your Alice Springs hotel.

Pros: camels were in great condition and were fun to ride. We did a little loop into a station and back and it was just the right distance before it got too uncomfortable. The lass leading the party was friendly and professional. The drinks and...More

Amazing Salih the camel

Me and my aunt rode THE BEST camel EVER called Salih. The service was amazing. The route was so scenic. I loved the cockatoo called Pat. 10/10 would buy again

Totally fun and worth it!

I was scared that I would fall off at first, but my Aunty said that it was the smoothest mount that she’d ever done on a camel! They were so nice and funny (and fluffy). There was also a talking cockatoo named pat that would...More
