"Jumped ship" from cruise excursion to Viator excursion
First time with Viator excursion. It was easy to book, communicate from the ship and connect with our tour guide. Pick up from the ship was seamless. Jacob was terrific! His knowledge of South African history, culture and animal life was invaluable. We got a private guide for the price of a group rate.

      Outstanding visit, terrific guide!
With a terrific guide, Gary, we saw many elephant family groups, Kudu, warthogs, zebra, baboons, tortoise and birds. Gary knew the park well and was great at telling stories from his many years of touring on his own as well as leading groups in Addo. He answered questions while driving and spotting animals we were able to see up close. Lots of babies in all species. A highlight of my years of travel!

Private Tour in Cape Town "Cape Peninsula Point and Penguins"
The highlight of most cruises in the Indian Ocean or Africa ends up in Cape Town, South Africa. If the cruise stays only for a day or 2, it is imperative that a tour in Cape Town must be from locals that are expert in this area. Like in Port Elizabeth, we were very fortunate to engage Into Tours. Janina from Into Tours booked us for a full day Private Tour «Cape Peninsula Point and Penguins». Despite the fact that our cruise ship Norwegian Dawn docked late for an hour and the chaos thereafter when everyone on board wanted to disembark at the same time, Janina made sure that our driver Christian was there for us. After a delay of almost 2 hours, we did the best day-tour ever in South Africa (Camps Bay, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point National Park, Boulders Beach with the African Penguins, Bo-kaap, etc. to name a few). Our driver/guide Christian was like a long lost brother to us. We had a magnificent day and had lunch at the Black Marlin Restaurant, however, the saddest part of the whole day-tour was saying goodbye and farewell after he drove us back to the Port Terminal.

Day Excursion at the Addo Elephant National Park in Port Elizabeth
If you are in a cruise and Port Elizabeth in South Africa is a port of call then I strongly suggest to book on a tour to the Addo Elephant National Park Day Safari. Book it in advance to secure a place but not in your cruise ship as the price is exorbitant. My wife and I were so fortunate to book the tour with the company Into Tours. Janina was so amazing in handling the booking and making us feel confident that the van waits for us at the port terminal and bring us back on time. Our driver and guide Lizwe is an amazing guy and went out of his way to make sure that our visit at the park is something we can treasure. Indeed we did and it was overwhelming. Thank you again Janina, Lizwe and Into Tours.

      Wonderful elephant experience
This was a fabulous trip! Gary, our driver and guide was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the park. We saw lots of wildlife but mainly the elephants. We were collected from our ship and returned in plenty of time for sailing. Thoroughly recommended.

More than 5 stars - Addo Elephant Park
I feel like giving 5 stars doesn’t do our tour justice. Our visit to Addo Elephant Park was simply amazing, guided by the excellent Emanuel. We were picked up promptly from the port and driven out to the park in an air conditioned minivan. We were lucky enough to get a private tour too! Once in the park we saw so many animals! Hundreds of elephants, a rhino (a rare sighting), zebra, ostriches, a buffalo and all sorts of smaller animals too. Emanuel was excellent - he knew where to look for the animals and was knowledgeable and great to talk to. He was also very observant of all the park rules and respectful of the animals. We didn’t see any lions but we were forewarned that they were an unlikely sighting as the park only has 5 of them now. That didn’t detract from the day though because we were able to see so many other animals up close. Lunch was a simple but excellent picnic overlooking an elephant waterhole. After the tour the company continued to take care of us - my son thought he had lost his AirPods (he hadn’t) and the manager double checked the car for us and had suggested they could be dropped back to the ship. Great service! I could not recommend this company more!

      Cape Town with James!
We had a wonderful full-day trip with James! We went to Travel Mountain, we took a tour along the Cape Town city centre, Constantia for wine tasting and lunch and Kirstenbosch gardens to finish. James was absolutely amazing, very kind and adapted to whatever we preferred to do. I really loved his insight about south african history as well as knowing about the main parts in CapenTown. Would recommend 100%!

What a wonderful day we had today. Our guide Esaudore was just delightful; knowledgeable, interesting, very courteous and thoughtful. Able to adapt to what we needed and wanted. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough. I loved it was a private tour and the wineries and restaurant ( in particular) were perfect. Stunning scenery. Thank you!

Great Place to see Elephants and More.
We were 4 passengers and were picked up at the cruise terminal for our Game Drive in the Addo Elephant Park. Our tour guide was Litzwe and was very informative and friendly. He seemed to know exactly the spot where we would be able to see different animals. We couldn't believe how many majestic Elephants we saw, as well as Lions, Warthogs, Zebras, different types of Antelopes, Blue Cranes. We learnt about the wildlife, habitat, history as we drove round the park. I would recommend using Into Tours for this experience, not to be missed. We all had a wonderful day, seeing all the animals.

Excellent Introduction to Cape Town & Cape Peninsula
We did a full day comprehensive tour with Jamie. He was an excellent guide very informative and knowledgeable with patience and good humour. He really went out of his was to make our time in Cape town and the surrounding areas feel special. We visited Table Mountain, Boulders Beach where we saw the African Penguins, spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive, Camps Bay, Cape Point. It was an excellent tour and as it was a private tour there was 4 of us, this was flexible and more personalised seeing exactly what we were interested in. I would have no hesitation in recommending Into Tours when you are holidaying in the Cape town or Port Elizabeth area. A special mention also to Nina, whom I dealt with, in organising our tours, she was brilliant, very professional friendly and punctual with queries.

