    What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your Cancun hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. Receive an overview of the day’s itinerary from your guide and make amendments according to your preference.

Stop periodically to refresh with coffee and admire sights along the way before you arrive at Chichen Itza, arguably Mexico’s most famous Mayan site. Launch into a tour of the UNESCO-listed world wonder, posing for photographs in front of the iconic El Castillo — the mighty pyramid featured on many a Mexican postcard.

Learn about the mystifying acoustics of the Great Ball Court, marvel at the intricate carvings on the Temple of Warriors, and view the Cenote Sagrado. Your photographer not only captures great photographs throughout the day, but also teaches you the basics of effective photography.

Your next stop is Valladolid, a quaint Mexican town home to a charming town square and historical monuments. Travel to a cenote in the middle of the city and dive in for a refreshing swim.

Relax during the journey back to your Cancun hotel, where you’ll bid your guide farewell. Your HD photographs will be sent to you via email shortly after the tour.

    Awesome Tour
I had a great time with Memo during Chichen Itza & Ek Balam tour. We left early (around 7:30am) trying to beat the crowd. It was a hot day but we survived. On top of finding great spots for pictures in both places, Memo taught me a great deal about photography and he even showed me his great pictures, which was a great way for a dummy like me to learn. We also had a great lunch at a Yukatan restaurant that Memo recommended, and it was authentic and good. I strongly recommend this tour, as Memo is such a great tour guide who is willing to teach you anything photography he had learned on top of showing the history and the background of the sites.

Private Photo Tour of Tulum and Coba
I had a very enjoyable full day photo tour of Tulum and Coba with Memo in mid January. Dan was out of the country but he left me in the very capable hands of Memo who is an avid photographer and a resident of Cancun. We started out at the Mayan Ruins of Tulum followed by lunch and then a drive to the ruins at Coba, I had been to Tulum many years ago but had never visited Coba, It is the last Mayan site where tourist are still allowed to climb the main pyramid which was a treat. To get to the pyramid we rented bikes inside the main entrance since it was getting late and that allowed us to get there quicker. After Coba we spent a few minutes checking out some nearby Cenotes (natural fresh water pools some of which are subterranean). At sunset I got some nice shots at Coba Lake. The various sites we visited take a while to get to from Cancun so it was a long day but very worthwhile. I am a semi-professional photographer and when I travel I like to seek out the services of a local photographer who can help me see as much as possible and offer tips along the way. Memo had visited Tulum and Coba in the past and was able to offer some historical information in addition to suggesting various photo ops. He also was happy to take my camera and get a few pictures of me at the sites we visited (always nice to be able to show that I was actually there). If you are ever in the area and would like to take advantage of a personalized tour with photography as the main objective then I would highly recommend Cancun Photo Walks. If you would like to see some of photos I captured on the tour you can check out my smugmug photography page. Just search for my user name kenezell. There is a gallery called Tulum and Coba Ruins.

Personal, Fun, Informative Chichen Itza Experience
Our trip to Chichen Itza was everything we hoped for and then some thanks to the amazing people at Cancun Photo Walks. We were fortunate to have both Dan and his wife, Raine, on our tour. The personalized tour they provided left us with one of the most memorable private tours we have ever taken. Dan was always looking for the best shot possible and went out of his way to make sure we got it. We also made a couple of stops during the return drive from Chichen Itza to our hotel, to see “can’t miss” sights they recommended, which was an added bonus. Dan and Raine made it a point to see that we enjoyed a highly memorable tour…and Dan ensured that we got some beautiful photos (with both of us in them!) to help remember the experience. If we ever travel back to Cancun, we will be hiring Cancun Photo Walks again to experience other parts of area.

    Fantastic Day at Chichen Itza
Danny did a great job of providing photo opportunities and advice to our group, ranging from novice to intermediate photographers. He gave us useful tips in photographing Chichen Itza and recommended a stop at a small town square on the way back to our hotel, where he showed off some of his street photography techniques. It really is amazing to watch him work with complete strangers on the street and turn those encounters into fantastic photos. Overall, my entire family enjoyed spending the day with Danny. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations: the transportation, the Chichen Itza photos, lunch, safety - you name it, we were happy with it. I would highly recommend Danny and Raine for anything even remotely related to photography in Cancun.

    Highly Recommended
On our tour, we went to Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. The experience was completely customized to whatever we were looking to get out of it. Dan gave great tips (suggestions on angles, exposure settings, etc), and we came home with some amazing pictures. Dan was also taking pictures of the sites as well as of us, which he sent a link to so we could have. Having these pictures were a wonderful addition. The day was completely ours to take as much time and as many pictures where we wanted. They also took us to a delicious and very cheap local restaurant we would have never found otherwise. Both Dan and his driver Arturo are great people, who made the experience so much more relaxing and enjoyable. I was slightly worried there might be a language barrier, but Dan is from Canada and speaks perfect English. Overall, we would highly recommend them, and will definitely be spending another day with Dan and Arturo next time we are in the area.

    Great Experience
I was looking to do a tour where I could get some great photos and a different kind of experience, I found it! Dan was so awesome to work with. He took me to Chichen Itza and a couple other places that you would never find as a typical tourist. As an amature photographer I got some really great tips and some really great photos. The personalizde service was the best and I reccomend it to anyone that is looking for something different.

    Super fun day
If you want a small intimate tour experience, than Dan is your man. He arrived right on time at our hotel. We went to Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and X'canche cenote. We beat the crowds at Chichen Itza and were able to get some great photos. We are not photography buffs, but understood they would give you pointers on taking pictures. There was one other guy on the tour who was given instruction. We choose this tour because Dan will email you a link to all the photos taken from the trip and we can choose what we want. Dan arrived with his driver Alturo and two assistants, Peter and Alan who are also photographers. They're all easy going and lots of fun. We had so many laughs and discussed many things during the drive time. We stopped an eat at a local restaurant between Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. Which was great timing, because by the time we got to Ek Balam, there was no one there! The cenote was also completely empty and we had it all to ourselves. On the way back we stopped for beer and the fun continued. I can't say enough about Dan and his staff. If you want an unique tour, don't go with those big tour agencies, as you'll just be a number to them. They give you one to one interaction. You won't be disappointed.

    Great time in Cancun
I wanted to get away from the snow and ice for a bit and decided to head down to Cancun for a week. I wanted to check out what Cancun had to offer and quickly found out about Cancun Photo Walks and chose to do a walking tour around the city. I enjoy taking photos and I gave Dan a shout and he was able to fit me in on fairly short notice. We started walking around the city and I very quickly realized Dan was passionate about what he did. He was professional and was very knowledgeable about what the city had to offer. We got some great shots in Central Cancun and ended up in Market 28. That is where Dan and I parted ways. Next time I'm in Cancun I will not hesitate to call him and book another tour or two. Thanks Dan for the great tour...I'm not the type of guy to write reviews of things but Dan's knowledge of the city and love of photography were something that really stood out to me. Best of luck until next time.

Dan will get you where you want to go
Dan was a great and very flexible host on my trip to Cancun. We worked out a custom plan and then shot, shot, shot. And as he'd tell you, if you're looking for someone to give you the history/cultural tour, there are plenty of people to do that. But if you're looking for a photographer to get you to the best places to get shots and be willing to go early/stay late to edit the crowds out of your shots, he's your man.

Great private tour to see a real Cancún
I just had a half day in Cancún like a transit before traveling to Costa Rica, so I wanted to utilize my time in a best way to see a real Cancún quickly. I was lucky to find the Photowalk tour of Dan. I love taking pictures but I'm so lazy to move from place to place with lots of tools, so I just simply used my iPhone. Dan was so kind to take me to many places, he was patient to stop at many places on the way for me to take all pictures which I liked, also he showed me the best and professional ways so that I could take lots of beautiful pictures. Besides, Dan was so enthusiastic to explain to me many things about Cancún with his great and rich knowledge. I enjoyed taking pictures, watching the sunset of Cancún from Xcaret and of course talking with Dan too. Thank you very much Dan for making my day with best memories in Cancún! :) If you're a photography lover, if you want to see a real Cancún with a great guide, I strongly recommend you to take this tour, "Photowalk with Dan"!

    Fun day trip!
My husband and i took a private day trip to Coba ad Tulum with Dan and we were so glad we did! He arrived right on time to pick us up from the hotel and the day started off with a great start. The ruins was really good and we had a great time climbing the pyramid. The lunch at a little authentic mexican place was perfect and the afternoon dip at cenote was really refreshing. Tulum was a perfect combination of beach and the ruins! Dan took some great pictures of us at the ruins. He is a terrific person and will keep you occupied with his interesting stories all through the day! He also made sure of small details like carrying sunscreen, bug sprays, snacks and refreshing cold towels. It was a fun filled day for both of us!