      Great Tour Ruined
Into Tours provided a Cape Town Peninsula tour using a guide from Zimbabwe. The guide was deeply knowledgeable about African culture in particular Zimbabwe. However, less of a problem for me, and more so for my wife, as he was unfamiliar with the vehicle he was driving. He needed the service station attendant to open the fuel tank. Also, the car caused headaches for Rita as it was heavily perfumed. The fuel and any snacks that were to be provided needed to be obtained prior to the tour. Since this tour was to be flexible per our interest, I emphasized our desire to see Cape Point and I noticed a resistance to this suggestion only to later find out why. Our guide was not registered as a guide and had problems with the park rangers. We did get in after he paid his entrance fee, the only fee he paid., I ended up paying for his meal, funicular, and Seal Island activities. After the incident at the entrance, Rita lost all trust in our guide. The trip was ruined, and we missed the wine tasting. Into tours offered a 25% reduction in price, which I accepted even though it was about a $150 tour versus the $319 charge.

      Best Cape Town Tour ever
We had a wonderful day in Cape Town! Have been picked up by the very friendly guide at the cruise terminal and have then seen in a small group very much of Cape Town and the surrounding area! We have been to the penguins, Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope and in Bo Kaap! In between there were several stops at stunning beaches and souvenir shopping! Our guide had an incredible knowledge of the region, the animals and the history! We learned a lot! The tour was the highlight among the excursions!

Back in Oct, 2023 we signed up for the tour through Into Tours titled Addo Elephant Park Full-day Safari & Shore Excursion from Harbour. It was scheduled for Feb 16, 2023 with a start time of 9 AM with pick-up on the dock for an 8 hour tour. I received a message confirming that we were scheduled.
In December I received another message from the provider Janina from Into Tours just thanking us for booking with them.
We too were also looking forward to the tour since it was our first time in South Africa.
The next communication I received was on Feb. 14. It was a confirmation of our tour.
There was no indication that there was a change from our original confirmation.
The next morning we were on the dock at 8:45. The provider was not there. I looked at the “what’sapp” application on my phone and saw messages from Janina from that morning saying she tried calling me and and reminding me of the tour. I received a second message saying that the pickup was adjusted to 8:00. Only than did we realize why we missed the tour and that there had been a change made.
I looked at the calls on my phone and there were none listed from her. I tried calling the number associated with the confirmation but there was no answer.
I’m not sure when the decision was made by Into Tours to change the start time, but sending out a confirmation and not highlighting the change in time is not enough especially when it is the start time of the tour. I've also written the Into Tours requesting a refund. We have also emailed the tour company but still waiting for a response.

Dear Sandy Plotecher, Firstly, we would like to emphasize that while we value all feedback, we must reject your review and refund request due to several factors outlined below: Communication Efforts: Into Tours takes pride in our commitment to clear and effective communication. Upon receiving your booking via TripAdvisor/Viator on October 1, 2023, we promptly sent confirmation messages and inquired about your accessibility via WhatsApp for essential tour updates. On February 15, 2024, a reminder message was sent to highlight important information, including the adjusted start time of 8:00 am, considering the scheduled departure of the NCL Dawn at 5:00 pm (required return to cruise liner was 16h00). We made every effort to ensure guests were well-informed about the tour details. Here is what you typed on the booking platform, you were aware of the ships departure at 5:00 pm. Arrival information: Cruise ship: NCL Dawn Disembarkation time: 6:30 - 7:00 am we arrive at 6:00am Boarding time: 3:00 - 4:00pm we sail at 5:00pm Departure date: Feb 16 2024 Reason for Start Time Change: The decision to adjust the start time was made to accommodate the ship's departure schedule and ensure all 40 guests could enjoy the full 8-hour duration of the tour without risking missing their embarkation time. This information was clearly communicated in the subsequent messages: Guest Arrival: Despite our efforts, we acknowledge your absence at the designated pickup location. Our guide, Xolisa, patiently waited for over half an hour, and attempts were made to contact you via WhatsApp and telephone calls. Regrettably, we were unable to reach you, and the tour departed at 8:43 to avoid jeopardizing the return time for other guests (who were starting to become irate after having to wait for you) It is essential to clarify that the purpose of the reminder messages was not to confirm the tour twice but to ensure guests were informed of crucial details, including the adjusted start time. All other guests arrived at the pick-up point on time. Guest Responsibility: We must stress the importance of guests thoroughly reviewing communication messages to avoid misunderstandings. Your acknowledgment of the tour duration and the mention of the start time in the messages should have alerted you to the adjusted schedule. Resolution: We regret any inconvenience caused and assure you that every effort was made to accommodate guests. However, given the circumstances and our adherence to the tour schedule, we cannot accept your request for a refund. In conclusion, we believe our communication efforts were comprehensive and aligned with industry standards. We urge you to reconsider your review and refrain from making unfounded accusations against our reputable company.

We were picked up from the cruise port by Gary, who was so friendly. En route to Addo he gave us an insight to the many points of interest we went past.
In Addo, he was fabulous, he knew everything there was to know about the wildlife there. His knowledge was amazing - he knew just where to go to get the best possible views.
We had a lovely complimentary lunch, after which we continued the safari.
We have no hesitation in recommending Into Tours in Port Elizabeth.

I had the most amazing day with tour guide and company owner Nina in the Addo Elephant Park. Even if I was the only one on the tour, Nina didn’t cancel, but went all in. She is super friendly and went out of her way to make the day memorable. We spotted lots of elephants and many other animals too. A day to remember. Highly recommended!

We had a great day at Addo Elephant Park with our tourguide Janina. We have seen a lot of animals in their natural enviroment. A reallly good lunch (burger, french fries, white wine) at the park was included. Janina is a very very friendly person and it was very interessting to talk to her about the south african history and also about german and south african culture. She took a lot of pictures for us and showed us even rare lions.
